Simplifying my purses has been SO helpful and freed up a whole shelf in my closet! I have one black leather purse and one tan leather purse both medium size and go with anything style. I also kept one small and one large backpack for day trips and travel. That’s it! I did it over a year ago and have not missed a thing! The only change I made was to get a higher quality black purse and give my older one to charity.
I have a very small, leather crossbody for travel, and a small, leather crossbody for everyday. These are high quality, more expensive pieces, but I use them heavily. I have 2 other medium purses and 1 tote, that I have had for years. When I get the hankering for variety I pull one of those out, but I have been considering cutting one of them out this year. It was a terrible adjustment to go from years of carrying large purses, but I finally realized that I was basically just carrying around a large trash can/filing cabinet. Love the freedom of the smaller purse now for sure!
My comfort place... jewelry - simple and elegant but quality pearl studs, diamond studs, silver smaller hoops, and gold smaller hoops purses - black for fall/winter and a blush/pale pink for spring/summer Dooney and Bourke crossbody purse (also turns into a shoulder strap)
I’m in one of your older videos to get inspiration on parting with tons of jewelry. Most junk. Many SS pieces and natural stones. Wow! I’m impressed. I parted with over 75% of it today but to some what is left may still like like allot.
I have never been a 'jewelry person'. I have a set of pearls, a gold necklace, a silver necklace, and a bracelet. I do not wear earrings. Most of the times I just go without jewelry. Have it all in a drawer....I love the small crossbody purses! I have three: black, brown, and a navy blue. I keep these in a basket in my closet. Simple and minimal. LOVE your new purse with the zippers on it!
Me, everytime after watching one of your videos: oh, I need to simplify MORE! haha but I love seeing how little we need to live in a time when owning excess is "in"
Tara Gainey I agree Tara! Love her ideas!! Minimalism is my LIFE NOW and if you had seen my previous large beautiful home, you would not believe all I have purged!😂 I hate to think about it because it shouts gluttony in my head! (10 tubs of Christmas decor is INSANE!)
Thankyou for saying often, that it might take a few years, to reach this level of minimal. Being a Gramma, and an asthmatic, I am impatient, and wondered if there was something wrong with me, because it is taking so long. I get so excited at the thought that it will happen, it is happening, and I love finding someone who wants my good junk. Love to listen to you and your sis, too.
I just decluttered jewelry. Gave some costume stuff to charity. Put 2 gold ones in quarantine because I don’t like them much-they were gifts. I found 2 necklaces I love in that drawer! I moved everything onto a shelf of my closet so I can see them better. I’m using them so much more. I separated the studs and other easy to put on jewelry in one decorative ashtray in a drawer, and the others, more dressy, next to them. I’m so happy! I’m not digging through things I don’t love, and wearing what I do. You have been a huge help in decluttering, Dawn!!
I went from a big sack style purse to a wristlet and I LOVE it - no more holding on to everyone else's junk, and having the wrist strap means I don't forget it, because I have done that too!
Hi, Dawn! This 58-year-old subscriber loves what you have to say. I work in an office where I see the same people day in & day out. In January I started limiting the wardrobe I wore. I can EASILY wear the same slacks 4 days out of the week without anyone being the wiser. Others notice us a lot less than we think they do. Blessings to you & your clan!
I disagree. I think people DO notice, but people aren’t going to actually SAY anything. I definitely notice when people wear the same thing. Doesn’t bother me, but people do notice.
I've simplified my purse down to a small metal wallet that fits in my back pocket along with my cell phone in the other. I do keep lotion and stuff in my car but it is so freeing to be able to shop without a purse. I do have a small crossbody I wear if I don't have pockets, but totally prefer just the wallet in the pocket.
Two years later and here I am! We have a pretty decluttered house but I LOVE watching you and your sweet family! We are from northern suburbs of the twin cities so I see a lot of similarities in your weather and ours, so much so that it feels like I’m right at home watching your channel! Love this ! Thanks for sharing your life with us.
Oh, I sooo agree on purses..Big bag=Big junk. I have been using small crossbody bags for years now and I love them. Hands free and it's always with me!
