  • This is the final installment of the Redcat Gen8 build series - the TEST!
    Over the last series of videos, I took a stock Redcat Gen 8 v2 (provided by THE Rich D RC: / wrdever ) and put it through a whole host of upgrades.

      Thanks!
      I thought of doing that, but much of where I drive is fairly tight. Was concerned it would 1) make the turning circle worse, and 2) make the break-over angle worse - more belly dragging.

    Very nice. I may have missed it but have you altered the motor, ESC or pinion gear? It seemed to have better, slower throttle control. Thanks.

    • @RoadsideRC
      @RoadsideRC  3 роки тому +3

      Yes! I actually didn't have it in a video, as it was a mistake.
      I ran it stock on 3S a few times....and then fried the ESC.
      The only thing I had laying around was a stock Axial ESC, so threw it in there.

    the resaon why i pick this gen8 (v1) ,the C.o.G so low! and the frame rail is wider than other rig.makes good balance.and the redcat engeneering is great calculate the gears..IT GOT BEAST TORQUE even just 40Amps ESC...the main issue is the portal housing connecting structure is weak!cus it cannot handle the big torque.should up grade with the metal one

      Drive it and see how you like it. I have other trucks with more aggressive overdrive and am still happy with it.
