10:52 - you mentioned that one of Sega's mandates is that you're only allowed to create characters based on small to medium animals, but are there limits on how big you're allowed to make the characters? While most are around Sonic's height, we also got big boys like Tumble, Smithy, and...well, Big. And back in the rebooted Archie Era, you had characters like Akhlut, Tundra, and Nephthys, who were on par with Eggman. PS: When you start making new characters again, you should totally submit a tall female character for approval. I know Japanese media tends to avoid that sort of thing, but if Sailor Jupiter and Noi from Dorohedoro be beloved, you can do it too!
12:46 - There has been a lot of discussion surrounding Sonic as a series that uses chronological development for characters to grow, and a static series that adheres to a status quo while also preserving character dynamics and roles for legacy's sake. Regarding this, how do you feel about where Tails has ended up, as simultaneously a side character to "move on from" and left static/independent once his arc is finished, ala Blaze, Shadow, Silver, Knuckles, etc., while also still remaining Sonic's proverbial best friend without the built-in tagalong, younger brother appeal that children could identify with? It's possibly the longest arc of any Sonic character throughout the games, so it's interesting to think about how he grew and what that means in the process. The relationship is one of the most iconic in gaming at the same time, so the idea of moving past that is also interesting to see
15:40 - Might be kicking a hornet's nest with this one. If Sally did come back, which design would she have? I admit to being far more nostalgic for the old boots-and-jacket design and I'd think they'd want to call back to SatAM more directly... but design guidelines are different today.
17:27 - In Issue #32, the ensemble Sonic cast attending the victory party were saved by Sonic's abrupt return from Eggman's attack. Did you ever think it was a missed opportunity to have Sonic's friends tackle on a challenge without Sonic's assistance or, in a more convenient scenario, have Shadow be the one to take down Eggman in Sonic's absence considering he was trying to pursue Dr. Eggman 2 issues previously and felt indebted to Sonic an issue before?
18:26 - What is Sleeping Egg Zone? It appears to be under construction in some way, yet there's a lot of grass/moss growing everywhere indicating a naturalistic environment. What does Sleeping mean anyway?
20:20 - Would you be willing to talk about your plans for archie Megaman 5 arc? I’m curious to how you’d handle protoman/darkman mixup and how potentially tempo would react
23:16 - Is G.U.N supposed to be the military of the United Federation (the USA analogue) or is it more of an international peace-keeping force like N.A.T.O? G.U.N does seem to have quite a few naval ports including on the island area in Sonic Rush. Is G.U.N an army for everyone or does the U.F use them as a sort of "world police" to compete with Eggman? (I wish I had better wording... I've just been watching too much mecha anime.)

29:18 - Hey Ian and Kyle! In SA1, the original Tornado was destroyed and replaced with the Tornado 2, then in SA2 it's replaced by the Tornado 3 (AKA Cyclone), then we see the Tornado 2 again in Heroes, and a different Tornado 3 in Unleashed. Since Sonic 4 the Tornado seems to have reverted to the design of the original in every game. What's the deal with the Tornado, and is the current plane a repaired version of the original or a Tornado 4? Thanks, and keep up the good work.

18:23 As Kyle said, yeah, Sleeping Egg Zone is supposed to be a dream world created by Eggman, with "Sleeping" referring to that. The Game Gear games actually have a lot of information on the locations and levels in their Japanese manuals, with some interesting tidbits (Aqua Planet being a planet in another dimension, Robotnik Winter being a tropical island undergoing a nuclear winter from the Atomic Destroyer, Meta Junglira being an unexplored prehistoric jungle, etc.).
The format for the AU thing on Sonic Channel is: They present the AU/situation alongside the main character featured for the month and then they let people vote for the second character involved on Twitter.
I'm looking forward to their reaction for all of them, next is apparently focused on Fortune Teller Amy featuring Blaze.
Suffice to say, I want that shoujo high school romance with Metal Sonic.

In the post-SGW Archie Sonic universe, there’s Genesis Portals, shards of the previous multiverse. What would happen if all 7 Chaos Emeralds were used in a Genesis Portal? Would it reunite shards, and merge them into the new multiverse?

I think Sonic is maybe the most rational character in Boom. He often plays the “only sane man” and there are times where Amy acts dumb, gullible, and crazy like everyone else, like when she was fooled into thinking Tommy Thunder and Swifty were heroes, or when she mistook a meteor for a shooting star and tried to make a wish on it.
I disagree. Sticks is the most sane. Everything that would sound crazy in our world is a real danger in her world. Everyone else is insane by ignoring it.
Yeah, Sonic is the only sane man depending on the episode. Other times, Amy plays the role because Sonic is also quite silly as a action junkie.

How is wishing on shooting stars make her less sane? Btw a shooting star is a meteor, she and everyone (except sticks) didn’t expect a whole shower tho.