I love minimalism for jewelry and accessories. I used to have so much jewelry I didn't wear much of it at all--spoiled for choice. Now my few necklaces and earrings are displayed on a corkboard, like art. Sadly I don't own a purse. I have a great travel bag that carries everything I might need while out, but it's usually in the trunk of my car. While shopping I carry a little money and a debit card in my pants pocket, and the phone in my hand or pants pocket. The travel bag has mostly things like a reusable water bottle, chapstick, DIY lotion, toiletries, spare glasses, and the like. I don't need to carry it into stores. It's more of a security blanket because I could really get through a day without it.
I think the way to think about having so few pieces is that your have acquired a carefully curated collection of beloved items! I also don't see anything wrong with wearing the same pieces of jewelry every day, even at the office. I found that a beautiful framed cork board with unusual push pins is a very special way to display my 5 items I chose to keep. The little bag is beautiful and functional. Enjoy your upcoming trips! Always a pleasure to watch your videos!
I love the crossbody purses so convenient when running errands and keeps hands free. Ohhhh I have so much jewelry I could be paring down...I'll be adding that to the list!
I just have a small, black wristlet that holds my phone, lipstick, gum, and my cash clips! I also only wear my wedding band now...used to be a big purse and lots of jewelry girl, but it’s feels so nice and light to not worry about any of that! 😊
I was just minimizing my jewelry today. I got rid of a lot but am glad I'm watching this as I see I can get rid of more. I've been holding onto sentimental items I never wear. I also have a bunch of beautiful earrings that I've lost one piece to. Everytime I look at them I feel bad that I've lost so many lovely earrings. Time to clear out the bad feelings.
I have one black purse that is medium size, one red wallet purse for weddings, one tiny, dressy, sequined purse, and a waist "wallet." I primarily use the black purse. It holds a wallet with a soft loop handle that "houses" my cards, cash, gift cards, license, library card, phone and keys, etc. It can be removed from my purse for going into a store or restaurant. I used to carry a very large purse, but I am enjoying carrying a smaller one, and I find myself carrying the wallet/purse more and more often. I find your comments on jewelry to be very timely. I am going to revisit my jewelry again. I, also, tend to wear a few choice pieces over and over again. I do not wear earrings or bracelets; I wear necklaces frequently (even around the house) and a watch. You are very motivating and convincing and darling, Dawn. I love your attitude and your energy and joy. :)
I used to have a crazy amount of jewelry collection. So glad that I've simplified all that. I only wear a very simple everyday earring nowadays, very subtle ones, and I have one pair of pearl stud earrings for special occasion. Super simple and easy for me to manage.
I have a 4 month old and a 7 and 4 years old , all boys, so i love my Azaria diaper bag, best bag ever, backpack or cross body style and holds just everything i need to fit in it, super fun and easy for travels hook on the stroller or everyday!! Doesnt look like a dialer bag and thats a mega plus cause we moms can kinda look put together!! Nice little bag for u !!! Thanks for shring!
For my birthday next week I didn’t want anything new. I’m happy with everything I already have. So I gave all my jewellery to my friend who is a jeweller. She is fixing my broken pieces and cleaning and polishing the rest. I don’t have a huge collection, but love what I have. I can’t wait to see it all brought back to life 😊❤️
I'm with you, Dawn! A smaller crossbody purse works great for me. When I travel or will be away from home most of the day, I have a larger purse that I can hold my crossbody/wallet, a zippered pouch that holds incidentals I may need and my sunglass case. As for jewelry...I wear the same things over and over in my casual lifestyle. I love your encouragement and example in living simply--love your content too!
Love that little purse, I like the cross body ones to keep my hands free. Yes, I actually had a mid size jewelry box and one day, cleaning off my dresser, realized I hardly ever wore anything in it, So I put it on a buy and sell - the jewelry box and all of the jewelry in it that I didn’t use and somebody bought it in a couple of hours and I have never missed it. Lol That was a couple of years ago now and I have actually never missed it. You do a good job coaching simplifying, as you just make so much sense. ❤️
I always notice your signature earrings... love them on you!! My collection isn't quite as streamlined as yours but I have significantly reduced and refined my jewelry, and I like how I look and how easy it is to pick something I want to wear. Love the teardrop shapes. So pretty.
