7029 ‘Clun Castle’ working 1Z48 ‘The Great Western’ at Powderham - Saturday 11/05/2024

Vintage Trains commemorated the 60th Anniversary of ‘The Great Western High Speed’ Ian Allan railtour, which took place on Saturday 9th May 1964, with a special two-day tour that on day two ran from Plymouth to Birmingham Snow Hill via Bristol Temple Meads, Bath, London Paddington and Oxford.
This video sees 7029 ‘Clun Castle’ passing Powderham on the Plymouth to Bristol leg, wearing the ‘Z48’ reporting headcode, just as she wore 60 years ago - the 1 of 1Z48 being donated by the express lamp headcode.
