Hi Valerie, I had to pause the video when you said that you were going to plant the mint in your garden. please please please please do not plant the mint in your garden. It will take over the garden and you’ll never get rid of it !! keep it in a pot. It’s the safest place for it.

I’m always amazed at the massive amount of food she has to cook for a meal. 😬 I know that grocery bill is sky high. I can’t wait to see how she preserves her garden hauls. I can only imagine the money it will save them… They appear to be such a good family. 💜

Even without chickens, you can put your vegetable scraps to use. Add them to your compost bin.
Be sure to plant mint in a container by itself. It is a quick spreading ground cover and will take everything over

Re meal planning…use your microwave to defrost. Come up with some meals you like, buy the ingredients and eat what you want on the days you want. You will at least have all the ingredients.

Never meal plan. Never saw the need to. I just figure out what I'm going to fix the following day and take the meat out of the fridge. 😊
As far as meal planning here’s what I do. If I make meatloaf & always have leftovers the following night I chop up the meatloaf & put it in spaghetti sauce. Instead of eating leftovers you can create another meal. The mashed potatoes that were made with the meatloaf can be made into potato pancakes for lunch.

I try to have meals planned, but it's only my mother (who I help take care of) and me so nine times out of ten the plan goes out the window. My mother said to tell you you have such a friendly smile and she loves all your fur babies! Take care friend!!

Hi Valerie. I'm much like you. I buy in bulk and prepare meals based on what's in the fridge, freezer and pantry. I also replenish my fridge once a week when needed. If I want something special that's not readily available, I'll occasionally make a quick store run. For the most part though, I keep a bounty. Since the passing of my husband and then retiring though, I've cut back. ❤

Don’t put the mint in the garden. Put it in a container. Mint will take over the garden, and you won’t be able to get rid of it. Your meal sounds delicious.

The supper was tasty looking You go above and beyond with your meals I don't plan meals because it's just myself Heck half the time I decide on one thing then by the time I walk to the kitchen I've changed my mind I try to cook for two days so I give myself a break for a day Don't worry about planning for a week If what you're doing works for you then keep it that way No worries about what other people do.

Val, when you and Tim get those chickens, you'll have hardly any food scraps. We have around 50 free-range chickens and they come running over whenever I open my front door, knowing I have some goodies for them. Also, whatever they don't eat, I can always count on the goats and pigs to eat! Love your videos!! ❤

Hi Valerie, have a wonderful Mother's day!! For planning meals. I just plan what meat we'll have. So like chicken on Sunday Mexican on Monday, Tuesday is ground beef, chicken on Wednesday, and so on. Because I can't make up my mind beyond that.
Well Valerie I don't meal plan anymore I did when we were first married and had a strict budget. Every thing in my pantry was going into a meal. I'd make a list of meals and grogery shop but I rarely stuck to the daily menu I would often change from Mondays menu to Thursday's. When my kids got older and so involved in school activities and sports we just would wing it. I just gave up on meal planning its just a day to day decision. I kind of like that freedom. And yes don't ant the mint in your garden keep it in a container or it will take over. Hope you had a Happy Mothers Day❤ hugs and kisses to your fur babies so precious.❤

Hi Valerie! As a mom of boys. At least once a month, I would have them write down meals or dishes that they would like this month. I gave them a couple of days to work on it. They would have a list 😊, that's where i started my meal plan from the list.. easier meals in between their meals. Makes everyone happy!! Hope this helps. Thanks for the great video's,
Most of the time i am not planning meals ahead of time. I go with the flow or mood. If i feel like curry...i will look for recipes during the day and the meat will come along either chicken of beef😂

We had homemade potato soup tonight. I try to meal plan...but I'm not very successful....I cook from my pantry too and most times it's just what I think sounds good. Plus with leftovers...it's hard to follow a schedule...lol