I’ve simplified my jewelry! I wear the same thing every day and then I have two gold statement necklaces that I wear occasionally. I have a real string of pearls that I wear for dressing occasions and a pair of pearl earrings to go with the string of pearls! Purses I’ve done too! Just a small one now and a small wallet. Have one crossbody for travel and one black for dress! Loving this simplicity of this!
I agree that keeping on a few pieces of jewelry that you love works best, at least for me it does. I have one necklace, bracelet, diamond earrings, and a watch. Of course my wedding ring, 10 years ago we took all of my diamond rings to our family jeweler and he came up with one band ring for me as my wedding band. I have found a wallet that is a crossbody as well. For work I use a back pack. When I come home from my shift I clean it out and organize it for my next shift. Keep the videos coming !! ❤️ them
I wear one necklace ALL the time. And my wedding ring. That is it and I am happy with it. I carry a wallet in my pocket and keep a couple of items in my car like chapstick and my face compact. I am very happy with having only those few items and continue to pare down other items in our home. I enjoy your videos, including the faith ones.
Love a small cross body bag that is also a wallet. I also have a larger basket that when I need to I throw stuff in like a water bottle and a reusable coffee cup, that ends up in the car. Love your work 💓👍
I like carrying a small purse now because of how light they are, when you carry big ones your shoulders hurt haha! I have a great jewelry hanging type display bag with tons of clear pockets I keep in my closet. It works so great because I can see everything and the jewelry is organized into pockets.
"Nap earrings" have been a game changer for me to always feel more put together. There's a few different companies out there if you Google but it's one less step and I add various earring jackets to make them dangly, romantic, modern, etc.
I have simplified my jewellery, but I need to simplify it more. For me, most of my jewellery is sentimental because they are gifts or pieces friends have made. Your video has motivated me to try harder and get mine down to key pieces. I will have to run these by my main gifter; my hubbie. Purses for me are quite light and small. I have one tiny purse that has a cord that goes across my body and it holds a small wallet and my phone. I also have one small leather backpack purse in case I need to travel with a bit more. Then finally, one large leather cross body (messenger bag) purse for beach and gym. All three purses are pieces of art that a friend made for me and since they are leather, I will have them a long time.
My daughter is a jeweler and has made several beautiful pieces for me, so there is no way I could ever get rid of them. When I downsized and simplified, I did get rid of lots of my "junk" jewelry, but did keep a few pieces that I turn to often. I hate heavy purses, so when I buy them, I pick the lightest ones possible and work really hard to keep from filling them. Since I have been watching you, I stay on point much better, even if the purse is large. I do have 2-3 purses per season to match (coordinate) with my outfits.
Loved this, so helpful. It's such a good idea to borrow things from friends perhaps for special occasions. I have both lent my dresses and borrowed other people's for thing s like weddings. It means those often expensive dresses or outfits get more than one outing and that between us, we can spread the cost. Also, I think that sort of interdependence on each other is fabulous and helps us to connect in a more meaningful way. Thanks so much for your thoughtful words. 😄
,I simplified my jewelery a couple of years ago. I have a lot more then you, but I love holiday and quirky pieces. They make me happy. I got rid of my old giant jewelery boxes and now it fits in one of those hanging organizers with the clear pockets so I can find what I am looking for in a flash. It works for me.
I agree with have just a few pieces of jewelry that I’m drawn to often. My favorites are those that were gifts and heirlooms. My favorite minimal purse is from Bagalini. I wear.it.out!!! Thanks for sharing. Love your videos
I am minimal with clothes, shoes, bags and other accessories, but not jewellery. My husband, who is currently battling terminal cancer, has bought me a lot of jewellery over the years which he has put a lot of thought into and that I love. It’s the one area of my appearance that I put effort. I don’t even wear makeup most days. But a little sparkle, especially when a heartfelt gift, is something I like to have. We all have our things that we love/collect
And I am a single, large bag kind of girl. I like to be prepared and carry all manner of useful item with me. I regularly declutter it to keep it neat. I use it til it falls apart, then typically my mother will buy me a new one for my birthday/Christmas. And I have one smaller, dressy one for the rare occasions I go somewhere fancy.
