I love you guys so much. I look forward to your videos no matter what the topic is.... your smiles and banter bring me joy and happiness. You both are such a blessing. Thank you for all your hard work and for your videos. Love you guys
Makes me smile. My son is 37 and still loves rocks. I used to clean rocks out of his pockets most times I did laundry. He was here a couple weeks ago and I found a rock in my window sill by the sink. Love that boy.
My grandson who I'm raising, would put little rocks in his shoes at 3-4 yrs old while at a Christian school. He would give them to me as tokens of love. One day his teacher told me Christopher was walking like he hurt his foot..turns out he was bringing me a big rock home that day 🤣 Such a sweetie ❤
The part of the video with Gage and his rocks literally made me burst into tears. I have 3 sons, and two of them love rocks. If I don’t check their pockets, I inevitably hear clanking in my dryer. Your lovely video made me realize that one day in the not so distant future, I won’t find these random treasures in the laundry anymore. Time goes, doesn’t it? Thank you for the helpful, informative and sweet video ❤️
Hi from Canada, We have had lots of heat and smoke here. Our farmers are concerned about the dryness with some turning crops into feed for animals. Our rain in Regina SK came yesterday, with very strong winds and very large hail in some places. Thankfully the smoke disappeared. We appreciate all the cleaning, organizing videos. THANK YOU. Take Care. Linda Warnke
We have carpet on the car and truck floors so we buy carpet squares to catch all the dirt/mud, and snow and replace them yearly. It keeps the floors clean and I love it!!! (I cleaned both 2 weeks ago)
Right! We have a house of blondes & both vehicles have black carpet. The carpet is like velcro for the blonde hairs. The vacuum won't take it off of the carpet. It's my hubby's huge complaint. I'm going to try the brush trick & pray that it works.
@@sunrays-wy6jc I might use an actual hairbrush to grab the hair, then clean it. Doesn't seem like a standard flat cleaning brush like Dawn used would "grab" well enough. I'm getting my hair cut cause I can Stand finding those dang long hairs everywhere!

