Great documentary. I was working for Sound Image as an engineer in the early 2000's and worked with many bands on the road. We all got paid for the set-ups and tear-downs but we did the shows "for free". I loved it. I did it until the wife said "you missed your boy's first steps." No matter how much I loved it, I was back home that next weekend. He just graduated so guess where I'm heading? As I recall there is nothing sexy about 7 stinky guys on a bus but the atmosphere was great.
Such an inspirational documentary!! So nice to see soneone not jaded by fame!! One of the highest motivated musicians out there. And a fantastic human being to start with. I firmly believe it was divine intervention that I came across this documentary. I have been fighting cancer and was literally about to end my life prematurely when I came across this and his story was inspirational in stopping me. Thank you Rich. And to your band mates as well.
My 3 favorite drummers: Carter Beauford, Jimmy Chamberlain and Rich Redmond. RR for his ability to play with command, serve the artist , the songs and live performances. And great attitude.
Loved being a part of this. So much talent and so many top notch professionals. Makes me miss grand gee too. I owe a great deal of gratitude to you guys for inspiring the man I am now. Forever grateful for David taking a shot on the filthy mouth rapper from Hazel Green.... Hope you're doing well Rich! - Stephen (Finesse)
"We can program this later." Happens a lot. One of Nashville's top drummers, Paul Leim, has midi sensors on all his drums and records the midi while laying down killer tracks. He knows that the producer may want to do some...augmenting in post and accommodates that.
So I’ve been playing bass for two yrs. And I don’t understand the musicians in my town that won’t help, are people so afraid of others. It blows my mind.I’m not after their jobs I just want to play. I’m pushing 50 as it is lol. I appreciate your willingness to teach others. Your bass player sounds amazing. Awesome documentary.
Thanks for sharing, Rich! Awesome stuff. So good to see someone with such a fantastic attitude who is part of a team of like-minded, creative musicians playing together. These are such uplifting stories. Sorry to hear you were hit by the flood, but to maintain your attitude through it is fantastic.
Hey Rich. Thanks. Nice job getting the vibe across. Whew blond singer. Hope you make it big and if not, hope you enjoy every minute of being a professional musician.
Rich has it figured out. I will testify, as a producer, what he says here is gospel: master your instrument, don't be an asshole. As to those curmudgeonly old players... sometimes I need those guys, but I know I will have to manage them. I do and we always part friends having laid down some great tracks. First and foremost, this is a people business.
Great story!! You nailed it on the head when you said you gotta be a people person. It is tough sometimes but thats where your second comment comes in.. Persistence. Living the dream man, Living the dream!! Happy for ya.
This was great Rich. I met you at one of your clinics a few years ago, was one of my favorites because it was centered around work ethics instead of chops.
Rich this is awesome, thanks for sharing this! At 38 and playing drums since I was 9, I get a little closer (and smarter) about choosing to be a working musician after watching and reading everything you put out along the way. See you sometime soon!
Just watching this. Man, if it was you playing in Denver, Oct. 2021 with Jason, you were a badass and serious! Loved every minute of it! Always been a fan of drummers, started with a set of sticks I got from Chris Layton in Alaska right before SRV died.
Thank you for this. Not a country player, but I feel for all the people that lost their instruments..their babies..in that flood. I've heard horror stories. Best Regards/Wishes to all!
That flood...one of my first call guys made the comment that the fact that the rental agreements specifically stated the facility did not have flood insurance...well, a little common sense would have suggested that place was not the place to put your stuff.
Rich this video is freaking awesome man! None of your videos get old specially the go pro live ones! Any more of those coming out? Keep up the great hard work!
5:30: Tully Kennedy, thanks for the off-the cuff teaching and tutoring. Bass guitar get no f***ing respect? Nobody ever says they want to play bass guitar? Gonna change that? That's easy classroom material to remember.
3:58 So 20% are somehow active? That's actually fantastic. I would never complain about anything because I am usually dealing with a success rate of 1% or less.
6:06 thats the shit! The snare hit is life. I would hate to be in the studio with “jokers” like that all day. I’d go crazy, but i guess they joke like that because they think thats what a “personality” is. The drummer may be nerdy or whatever but he has heart and passion. That is what music is about!
So you are some of the fools that committed Murder on Music Row>??????? I came a played my True Country Music in 1003.....When it seemed Country Was Alive ans well. Dang Y'all.

I’m not even a musician but I love these kinds of documentaries because they always have engaging main characters nicely done🤘🏻

Hey William, how are you doing?

Yep. Don't even need that now. It's all done with Pro Tools in the box.

Thanks Rich. You're living the dream in reality, which has always been my dream that never transpired!!

Awesome vid Rich. Love the ballad in the middle in particular. Sounds are huge and great feel!

Thanks very much for this. Very interesting. At 7.30 and 9.10 sounds like you are playing 'Ticket to Ride'.
This was great Rich. I met you at one of your clinics a few years ago, was one of my favorites because it was centered around work ethics instead of chops.

If I ever moved to Nashville it would be to pursue the dream of being a male tenor harmony/ back up singer in session work!

Hey rich, who is on your Mt Rushmore of drummers? Be interesting to know. Thanks 😊
Happy not to hear a bunch of snap tracks.... Lol. Great work bud! Happy New Year!
I loved this documentary, thank you Rich & and guys.
Thank you for this. Not a country player, but I feel for all the people that lost their instruments..their babies..in that flood. I've heard horror stories. Best Regards/Wishes to all!
Great vid
These type of players seem more like pro athletes than artistic musicians, but that is why they have the "Artist" and the players.
Who was the female singer in the beginning? Great to see you in your element, Rich.
Good
I'm a little late to seeing this. Thanks Rich great stuff here!
Awesome.Im past the time of “living the Dream “ but it’s this exactly what it takes to get the job .And keep it .
Thx Rich ,always a class act 😎
Thanks Ian! Check this out! bit.ly/CRASHbook
That was really good. Hope your still doing well..!
Great Video! Truly inspiring for me.
...Opening riff......sounded like "Copperhead Road"........."Well my name's John Lee Pettimore....same as my daddy and his day before...."

Great documentary! I’m definitely a fan!
Awesome, thank you!

Extremely inspirational!

The comment about boredom and terror was taken from "Apollo 13”.
Excellent friend!!
Amazing video!

Dude You Rock!!!
Great information!
Beauts brotha
Don't worry Rich, nobody else will ever be Virgil Donati :p Great video man, thanks!
Cool.
Great work, great content, great energy, nice one Rich and the guys
How long does a pair of drumsticks last you, working this much?
Just depends....:)))
wanted it to be longer
Spectrasonics Trilian VST can replace ANY bassplayer. 😀
DM awesome!!
Jason always looks unhappy. I like his stuff, but jeez, smile once in awhile!
Who sings the song called “that’s life”
Justin Bassey that's what I was gonna ask.
What song is that at 17:05?
Two songs today...no, no, no. If you can't do a song per hour, then get outta town!
Well, if it weren't for TBI's, there wouldn't be any bass players. Thank's TBI's!! lol
This should be called"Your Bass Player is a Dick."
Bass player has such a chip on his shoulder, but it doesn’t matter you can use a lap top to do a bass line,
The bass player seems very insecure
So you are some of the fools that committed Murder on Music Row>??????? I came a played my True Country Music in 1003.....When it seemed Country Was Alive ans well. Dang Y'all.
Enjoyed this a lot. Thanks much for posting !