Wow. This is just the video I needed. I have oodles of jewellery & purses. I can not stand wearing the same jewellery or purse with everything. But I will certainly be downsizing now that I have read all the replies.
I have quite a bit of jewelry, but wear my opal necklace that I've had for 33 years (even wore it for my wedding) almost daily. Then for the past few years I wear faux pearl and diamond studs earrings. These are my go to pieces. If I want to wear silver it usually is my cross necklace and silver hoops. Most of what is in my jewelry cabinet is sentimental pieces and my turquoise pieces that I love to wear on occasion. But I probably could make it with just 2 necklaces and 2 sets of earrings. 😁
Really funny you just made this video because I just simplified my purses and jewelry last week! I'm down to 4 purses and usually wear the same 2, and jewelry probably 5 pairs of earrings, but always wear the same one pair, if I could buy a really expensive pair, I'd toss all of my other ones! No necklaces as they've all broken. Your new purse is so cute!!! I would love the black one!
I too only have a few favorite pieces of jewelry. It all fits in a small 4x6case. I have never been big on carrying a purse. I have 1 small purse that holds my wallet and phone for when my outfit doesnt have pockets, or if for some reason I need to be a little dressy. And slightly larger purse that I use if Im going to be out all day w my daughter. But normally I just carry a super slim rfid card carrier. It goes in one back pocket, and my phone in the other. The only keys I carry are the car key, house, and po box. They fit in my front pocket.
I had a HUGE assortment of Paparazzi jewelry (140 pieces @ $5 ea) that I used to wear a lot when I worked in an office. When I started working from home I sold it ALL to a new Paparazzi consultant for $2 ea and she was thrilled to get it. Now I only have my wedding ring, a pair of nice diamond earrings, a diamond cross pendant and few Pandora charm bracelets. Don’t wear jewelry day to day, but this is enough for any dressy occasion. Love your channel and thanks for inspiring us all to live with less!
At the moment I have a cross body diaper bag which I love but think when I'm out of this stage I'm gonna try a purse like yours! You also inspired me to go through my jewelry again! I don't wear much jewelry and I almost never change it up so I got rid of a few more pieces! Thank you for your encouragement!
Love your videos! I've been using your Onion Method and it fits my style. Marie Kondo's and Whole Room decluttering is overwhelming and left me feeling like a failure. So thank you!
Ahhhhh finally an easy one for me 😘. I have used a crossbody purse for many many years, small plain black goes with everything, whether I’m going on vacation to the Caribbean, a wedding, shopping, it’s perfect. I don’t use the “wallet” style like you have, mine is more of a bag/pouch because of keys, phone, chapstick, feminine products, so it’s big enough for a few things but no junk, if it feels heavy it has something to unload !!!! I’ve had several big purses but I can’t make myself use them, I keep one for when I’m going somewhere for the day and need to take makeup or a days worth of stuff. Jewelry is really easy, I wear the same thing everyday, costume jewelry makes me break out so I have a few pieces of expensive white gold and diamonds and never take them off except to clean and polish them :) soooooo easy !!!!! And just like the purse they go with work or play, dressy or casual !
I struggle a bit with the jewelry....married almost 45 years and many sentimental ones....but you are right in that I have select pieces that I wear more often than others. I have two cross body for every day and one for nice and one bigger for Sunday that fits my Bible and purse items that I use the most. Try to stay with neutral colors, but love the pink/gray crossbody!
I am naturally a minimalist with jewelry which I’m thankful for! I rarely wear anything. I was gifted sapphire earrings when our youngest was born and I literally haven’t taken them out since and that was 18 months ago. It would be nice to have a couple necklaces like you have that I can switch out. I just never usually think about it since I’m home so much with kids as well!
