Thank you. I don't know if the comparison video has been done before, so I figured it would be a good opportunity to do so since I had the black dial one in hand.
Recently purchased one with the olive green dial with date function. I’ve really enjoyed wearing this and probably gets the most wrist time amongst my collection which includes Rolex, IWC, etc. this is the first manual wind watch I’ve owned and probably the best “value” watch out there. Highly recommend getting this.
It sounds like you have an amazing collection. It is a great value, and I regret selling mine. I know it is not the style of the watch, but I would really like a display caseback.
I currently have the white dial version shown in this video and a Seiko MM300 and while I love the look of the 300 and how your eyes are drawn to the aesthetics, the Khaki is so much more comfortable to wear for extended periods of time.
I agree, the Hamilton Jaki Field Mechanical just disappears on the wrist. It is very easy to forget that you are wearing this watch. The MM300 is an awesome watch as well, but a bit clunky on my small wrist.
Thank you for the video it really helped, I bought the black on bracelet for my son’s thirteenth birthday, I like the classic look of the black especially on the bracelet and seems to suit as a gift.
Yes, I do now. However since this video I rebought the white dial. The problem with Hamilton watches is that there is too much reflection from the crystal with a black dial. It is not as bad with a white dial.
@WrongTimeWatch Appreciate the reply! The reflection on the black dial does seem to be quite a bit worse. Do you own both now or just the white dial? I'm looking to pick one up myself but having a difficult time deciding which one to go with.
Cool watch but it has no wrist presence. From any distance, the watch disappears on wrist as if all you’re wearing is a strap bracelet. It really needs to be 40mm with about 11mm thickness and shorter lugs;
Nice to see them side by side. The black is more classic, but I really love the white dial version. Great idea for a video!

Great comparison video. Nicely done!
Thanks again for letting me borrow the Hamilton.
Great video.
Thank you

Love both!
It was hard to decide, but since white dial watches are in now, I went with white.
@@WrongTimeWatch I've had 4 different variations of that watch in the collection at different times! The white is beautiful.
white hands down, looks more classic, easier to dress up if needed be, also you wont have the one everyone has, great video.
Thank you. I did end up keeping the white dial watch.
Love my white dial but either way, they both look fantastic! 😊👍
Yes they do. I feel like I need one back in the collection.

Got this in white but 42mm, I loooove it!
Very nice, they are good watches for the money.
Very tempted to buy blue! But thanks because now I know I like white better than black.
I prefer the white dial as well.
Black one has the classic look and feel ... I have the black one now for 8 months and it hasn't left my wrist😁🤙
I agree, it is so comfortable on wrist, I could see leaving it on for years.

Very nice. I am sure that watch will last him a lifetime. I should do the same for my kids.
White dial is more legible for me. Especially during that lume shot
The lume lit up the white dial for a few seconds.
I have both and much prefer the black. Better legibility, real provenance, and just a better, "I do serious sh&t" look.
I was on a white dial kick for a few years, now I am back to black dialed watches.
White for sure
Thanks, It was such a nice watch. And good value too.
White is better, but both are fantastic. This is one of the greatest values in the entire watch world!
I agree, hard to beat for a Swiss made mechanical watch with sapphire crystal.
I would say white!
Actually, I think this is my first white dialed watch.
Is that white one up for sale?
Yes, I can sell it if you want it.
Is the case steel? It looks plastic
Yes, it is for sure 316L stainless steel.
White dial wins but on a brown leather strap (or tan/khaki NATO)
That sounds like a good strap combination. Somedays I regret selling this watch.
I like white dials but in this case I would go for the black one.
Yes, in this case black is more correct for a military inspired watch.
So you prefer the black dial, it seems?
Yes, I do now. However since this video I rebought the white dial. The problem with Hamilton watches is that there is too much reflection from the crystal with a black dial. It is not as bad with a white dial.

Used in Vietnam
Thanks for sharing.
Take them outside and see which color is easier to read with glare. I suspect the black one. Both are great.
Unfortunately I had to send the black dial on off to Rob, so I will not be able to try that. Thanks for the suggestion though, maybe next time.
White one reflects less
White definitely reflects less, you can see even in this video with his overhead lights.
This is true.
The white dial is way more legible even in the video 😂
中国 天津 ?
Tianjing, China ?
The white doesn't look good at all. Black all the way. Good vid thx
I did buy the white one, but will probably be selling it. The black is more classic for sure.
you have a small wrist... looks like 42mm on your wrist.. the white dial looks also cheapy... cream would have been a better color.
That is a good point about the dial color. It would look more vintage with a cream dial.
Cool watch but it has no wrist presence. From any distance, the watch disappears on wrist as if all you’re wearing is a strap bracelet. It really needs to be 40mm with about 11mm thickness and shorter lugs;
It also needs to have a satin brushed case. Bead blasted finishing is ugly
Yes, it fits well on my small wrist. I do you agree with you on the lugs, they are a bit too long, but it makes strap changes easier.
So literally change everything about it... just buy a different watch. Hamilton has a million options.
