Toyota Tacoma | Front and Rear extended brake line Install | (2017 Tacoma)

- In todays install I added front and rear extended brake lines. These lines are braided stainless steel, are kevlar reenforced and have a teflon inner sleeve. They are longer and stronger than the stock lines. The purpose of these lines is that they give the ability for more flex with out the fear of snapping a stock line. The video is a bit long. I tried my best to speed up the areas where I could, but I wanted you to see the amount of time and effort it takes to accomplish the job, including a simple flex test, brake flush, torquing and quick spray down with the wheels off. Overall not a hard install, the front lines are a 10 minute job, the rear lines are a bit harder only because the location of the upper line bracket is tucked and difficult to get too. You will need a 10, 17 & 18 mil wrench, new dot 3 brake fluid, and a flare nut or line wrench also 10 mil will be a life saver. I went to the dealership for Toyota dot 3. The lines came from Head Strong Offroad and were shipped quickly. I will drop a link down below for the lines. You have the option of purchasing just the front or just the rear. I grabbed them both. If you are interested in a one man brake flush how to video check out a channel named Chris Fix, he has a ton of great car related content. Thanks for watching.

I’ll support a Veteran channel (US Army Veteran). Thanks for the video. Considering extended steel braided lines on the Lifted Taco (Kings).

Rolling the new lift this weekend. Got mid travel suspension for the rear, so new lines going on too. Glad to catch your video.

Cool vid bro
Thank you and thanks for watching!
Thanks
No problem
I once put some brake fluid bleeders that "sealed" themselves after pushing all the air/fluid out of a line allowing for a "bleeding the brakes" procedure to undertaken by one person. Ever heard of these? Great video, BTW.
I have not heard of those, and thank you.
Helpful video for sure ! Thank you for posting this video ! One question , when swapping out only the rear brake lines, is it mandatory to bleed the front aswell since im only swapping the rear brake lines ?
Thanks, yes anytime you swap or open a line, bleed them all. Start at the furthest away, and keep going to the next furthest. Since you are working on the rear, by the time you make it to the fronts it will be quick as most of the air will be gone. Thanks for watching.
@@ClassyTacos thank you, I noticed you have Camburg UCA. Are those the new X-joint ? Also did you get an alignment that adjusted camber, caster, & toe ?. I’m asking because I have the same UCA X - Joint from Camburg and I’m having a minor issue
@@throwmypackage These are the older Camburg UCAs with the Moog Joints not the newer ones. When I get alignments, even at the dealership I ask the tech to get me as much caster as possible. They usually try for me at my dealership they now me know.
where did you get those little caps for the brake lines?
These are your best bet to find the right size-- amzn.to/2KHwnEA
Hey can you tell me what that z shaped black metal line is called? It’s right next to where you were flushing the fluid. Mine snapped and not sure what it’s called.
Help me out a little, what was I flushing in the video when you see the bracket? Help me locate it so I can try to figure out what its called.
Were you worried about breaking your front lines or did you just do them since you did the back? I thought you only needed front for extended travel kits
I did the fronts to be safe while I was already in there and already bleeding the brakes. I am not sure on only needing them for extended kits only. I like to have longer lines with all my lifts, just to be safe. Thanks for watching!
My guy, why the brake fluid shower?
It builds character, thanks for watching.
The rear top section sucks but oh so satisfying once done.
Yes, it was rough getting into the bolts, but the peace of mind after having it don is perfect. Thanks for watching.
Remember me silverlight on yt