I minimized both jewelry and handbag “collections” ( always feel silly saying that) I keep a dark (black) and a light (silver) short necklace and long necklace. I wear the dark necklaces with light tops and the light necklaces with dark tops so that they show up. I chooses either the short or the long based on the neckline of my blouse. It has made everything so much easier. For handbags, I keep a tote for travel, a “nice bag”, a cross body and a formal bag. That’s it.
I love, love, love seeing your house in the videos. Everything is so streamlined, neat and clutter free, which is how I try to live (we have 4 kids too, so TRY is the word). But anyway, it makes my heart happy.
Two years late, but I've watched all the current videos, so this was recommended. These are my two areas that I don't want to simplify. I love my purses and jewelry. Haha. However, since I've used your tips to simplify everything else in my closet, my purses and jewelry fit just fine. 😂😉
I have a beautiful structured chain and I have a few different pendants that I swap out when I’m feeling like I need a change. This system works really well for me! Purses are my kryptonite though! 😏
I have an entire closet designated for my costume jewelry that I have been collecting for years. I have just begun to declutter my home, and I know I need to address this, but I am dreading making those decisions. I LOVE my costume jewelry! It is so much fun putting unique items with outfits to make the whole look pop. I am hoping that as I declutter the rest of my home a new perspective on this jewelry will set in by the time I get to that closet. 🤪
I love earrings and had a pretty big collection. I paired it down and purchased 2 small flat containers that are divided up (the kind where you put nails, picture hangers, etc in) from dollar tree. I store the earrings in them. It works great.
I love my jewelry and it’s an area I probably won’t downsize much. Purses, nah. I am currently using a cute small straw purse I found second hand and it’s working great. Will likely use all summer and move on. I like your cross body but need a little more room for the keys, phone, sunscreen and lipstick. I like to carry gift cards too esp in summer so I keep a little wallet separate for that. Great video. Love your site!
Thank you for this I only seem to wear 1 or 2 different necklaces and the same for earrings, I have a large jewelry box my grandparents gave me when I was 13 I am 62! I think its time to let it go :) and I am glad you also showed your purse you use, I have so many large ones and I always seem to go with something small that can fit into a tote.
Thank you for your uplifting video. You are such a nice person, and I agree with all your great ideas, and have put them into use in my home and I thank you for your great ideas. Keep up the good work.
I too got ride of my large mom purse and purchased a backpack purse. I found I can put the kids school art rolling an 8" x 11.5" paper and the width of the tube fits in my backpack. I tell the kids nothing else can fit in there and it solved a load of momma drama. :) Plus I have free hands!!!!!
Loved this video! I have one purse per season. They are larger purses, but they don't get filled up with junk anymore because I bought a purse organizer. I love it so much! Before I had the purse organizer I always felt like I was hauling around a small trash can!😂I also have a small cross body bag for travelling.
This is where I am stuck. Purses and especially jewelry are especially sentimental to me as I have in the past celebrated by buying a new purse or jewelry item and I have spent a lot of money in the past on them. It is hard to resell jewelry especially bc it is hard for consumers to verify authenticity, but I also don’t want to just send them to Goodwill or the Salvation Army either. So I look for charity auctions for organizations that I really care about to donate them so the organization can get some value out of them that way. Selling my purses on eBay is easier than jewelry, but it is on the bottom my massive “to do” list. In the meantime I just do a capsule wardrobe type thing and pick out a few pieces of jewelry and a couple of purses for the season. It is very obvious that simplifying this saves a ton of time, so eventually I want to pare down my collection of both. Cute purse! Enjoy it!
So right--wear same jewelry all the time and if even if you've got lots, it never goes with the new outfit! No purse most of the time--pants with pockets holding extra keys, kleenex, important cards . . . Thanks for showing us alternatives for storing, etc. Really appreciate your sharing.
