That is a very good choice highly capable climber. Plus you got my favorite color purple LOL. My rock crawler is the SCX10 II and my body is a 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor I painted it purple. Alright everyone have a great day and a great crawl. I can't wait to see the purple people eater in action
One after another?! That stimmy hittin DIFFERENT lol
Went to the local rc store, this past weekend, for some small items, ended up coming home with the Gen8 green version. 😂
So far, I'm absolutely loving this rig!
Solid vid, Bro!
Thanks bud! It’s fun to drive and Your going to have fun for a long time with it haha
When removing the body lift the front first, then the rear. And the opposite putting it back in, rear first then front. And make sure the body is tucked inside the rock sliders. It's nice that Redcat listens to their customers and made the windows clear, tires softer, and fixed the bump steer problem that the original Gen8 has.
Great advise, thank you 😎👍🏻
I have the purple Gen 8, as well, and enjoy it, although it's a bulkier than my other 1/10 trail trucks. I recently took all the stock electronics out of it to build up an older Gen8 P.A.C.K., for my daughter, so I look forward to getting it back in order with aftermarket electronics. Good to see another PNW RC'er.
Nice new rig!!! Time to start building a bigger crawler course. That is crazy it wasn't shipped in a box. 🤘🤘🤘 We have both I have 2 Trx4 and my daughter has a Capra.
That intro was Beastly!!!
Beautiful unboxing truck🤩👌
I've been eyeing this as my 1st 10th scale. Looks sweet.
Gen7 was my first one but I immediately traded her in for the gen 8 and I love it.
It makes me kinda upset after I cleared my windows and changed the skid plate for them to come out with the v2
Mine gets here in a few days :D
I"ve never seen such a great video in my life I wish you prosperity.
형제 친하게 지내봅시다. 😄😄
Just got one from the wife for the bday. Picking it up Thursday. Pretty excited! Going to find a Toyota body that mounts on it.
Sick! Congratulations on the new RC 😄👍🏻 you’ll have a ton of fun with it!
Great intro Freinds 😍
Thank you 😄👍🏻 if it hadn’t hit my shin I think I would like it too lol
Excited to see you put this up against your new TRX4! I'm so stuck on which one to get. I'm worried about the departure angle on the Gen8 as well as how scraped up the body will get in comparison to the TRX4.
Even after MONTHS of debating with myself I'm not sure what I want for a 10th scale crawler. The Gen 8 looks so capable, but I'm not really a fan of the Scout body. If anything I'd get the Axe edition for the black body and upgraded electronics. My heart still leans toward the SCX10 III though
There's a lot of crawler options available today, but you will not regret purchasing a Redcat Gen 8. You really get alot for the money. If you really like the look, go for the Redcat Gen 8 Axe edition, it's definitely worth the extra cost. As far as raw crawling performance goes, you can't beat the Axial Capra, there's even an RTR model with 4 wheel steering now.
I have an Axial Capra and a Redcat Gen 8 Axe edition, I really like both and I wouldn't want to give up either one. The Redcat is much more realistic looking, but the Capra has better performance on the rocks.
Good luck with the tough decision, you've got 2 great RC crawlers in mind. The SCX10.3 is definitely great option as well!
I almost bought one of these... But decided to get a couple more RedCat Everest 10's first. Wanted to stick to comp crawlers for now 👊😎
🤘🏼😎
The actual name for that fourth bar in the front is called a panhard bar in my friend
Lol he said the lexan was hard plastic too.
I saw a CRKT M16!
You should get an ECX Temper 2, these lil 18th scale crawlers are really capable out of the box.
ill look into that :)
Sweet redcat i like there gen 7 also
I was definitely considering the gen7 pro but the kicker for me was the portal axels 🤘🏼
@@UpperLeftRC I will probably get both but living up here in Canada with no rc shop local in the province, will be expensive.
You should make your way up to cap sante park in Anacortes if you're in WA. Beautiful cliffside perfect for crawling 👍
I’ll have to look into that, Anacortes isn’t too far from me 🤘🏼😄
It kinda upset me after I cleared my windows and out the new skid plate on they come out with the v2.
To take the body off just gab the front bumper and the front of the body and seperates them like there are hinges in the back even tho there is not.
Thanks for the tip 😄👍🏻
What model is the green one?
“Losi Nightcrawler”
Try smoothing out your throttle control, not so jumpy. Good vid thanks!!
dang, I super wanted one of those purple bodies. I would paint you a new body if you would trade me lol. I was talked into getting the trx4 I'm glad i have it but that purple.
Haha I appreciate the offer but I’m going to keep the purple body 😄👍🏻 I really like how it looks, plus I’ve already scratched the crap out of it lol
Nice but in my opinion should have gotten the gen8 axe edition
The axe edition does have better electronics and is an improvement over the V2 but it’s also 2x the price, and since I’m definitely going to break this thing and swap out parts and upgrades along the way I want to start with a cheap platform and build on it as I go 😄👍🏻
No its lexan
LOL "4th link" is the Panhard bar bro
Even after you say that I don’t know what that means 😂 but I appreciate the info! 😄👍🏻
@@UpperLeftRC this shorter rod, is called "Panhard"...
I thought my phone was going off!
😂 when I was editing the footage I thought mine was too and then I remembered my dad was getting a call in the clip!
@@UpperLeftRC I wasn't going to call out
Your dad
Put hobbywing 1080esc and drop the pinion gear down a few teeth
Does that make it slower and easier to control when climbing?
@@UpperLeftRC HW 1080 is much smoother slow control, you can go 3s then too, more torque and wheelspeed
and maybe a smaller pinion. For me the 1080 is the best brushed esc you can get for your money
Yes it will make it way easier to control and better low speed start up the esc comes with a programming card to tune the esc
Can we name it Barney? On the real though, it looks sick in purple. If I had hellcat money it would be purple 😂
The Redcat Gen 9 is better!
😂
