Im a martial artist and I remember when I joined on. I was a good year into it, my teacher was trying to teach me but I was impatient to learn and I had adhd. But I tried my damndest to learn. I nearly actually quit even though I didn't want to. Then a little cousin of mine made me watch dragonballz with him. I didn't like it at first but after one episode I was completely hooked. It was of gohan attacking Majin buus egg and goku and vegeta headbutting each other that in a way it simplified what my master was trying to teach me. I went back into it with a new sense of gusto. I began working out hard and learning the techniques he was teaching me. And each time I watched dragonball or dbz, I would always plan my next training around it and I loved each minute of it. I'm now a teacher with my own students and I encourage them also to watch a Lil dbz here and there lol. God bless you Akira toriyama. Thank you so much for the memories you gave us. Can't put into words how helpful this man's art remains to be in the lives of I and my little brother. The inspirational philosophies running throughout Toriyama's work can transform a person both physically and spiritually into a better, stronger version of themselves. In a way, he saved the lives many young men over the years.

Because of him, we got to find the dragon balls, see the birth of the super saiyan, see the prince earn his birthright, see the perfect lifeform, and even further beyond. Not him, nor the stories and lessons he imparted to all of us will ever be lost or forgotten. RIP you absolutely legend.

Bro, I didn't know you also had a Dragon Ball Theory channel...you're the biggest fan of the 2 things I'm the biggest fan of too. But Dragon Ball is and always will be nr 1 for me. My favorite story and characters of all time. Toriyama's passing affected me in a way I didn't expect...I am in grief. But you know, as grandpa Gohan said: "Saying goodbye is never easy but it is a necessary step before we can say hello again....". We will see him in Other World, champ. But hopefully not too soon...☁❤‍🩹

Toriyama deserves his rest after a long life of joint problems and pushing on to create stories and characters to help improve our lives. His sense of humour, designs and absolute mastery of his craft made all of our day to daily lives so much better and for some including myself, he made it possible to live outside of torture.

We lost a true legend. Toriyama single handedly pioneered I would say anime and manga not only in the west but I would say over the world. I am from south America, Brazil, and I can say with conviction that his work, I would say second only to saint Seiya and yu yu hakusho, was every mid to late 80s kids outing from whatever they were going through. I am privileged to have been able to take part in his work and grow up with him as an inspiration. RIP Toriyama Akira. Mangaka legend.

Akira Toriyama is such a legend. I’ve also grown up with Dr. Slump and not only the Dragon Ball franchise, but his character designs for my favorite JRPG games are incredible. Dragon Quest, Chrono Trigger, Blue Dragon etc.
Toriyama sensei, thank you so much for everything you’ve done for millions of fans around the world. You are such a genius who inspired many manga artists. For my final wish, I wish I could revive you with the Dragon Balls. My condolences from the bottom of my heart to your family and friends.
    Rest in peace.

You made me tear up when you showed your old drawings. It reminded me of the hours and hours I spent drawing DBZ characters when I was a child.
It's time to draw Goku again for old time's sake.

Everybody is going to be shedding tears over this tragedy, one of the most iconic manga artists is dead. I still remember seeing Dragon Ball Z Kai on Nicktoons as a kid and being intrigued by it, so the next time I went to Blockbuster I saw outside in the bargain bin was Cooler's Revenge. I watched that movie special so many times and even though I didn't know what was going on I was interested in finding more. My next big step was when a friend gave me a his old Dragon Ball Z DVD and it contain three episodes from the Buu Saga, that's when I was hooked.
Over the next three years, I had my father buy me the the orange bricks box sets with the legendary Bruce Faulconer music and I was so obsessed with this franchise I start drawing my own comics with the main character being myself as Goku. It was called something like John Ball Z, Joku the super Jaiyan. LOL!!! Rest in Peace to the man himself Akira Toriyama, I hope he's in a better place still drawing.

What I loved seeing the most, was how impactful it was across the world and how it united so many cultures. I've never seen videos of people from many different countries watching together, celebrating Goku. I know speaking for myself, and how it impacted my life, I wouldn't be who I am today if it wasn't for Akira Toriyama and what he created. Through all of my darkest days, I always remembered what our heroes in this show would do and even to this day as a 30+ year old man I still utilize these foundations. I'm forever grateful to Akira Toriyama for what he gave me and many of us, one incredible childhood and heroes to forever to inspire to be like, even if they're fictional. Rest in peace Akira, we will miss you

I never really got into Dragon ball but my old best friend used to be obsessed with it and made me play a few games and watch a few episodes and films so I know basics, but despite me not watching dragon ball personally knowing how influential he was to anime and magma in general and what DB did for so many millions of people this still hits hard, just one guy and a passion changed the world of anime.