I used to be obsessed with buying jewelry. It was a weakness of mine. Now I have a small collection of small and dainty pieces that are simple and go with my outfits. I love your new bag! The smaller the bag, the less possibility of it getting cluttered lol
I don’t do jewelry or makeup anymore at all. But I have an iwatch that I wear every day. And I just got rid of all my big purses. I have about three small bags I use. And I do have tote bags I use when we travel or sports days. I have a son with autism so sometimes I carry extra clothes and his iPad when needed. Getting rid of carrying big bags is really freeing and I can accomplish more too.
I've been watching your channel for a while but this is my first time posting. I agree with everything you said in this video and all your other ones also. You have inspired me sooooo much. I was already on the minimalism journey when I started watching you but I truly believe it's been so much easier by watching you. I shared your channel with my best friend and you have inspired her to do the same and now we are planning on starting our own UA-cam channel. Oh and BTW I love Joshua Becker and think it's so cool that you were able to meet him. One day I would love to meet both of you. You're awesome!
I just purchased the purse. I needed a new one and yours comes in blush(pink) the color I was looking for. I'm so glad I don't have to go shopping for one. To many choices. Thanks again for sharing!
♡ crossbody bags💯! Small enough to fit my only wallet & 1 water btl💪. I 2 wear the same jewelry day in day out🤫. I buy a purse when the current bag is about to die😢. Jewelry is usually gifted/hand me downs👍. Thx 4 sharing✌
I have gone to a smaller purse because I just end up with lots of junk too. I found a bigger cross body than what you have at a Vera Bradley outlet & I love it. There are pockets for everything, so I can my work badge easily. I downsized my wallet to just something that holds my cards etc. I do tend to wear the same jewelry, but I like to have a few more pieces than what you have, however, I do work in an office- need some variety or I will go crazy!
I usually grab the same pcs of jewelry all the time too. Just did my first pass last night at paring down my jewelry. You mentioned the tear drop earrings... It's like when we are getting ready for church and I try to write down what I wear each Sunday and if I forget, my husband will say "if you don't remember what you wore, nobody else will. He'll say do you remember what other people wore last Sunday?" My answer is no. Love the crossbody pocket book.
I have the Sash purse. Over body small purse online. Not cheep but works great for me. I do work outside of the home, in an office but I don't wear jewelry other than the same small hoop ear rings, double in each ear. I do have a couple extra sets of ear rings but rarely change from the ones I wear all the time. I don't wear make up often but when I do, I put on at home and only take a lip stick since I won't reapply make up anyway. I like the purse your chose.
I’ve done away with big purses too. I essentially use the same small crossbody for everything, minus if I want to use a small clutch for the few occasions I go somewhere and I’m very dressed up. To get an idea how small my crossbody is, it can fit in my car armrest! 😁
I found the first pair of earrings you showed, at Kohls a couple months ago and I wear them all the time too!! I feel like when I wear them I am harnessing your minimalist lifestyle and they are my SUPER EARRINGS, hahahaha!! I said out loud in the store, "OH my gosh, these are the earrings that the Minimal Mom has!" No one around me cared though. Lol! They do go with a ton of outfits and are light weight. I absolutely LOVE your content and get excited everytime you have a new video. You have helped and inspired me a lot!! Thank you for all you do and keep them coming. Not sure if I could go down to as little jewelry as you have but there are things that I haven't worn and could let go of. Thank you again for all you do and may God bless your beautiful family. 💜💜💜
When I retired, I got rid of all my large totes except for one, that I 'might' need if I travel. My other purses are small crossbody(2) and a few dressy clutches. Fashion jewelry overload, which I am about to consign. Right before Christmas seems like a good time. I do have real jewelry that my husband gave me...may be all I keep. I am in the middle of downsizing, so everything is expendable except the good stuff. 🙂
My collection is one silver necklace with a heart pendant that my husband got me and my wedding band. That’s it:) matches everything for any occasion and most of the time during the week I don’t wear the necklace even so when I put it on it makes me feel special and put together . For purses I have one small black purse with a tassel on it that is great for anywhere from casual to dressy and a canvas cross body larger bag that I use most of the time that I can stick my reusable shopping bags into and an extra sweater or whatever . That’s it
I used to always have a tote size purse because I carried my big Erin Condren planner everywhere. With 5 kids, I wanted to write init immediately so I didn’t forget. Several years ago I moved to the Cozi app and didn’t need to carry my planner so I now always use a cross body. Has to be lightweight or it hurts my back. As for jewelry, as a nurse, I’ve never been able to wear it to work except the couple years I spent in management. I do love cute earrings and have several pairs but that’s really it.