Working in the motorcycle industry for many years, Bugslide (can see the information on all its uses) works great on all vehicles as I've used it on my collectible automobile and it's waterless..also use TuffStuff foam cleaner for carpets and upholstery. Then top it off using a little dusting polish inside but avoid applying to the steering wheel. All while using some microfiber cloths or the cotton ones that are sold in automotive sections of your nearest auto store. Been doing this for years. I do like your pet cleaner vacuum as that's a new one for me that I'll have to invest in. Great tips Dawn and Tom, have a blessed day 🙂
Tom- my late husband Randy ❤️❤️❤️❤️loved washing the cars too! He’d let us help sometimes but he couldn’t always tell us how he wanted the process to proceed… so he usually washed by himself.👍🏼 He taught me the beauty of a clean car. Rule #1 when we married”No trash left in the car”.🤓 Thanks for warming my ❤️today with your attention to detail. Made me feel my Randy close
Love your videos, Dawn and Tom! I too laughed right out loud, several times. I so appreciate how real you two are. So funny! Hope you soon find a happy buyer for the Excursion!
Yes on the dryer sheets. I’ve been using them for years to clean the front end to remove bugs. If your think about it, they are fabric softeners, so I think that is part of why it makes it so much easier to clean. I dunk in down in the soapy water in my bucket before I start scrubbing.
I am literally needing to get some car detailing stuff to clean up my car to sell but was quickly overwhelmed by the options. Was willing to invest but didn't want to waste money on unnecessary things. Thanks so much for this!!
At our house, washing the cars/trucks is a family affair.😁 We also used Awesome cleaner with our wet/dry vacuum on cloth seats and it got them so clean!
My husband also likes to clean things well. It kind of blows my mind. No comprendo. But, acts of service is my love language, so even tho I don't care very much how clean my van is, I look at his "heart message" behind cleaning my van and it fills my love bucket😂 you two are so much like my hubby and I! Opposites Do attract❤
You must have read my mind I needed some ideas to clean my car just bought a 2018 Honda Fit. I wasn’t to sure the things I need to clean the interior and exterior also what to put in the car. Thank You for the great ideas Dawn and Tom. Have a Blessed weekend!!🙏🙏
I’m the one in my house that likes to clean the vehicles. I’ve loved it since I got my first car as a teenager. It’s cathartic for some reason. I even still do my college son’s car when he comes home each break, and he really appreciates it. I’m with Tom when it comes to getting really good car mats. It can save SO much wear and tear on your carpet. However, we live in suburban Texas, and my kids are almost grown now, so I don’t need the Weathertech or equivalent. Now I usually by factory OEM carpet mats at as deep a discount as I can find. (We only buy used vehicles, and they rarely have nice mats, if any.) I’m going to try the orange cleaner on a few stains that came with our latest van. It looks almost new except for those-and it’s a 2009.😊
I read somewhere to treat your car like the National Parks - whatever you pack in to go, pack it out when you get home - pack it in and pack it out! As an avid camper, this stuck with me and I do it every time now as soon we get home - hubby is so happy! We have one small curated basket that stays in the vehicle with sanitizer, masks and a water / cup for the dog and poopie bags. The basket moves to our other vehicle with us if we take that instead of our primary vehicle. I love a product called Tuff Stuff Be careful of using products that will dry out the leather and stitching. I like to use a leather cleaner and conditioner on the seats
My dad owns a shop and does restoration and repair for a living. Your description of Tom on a road trip brought back a lot of memories 🤣 I am definitely the one that prefers a cleaner car. Pre children I washed and cleaned it every week. I’d still prefer that but it’s definitely not anywhere close.
You two are so funny together! You asked, "Who likes to clean the cars?" I have to clean the cars. When he has vacumed the car-he is not as good as Tom. So, you are so lucky to have a husband that LIKES to clean the car & likes to detail it! You asked if I like help washing the car...I would prefer at my age to have my husband do it. In the past, TIP: I found if there are new floor mats in the car (when I sold it) it sells faster. I just went to Sam's & got the mats there. It is a nice touch to finish the sale & it REALLY makes a difference!
I have strong opinions about cleaning your car as a detailer- be careful using things that are abrasive like the dryer sheets on your oaint- instead use Bugs N All cleaner to dissolve them. Use Meguiars all purpose cleaner inside the car on hard surfaces, and finish everything with 303 Aerospace protectant. All worth every dime
Hi! Can you recommend something to clean the interior of a windshield? Mine looks ‘filmy’ in the light, and glass cleaners seem to make it worse. Microfiber with water or diluted Dawn helps, but… I still see the filmy smears in the sunlight. So I’m hoping to find a cleaner that removes the weird filmy layer but doesn’t leave its own filmy residue.
the more the merrier on washing a car, kids do the lower areas and tires/wheels. Love this video, thanks. I hate the humidity, here in so. calif, there was almost none when I grew up, but now - wow! Lots of summer days now. Little fingers (kids) are great for certain areas. I have grandkids but I just do it myself, parking my car in a self wash pressure washing station. You pay by the amount of time you want to work, changing the knob from wash (soapy water) to rinse or spot free rinse.
Let the person who cares about the cleanliness of the vehicle, pick the products and do the cleaning. Clean as much as you care ..... You two are so cute and such a great balance. mahalo. carry on!
For bug removal, I love Simple Green. Wet the bumper, spray it down, and let it sit a few minutes. It also works wonders on tar splatter if you happen to drive through road construction! Inside, I'm a detail freak to the point that I get exhausted (which is why I don't detail very often LOL). Tom and I have the same personality, but he's way more dedicated than me ;) I end up going through a lot of cotton swabs and skewers, getting nooks and crannies, but oohhh it feels so good when the interior is fresh and clean! Thanks for the tip on the citrus cleaner for the carpet; that will really come in handy on the Jeep Cherokee we bought recently!
Awesome is awesome!! Our church just got tagged and Awesome even took care of the spray paint. When my kids were little, I got a "dorm room carpet" from Walmart and put it on the floor of our van. I cut out holes where needed and lined the edge with duct tape. When we sold the van, we removed the carpet and simply vacuumed - got a great resale price because the van carpet looked so good! I now have an old area rug in the back of my suv because it is carpeted. The throw rug takes the beating and got a second life.

That made keeping the car clean super easy. It's really that simple. It sure looks like Corbin takes after his dad s far as taking care of the car.
Lol, yes lots of rocks. My daughter was the same way, she's 22 NIW, and I still have the rocks in our garden, they bring back memories of our family trips.
Love all your videos! You might enjoy seeing an old movie (1953) called, “The Long, Long Trailer”, with Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz, that both Gage and especiallyTom, would relate to very well.
I like this video on cleaning the car. I keep a microfiber cloth in the console and a DollarTree size of Armorial that I can use whenever I want. Funny story, some years ago, we bought a new Blazer, it always had this noise, took it back to the dealership several times without success…… until one day I was cleaning it, and wedged way down in the pocket of the back seat, I found a long lost baby rattle!
I have to say and I've been wanting to say this for a VERY VERY VERY long time, that Tom is the male version of myself and Dawn is the female version of my husband. THIS video just really sealed my conviction. I'd be the one in my relationship cleaning the bugs off with a dryer sheet, my husband would pay our girls to do it! Love you both. GREAT video

I used to live on a farm and it was impossible to keep a vehicle clean. Now I live in town and have a very nice car. Cars are expensive and I want to take good care of it. I wash it every Saturday and then I throughly clean the inside. Because I do this weekly it is easy to do and doesn’t take any time at all. Every time I get out of the car I remove the trash. That means that every time I get it the car, it’s clean. I love it!
Great video! I keep a small, stiff broom and microfiber wand and "tidy up" my Suburban every time I fill up. My 3 kids HAVE to take everything out, every time.
Yeaaaaaah, Tom, for being the "clean car guy". Any help is GREAT!! Btw...91% humidity...whoosh... I give you much credit for even attempting any kind of car clean up!! Yowzers. Good job, you 2!!!

