- The plaintiff met the defendant on a dating website, and he gave her money to pay for various bills with the agreement that she’d pay him back. However, the plaintiff says he found out the defendant was married, and she never paid him back, so the plaintiff is suing. The defendant claims she met the plaintiff on a website where men pay women for companionship, but the plaintiff couldn’t handle that type of arrangement and became aggressive.

Exactly right. And just like the judge said, if there are questions that she has about the testimony, she's going to ask them, and he has to answer them. He made a choice to come on the show and file the lawsuit. It would be no different in regular court, and it would also be a public record. The people's court didn't have to air this episode, so it wouldn't necessarily be of any kind of public record. But in regular court, it would be, perhaps forever.