I have been using a cross body purse for 2 years. Love it!!! I have a small wallet in it and I can throw it in a back pocket if needed. I have downsized my jewelry but need to do more. I do not wear a lot, but have some nice pieces that were given to me and that were my mother's. I need to have the few pieces appraised and try to sell. I wear the same few pieces over and over too.
We went to the coach outlet in September and I bought a wristlet that has two pockets. I can fit all my cash/cards/keys plus a pen, lip balm, tiny lotion. I can also put my phone in the other side. I love to carry it in my diaper bag and can’t throw it in my backpack for work. It has been working great to keep me organized and so I don’t forget anything. It ended up being like $50 and looks brand new 7 months late!
I did the same with my jewelry a few months ago and it was so freeing! I wear scrubs for work so I just figured out what earrings worked best for each scrub color and ta da! So easy and no brain activity needed in the early mornings deciding what to wear. 🙌🏻
I would love to see a video on how you yard sale as a minimalist - I've heard you mentioning you yard sale a lot for your kid's clothes. Do you just go when you're searching for something specific? Do you buy ahead in sizes for your kiddos, or just what they're currently in? It can sometimes be overwhelming, what to buy, what not to buy & not just buy cause it's simply there & cheap. I'd love to hear your take on the yard sales, as well as shopping for kid's clothes & shoes for each season.
I have even less jewelry... To be honest I don't like to wear it. When I weare it I feel like I have to be more careful. And it is making me nervous... So I don't weare it and feel comfortable! I adore that yours purse... Thinking of buyin it.... For now, while my son is newborne, I have to carry his bag so I put my phone and my cards in his bag. So now I don't use purse, but later I will consider buying this beautiful purse!
I had two purses that I owned. One was big, and one was very small. The big one I didn’t like the style and it was bigger than I regularly needed, and the small one could hardly fit my wallet and close and didn’t have room for ANYTHING else like my sunglasses or phone or chapstick. So I found at Winners a Roots purse that was on the smaller size , with a built in wallet on the side , and a nice pouch to comfortably fit my sunglasses, phone and a few extra small things I may need. And I didn’t need to worry about fitting my wallet cause it’s attached to my purse! The purse and wallet zips closed too so I don’t have to worry about anything falling out. So I got rid of the other two purses ( and a random purse I’ve held onto) and now don’t have to think twice about what purse I grab cause there’s only one that will fit every occasion. I am so stoked about it and just had to share lol
I just paired down my jewelry last week! I've started wearing it again. I've been looking for a new purse. Thank you for sharing this cute one. I'm hoping to order it!
I have 3 purses, all crossbody. I'm fairly small, and I never have pockets big enough to carry my phone and wallet. I need to be able to have my hands free when I'm out. If I set my purse down I might forget it. The largest is still fairly small, but I can fit my (small) planner in it. Or I can carry a couple of reusable shopping bags inside. I have a small one that I use when traveling. I can fit my passport, wallet, and not much else. It's good to carry out and about when shopping or sightseeing. I have an in-between size, mostly just for fun- in a bright floral pattern. I've also simplified my jewelry. Not as minimal as your collection- I do like to have some variety. I live in West Africa, so to be really dressed up I need big jewelry. (I'm still probably more understated than I should be for the culture.) But I'm careful about what I add to my collection. I used to be more likely to buy something that caught my eye.
Just carrying around a trash can--- LOVE this!!!!! ❤️👍
My comfort place...
jewelry - simple and elegant but quality pearl studs, diamond studs, silver smaller hoops, and gold smaller hoops
purses - black for fall/winter and a blush/pale pink for spring/summer Dooney and Bourke crossbody purse (also turns into a shoulder strap)
Jen Kann. Where do u shop? Real jewelry or fake?