Question: If Heavy and Bomb appeared in a classic special what alignment would they be? Good like how their Archie counterparts were (...usually). Evil trying to fool the good guys, which was a possibility raised in Chaotix. Or perhaps a case of both genuinely trying to be good but are so incompetent at it, that it leads the cast wondering if Eggman was trying to pull something with both of them?
I wanna see a comic of somebody being sad because their romantic rival is putting the moves on their crush and Omega's solution of "Can you light on fire?" inspires a fucking attempted murder.

What's your interpretation on Kirby as a character? I personally see him as a somewhat impulsive wanderer, only ever answering questions shortly rather than starting conversations, but is still friendly.
Can sonic theoretically go Dark like in sonic x? Also what do you think of the different sonics throughout the multiverse in one chat group? I read a fanfiction about that called Club Chilidog.

@@gracekim25 I’ve had suspicions that the two were connected, but there’s no proof of that yet, so I’m not giving up hope yet. We’ve only seen one third of the show so far. But if there were no alternate versions of Sonic, I’d be disappointed.

Question: So I never interpreted Shadow as being a GUN Agent and kind of hate the idea. In 06 the handler he speaks to always calls Rouge 'Agent Rouge', but only calls him 'Shadow', and once Rouge is rescued Shadow tells her he wants no further part in the mission and for the rest of the game the handler only talks to her, which led me to believe he was just doing them a favour because she was in trouble. People say he was going through GUN training in his own game's expert mode, but it's Eggman who explains that training to him at the start, so it seems more likely he set it up (and Gerald and Maria talk to him later on in it, so it's probably not canon at all). Have you ever had guidance from Sega saying Shadow is an agent of GUN, or was Shadow the Cop just a fan/Archie interpretation?
37:56 that episode is Sticks and Amy’s Excellent Staycation. 41:29 really? They’re not outright villains? I would’ve thought they were villains, since they teamed up with Eggman and the Egg Bosses when they were freed from her control. I can see Carrotia and Bearenger as not being evil, though I’m guessing Bearenger would still be antisocial, rude, and have anger issues. But since Falke is characterized as a bloodthirsty psycho, I have a hard time imagining him as not being evil.
They teamed up with eggman mainly to get back at Wendy at that moment. They aren’t saints, but they’re not eggboss levels. Like, slightly below hooligans and Babylon rogues.
@@charismaentertainer1657 they still teamed up with the most evil person on their planet. And yeah, Sonic has teamed up with Eggman, but unlike the Witchcarters, he’s always very reluctant to do so, and he only does it to save the world, not to get revenge on someone. Revenge typically isn’t treated as a noble motive.
@@supersonicfan7514 I feel like they cared less about the fact they were working with eggman and more about the fact they could get pay back for years of mind messing. They weren’t stated to be good people by Ian anyway, just not villains. Reminder, they’ve supposedly been under whichcarts control for years, as far back as sonic 2 at least. They have a reason to not care if it’s noble or not to pummel her into the dirt for making them so far worse.

Is the Spin Attack/Spin dash something that every humanoid animal character can naturally do in Sonic's world, or is it an ability only a select few have.
In the original Sonic 2 manual, it was stated Tails learned the move when he first met Sonic, but if that's the case how does that explain other characters like Knuckles having the move before they met Sonic?
Are we to take all of the Sonic Heroes using the move in the gameplay as something they can literally do in canon?

Is Super Neo Metal Sonic as powerful as Super Sonic in the IDW universe?
Um I have a small question: I um was looking stuff up regarding the chaos emeralds and the ‘super chaos emeralds’ are described as a enhanced state caused by the Master emerald, that I understand….but the the sonic creator claims they’re in ‘another dimension’😅 it caused my mind to explode 🤯 I…how would you um explain that in a way that makes sense if possible?😅 every time I try to figure it out, I break….feel like the dimension thing shouldn’t have been stated if they ARE the chaos emeralds and not separate 🤷♀️

Question: Is Metal Overlord no longer allowed to be used be sega? A near identical robot appears in the IDW comics achieved through similar means but is named ''Master Overlord'', was the name change made intantionally to differentiate the two or was it a sega mandate?
when Master Overlord appeared Metal Overlord was banned, Master Overlord was Ian's way getting around that so he could use metal overlord without using "metal overlord"

Maximizing total happiness is a good thing, right?
Most people like gems, but Rouge loooooves gems. Shouldn't then all gems belong to Rouge? It would greatly improve average happiness in the world.
But then Rouge gets all the diamonds, but diamonds are necessary to make dentist drills. Rouge will be unhappy if her teeth will hurt and there would be no dentist with diamond drills to heal them.

I had the same issue with prime, no alternative Sonic. They could have done some funny stuff there. Think Nine and Rusty Rose are the best alternative characters.
