    I have a 2013 F150 with the 3.5L Ecoboost that just got a new timing set, oil pump, exhaust manifolds, and new turbo seals and all new hoses. I did a bunch of work to it. On startup, it ran like a sewing machine. Happily, I took it on a drive. Got the P0365 CEL and was mortified that it had jumped time or I had some other horrible, time consuming and expensive repair to do. After watching this video, I ran to O'Reilly's and got a new sensor, swapped it out, cleared the codes in the computer. On startup the P0365 code came back.
    I checked the new sensor and sure enough, there was something stuck to the tip of it. I cleaned it off with a clean rag and put it back in the valve cover. I think checked the connector. Although nothing was obvious, I cleaned the pins with contact cleaner, then reconncted it to the sensor. I squeezed it on as hard as I could and it made an audible click. Since then, it has run better than the day I bought it.
    If you have the dreaded P0365 code, follow the advice in this video, and check your connector(s).

    Thank you for your beautiful video. Is the bank one A and B sensor both the same for the intake and exhaust? Bank 1&2

    Just got my turbos replaced, I have the codes p0012, p0024 and p0299. Any help or advice?

    • @cobravids
      @cobravids  8 місяців тому +1

      Looks like it all had to do with the turbos. If you just had them replaced, I would return to who did the work in order to test for failures. I have read that if these turbos are not properly installed, oil won't pump up as it needs and will cause premature failure.
      The one code involves your camshaft. This could be the timing solenoid or even the exhaust cam gear ring, which has been known to spin on the camshaft. It's a flaw in the design that causes this loose ring.
      Look for major oil leaks. Check your intercooler tubes for openings or cracks.
      I would want to do some more diagnostic on the turbos to confirm that they are not the cause.

      @@cobravidsthanks for the fast response I appreciate it. I’m dropping it off at a different that specializes in 3.5 ecoboosts and gonna have them go thru the turbo job etc. if they find something wrong with the turbos I’ll then bring it to the shop that installed them. Hoping its nothing huge

    Particles get carried by oil,,, think oil that helps keeps that suspended till hits oil filter 😊

      Correct. What i was concerned is where are these magnetic materials coming from. Bearings are aluminum, they wont stick to a magnetic surface. So its a magnetic metal. I havent seen that much stuck to a magnet like that.

    Could it be my o2 sensor if that’s what is popping up on the computer

    • @cobravids
      @cobravids  10 місяців тому

      This code can be a few things. The most common thing I found in my research is the signal "gear" that is on this camshaft breaks loose and spins freely. Throwing off the computer. In my case, it was a dirty, if not malfunctioning sensor.
      Have you removed that sensor and looked at it?
      If anything an aftermarket replacement is 20.00. If it still has this issue, then you need to look at that signal gear inside the valve cover.
      I did not read anything to indicate o2 sensors. But I'm not saying it couldnt be a problem. I just didn't find that information.
      O2 sensors usually give a code that indicates lean or rich, or even o2 sensors directly.
      O2 sensors or catalytic issues can sometimes throw a P0420

    Any tips for ecoboost to keep the life of it going ? :)

    • @cobravids
      @cobravids  Рік тому +1

      Yes! One important thing to do is keep your oil clean. The turbos in this truck, and other turbo I'm sure does not do well with dirty oil. If you find any oil leaks be sure to repair them and make sure it's not coming from turbo oil supply lines. A dry turbo is a dead turbo.
      Other than that just keep it lubed and replace things as they begin to show the signs.

    I’m going through this now, 1st mechanic told me 6,000-10,000 to fix. I’m going with that guy is a fraud. Have the exact same p0365 code and that is the only one. Dude told me I’ll need a new engine

    • @cobravids
      @cobravids  Місяць тому

      @ryennaustin-brown8309 That's a lie. Mine was solved by cleaning that camshaft sensor. If your isnt so easy then its the tone gear on that camshaft thats slipping on the camshaft. At most you will have to have that camshaft replaced. Try replacing.or even cleaning off that sensor. I havent had any problems since i cleaned mine.
      Its a flaw in the design. That tone gear is pressed on, not welded or otherwise attached. Thats why they slip.
      Try resetting all the codes. Will it run fine for awhile?

    So there was nothing In the video about p0299, turbo under pressure, just cam sensor

    • @cobravids
      @cobravids  7 місяців тому

      You are correct. That shaft sensor causes the error code with the turbo. The research we found pointed to it. After we cleaned it the codes cleared up and has not come back.
      Thanks for the comment. Be safe.

    • @cobravids
      @cobravids  7 місяців тому

      Also, I'm not saying that is the ONLY issue that can cause it just one of.