On military base. I wait until they go on sale. Real. My jewelry has lasted 16 years still looks new
I’m in one of your older videos to get inspiration on parting with tons of jewelry.
Me, everytime after watching one of your videos: oh, I need to simplify MORE!
haha but I love seeing how little we need to live in a time when owning excess is "in"
Hahaha, thank you for the smile Liz!! :)
Tara Gainey I agree Tara! Love her ideas!! Minimalism is my LIFE NOW and if you had seen my previous large beautiful home, you would not believe all I have purged!😂
I hate to think about it because it shouts gluttony in my head! (10 tubs of Christmas decor is INSANE!)
You are so right about a big purse filling up! I think the big purses are more of a statement piece.
Love this channel! Been totally binging on your content! ❤️
Thank you so much Deborah!!! :) :) :)
Amen about not holding everyone else's junk!!! ;)
You have inspired me. This week I have donated 15 bags of stuff. I just love this channel. I still have more layers to go through.
Love the idea of a cork board! Then you can arrange the push pins to fit your jewelry, so wise!! And THANK YOU I greatly appreciate that!!! :)
I love the crossbody purses so convenient when running errands and keeps hands free. Ohhhh I have so much jewelry I could be paring down...I'll be adding that to the list!
Dawn, I love your grammar. It's a pleasure to hear you in your videos. Teacher Linda
I just have a small, black wristlet that holds my phone, lipstick, gum, and my cash clips! I also only wear my wedding band now...used to be a big purse and lots of jewelry girl, but it’s feels so nice and light to not worry about any of that! 😊
Yes, amen!!! ❤️
I always wear the same jewelry too! So.... I am in the process of simplifying it! I switched to a cross body purse last year and never went back! ❤️
I hadn’t thought about simplifying my jewellery! Feeling inspired to tackle this job today!
I noticed that Diana gets a lot of things that you have/ kept. She has a good eye :).
Love this!
Love your channel it has changed my life so much
Love the purse😍! I only wear gold earrings due to allergy. Easy, simple and Classic😊
I love small cross body purses and I am so going to get this one! It has a wallet in it! Genius!
That’s it.
I love that method!! Sounds so simple!
I think its time to let it go :)
and I am glad you also showed your purse you use, I have so many large ones and I always seem to go with something small that can fit into a tote.
LOVE this!!! :)
Cute purse! Enjoy it!
This sounds like a great compromise! And I live the idea of donating to charity auctions, that's great!
Right!?! I love that comment that said carrying around a large purse was like carrying around a trash can ;) SO TRUE!!! :)
Small wristlet is my go to. It fits my cell phone too. Stays on my wrist.
I love how you tag your videos "new". So helpful
Glad to hear that!!! ❤️
Glad to hear that!!! ❤️
I’m inspired to simplify a bit more. Love your channel
Wow! That is SO cool to hear!!!
I just purchased the purse. I needed a new one and yours comes in blush(pink) the color I was looking for. I'm so glad I don't have to go shopping for one. To many choices. Thanks again for sharing!
I did minimalize my jewelry as well. I keep it on cute hook rack behind our bedroom door. :) Love minimalizing with you! ;-)
Love this!!! ❤️
i got rid of a lot this past weekend. Watching your show makes me want to pair down.
That’s it
This is awesome!! ❤️
I do like the crossbody purse. but you have a blessed day
I have a large purse since giving up the diaper bag. I agree that it just collects papers and stuff. My jewelry is pretty simplified already.
I’m exactly the same - I wear the same few pieces of jewelry and 1 brown crossbody!🙌😆 You can’t go wrong!
I did the same with my jewelry a few months ago and it was so freeing! I wear scrubs for work so I just figured out what earrings worked best for each scrub color and ta da! So easy and no brain activity needed in the early mornings deciding what to wear. 🙌🏻
The little girl!! So happy!
I love those earrings you wear in your videos!
I just got my new purse last night. I love it. I feel like I've lost 5#s! I'm not carrying a bunch of junk and half eaten granola bars. 😁
