    I wish any of my gates had turned out anywhere close to being this level!😂😂😂 Well done and thanks for all the easy to follow instructions.

    Thank you very much you have no idea how much I've learned from your videos. I may not have all the fancy tools and stuff but I work with what I have and it always works out if I do it the way you are showing, explaining to us. From the positions of the boats and to all those other little things that believe it or not do matter if you decide to do a mall in different manners without having an order. Thank you

      @@SWiFence Couldn’t I assemble the gate, drop rod, and hinges then measure the distance between where both hinges attach to the end posts so I don’t have to do multiple measurements? It seems like a safer method to me. Am I missing something?

    • @SWiFence
      @SWiFence  2 роки тому

      Sure. Just make sure they're in a straight line and the fork latch is falling where you want it to. It feels more troublesome to me but you could definitely do that. 👍🏻

    I wish you had installed the fence and gate at my mom's instead of the hilljack that did. Thanks for helping me figure out how to correct the best I can and keep my dog inside the fence that currently won't stay latched.

    Great video, two questions for you. I have an existing fence that I want to put a gate in by using existing fence. Do you have a video for that and would you use two posts to carry the weight or just replace the existing posts with a thicker post? (No concrete, dirt). Also, what's that machine that you used to cut the drop post's pipe? Thanks.

    • @SWiFence
      @SWiFence  Рік тому +1

      We've got a video for that: ua-cam.com/video/eWmv83ZK_YQ/v-deo.html This fence is on concrete, but the principles would be the same for set posts. Yes, you'll want to use end post thickness for your two gate posts--don't try to double-up posts somewhere, that'll look super funky.
      And I think you're referring to the deep-cut bandsaw. 👍🏻

  • @DanielLopez-le3yh

    Thank you for the video. My question is, when calculating your measurements, and you laid your retaining post, did you include the diameter of the post into your measurements? Or, did you only measure from from post hinge to post hinge? I might’ve missed it so I’ll rewatch the video

    • @SWiFence
      @SWiFence  11 місяців тому

      Hinge to hinge. You're measuring for the space _between_ the posts.

    Thank you for showing how to do a professional install. You made it look super easy. Do you sell hardware on line?
    FYI
    Home Depot & Lowe’s show the parts on line for order to store or shipping. They don’t seem to cary stock on all items all the time.

    • @SWiFence
      @SWiFence  9 місяців тому

      We do carry some hardware online! It's usually not price-practical to buy the pipe and mesh from a distance, but we've got a great selection of fittings as well.

    Doing what only Dan can.
    Hanging up two gates,
    As as quickly as rabbits procreate.
    While spewing a bounty of Hintful Tips,
    Like slobber from a nursing calf’s lips!
    Just one question though,
    I certainly must know.
    How come that gate post,
    Was left from least to most?
    The suspense has me bound,
    To wait the next video’s come around.

    Funny I can never get the gap between gates to be the right distance either. Always too much or too tight despite many measurements. The drop rods we use are nothing but gate hinges and a galvanized solid rod. The rod goes into concrete or we just drill a hole in the coral rock and shove a pipe in it. I am curious though what your tatooos look like, maybe one day wear a sleeveless shirt? LOL!

    How much do think charge for ft!! Plus gates

    • @SWiFence
      @SWiFence  Рік тому +1

      There's no quick answer to that, Hector. It's about what you need to charge to cover the cost of the materials, cost of getting to the job, cost of labor, cost of overhead, and make a profit on top of that. We are the most expensive fence company in our area--and we need to be to maintain our business model. We just make sure we do the best work to make it worth it to the customer.

    i NEED HELP-
    trying to rehang a chain link gate that is about 8 or more feet wide--it came off the hinges very easily---but now to reset the gate the male part is NOT going into the female part of the hinge. no matter what i do. i even tried reaming out the hole and using a dremel to thin out the male part. i am not that strong at age 71 and cannot afford a handy man.
    should i just buy new parts?
    or do you know an easy way?

      Hey boss. If the gate hinges were loose or askew and had some weird weight on it, very probable improper swinging bent it and caused it not to fit right. Hardware for the gate is cheap, and each piece is sold by itself if you only need one component

  • @killuminatepeacefulness3948