Yep my husband does not like the kids "helping" with car washing 🤣 I swear Tom and my Husband are so much alike it's crazy. My husband has been buying and selling cars for 10+ years as well. He LOVES a clean car! Something struck me when you said, "would it speak your love language?" My husband has been working so hard on our house lately he hasn't had time for the cars. So I am going to go out and clean the cars for him today to help out and say thank you 💗 oh simple green works really good on cars too!
My hubby loves to “detail” the cars by himself but I like to “help” when he lets me. I think it’s more fun to do it together but I’m also the one who will spray you with the water when you least expect it!!!
When my kids were little I had a rule, if you bring it in the car it leaves with you once we get home that way it doesn’t become filled with stuff! Also a great tip for stained carpets is to use baby wipes to scrub the area, they really work great. I also keep a stiffer duster in my glove box for the dash - the things you can do while sitting at a traffic light, lol.
I love having a clean car and honestly don't think it's prohibitively hard to do with kids. Yes, road trips always get crazy, but for everyday life, there's a couple things I always do to keep up with it. #1 Everyone takes in ALL their stuff whenever they get out of the car. Yes I have to remind every time, but it works wonders. #2 Have an easily accessible trash bag. I have one by the kids and one up front. I remove any larger drink cups wherever I get out of the car and empty the trash bags when getting gas or washing my car. Just keeping up on trash works wonders. #3 I have a car wash pass. $20 a month to wash my car as much as I want and unlimited vacuum use. Well worth it.
Bless your heart, a gravel driveway is like fighting an up hill battel on keeping your car clean. I usually break down and get mine washed every season. BUT I do use car pick up line to always tidy and wipe down the inside every week!
Thank you for your video. I keep a very messy vehicle. I get my children to clean it then, I clean it after them. It is significant less after plus, the older ones have learned to help try to keep it cleaner. They scold me because of my bag mess. No drinks or food but, a few water bottles.
For tree sap use a shower loofah (like the meshy ones) it won’t scratch your paint and it might work for bugs too! 😉 Love the brush with the vacuum so trying that!!!!

***THANK YOU DAWN AND TOM!!! Omgoodness our mini van is trashed with 3 kiddos in our family. This momma is needing to do this....Thanks family in Christ!!!***
We LOVE the Awesome spray!! My grandmother used to own a professional cleaning service. We've been using that spray for years!
we use it in our professional house cleaning service too! All the ladies that work for me think it's... AWESOME ;)
I just washed my car today!! I used baking soda to clean off dead bugs. Tooth paste can work too. I watched my son wash his girlfriends car. He and Tom are cleaning bros! Tom and Tim! It does feel good to have a clean car. I also use vinegar and water on interior too.
I love you guys so much. I look forward to your videos no matter what the topic is.... your smiles and banter bring me joy and happiness. You both are such a blessing. Thank you for all your hard work and for your videos. Love you guys
Haha, your son's Rock collection!!
One day his teacher told me Christopher was walking like he hurt his foot..turns out he was bringing me a big rock home that day 🤣
Such a sweetie ❤
The part of the video with Gage and his rocks literally made me burst into tears. I have 3 sons, and two of them love rocks. If I don’t check their pockets, I inevitably hear clanking in my dryer. Your lovely video made me realize that one day in the not so distant future, I won’t find these random treasures in the laundry anymore. Time goes, doesn’t it? Thank you for the helpful, informative and sweet video ❤️
Those rocks really killed the good gas mileage, though! 😂. Kidding!
My 23 year old still collects rocks, she has moved country and I still have her rocks🙄
The tip about using a scrub brush while vacuuming is genius, how could I not have flippin thought of that.
I agree with Tom on the Armor All wipes. They not only clean, but condition as well.
Dawn, you look absolutely gorgeous in this video. Pink is definitely your color. 💗
LOVING THIS!!! I just took my kiddos to a “Zoofari” experience where we stay in our cars and feed llamas, bison, donkeys and other animals from our open car windows!!! My car is full of large animal slobber plus carrot and lettuce bits!!! So thank you so much for this Dawn 😜👍🏽🥳
Oh my goodness, I didn't know those were so messy!!!! ;)
@@TheMinimalMom LOL! Yes! And thank you for always bringing such knowledge and joy into my life. You literally got me/are getting me through the pandemic 💖💖💖
Great tips Dawn and Tom, have a blessed day 🙂
I keep baby wipes in the car for my hands and quick cleaning. My daughter is 17 but baby wipes are a must in our house. 😁
I have zero kids and am loaded down with baby wipes here too lol
Tom- my late husband Randy ❤️❤️❤️❤️loved washing the cars too! He’d let us help sometimes but he couldn’t always tell us how he wanted the process to proceed… so he usually washed by himself.👍🏼 He taught me the beauty of a clean car. Rule #1 when we married”No trash left in the car”.🤓 Thanks for warming my ❤️today with your attention to detail. Made me feel my Randy close
This popped up and I HAD to watch! I love the interaction between you & Tom. I laugh out loud! Thank you for doing these. Bright spot in my day!🌞
Thank you Sharon, than means more than you know!!!
I love it when I see it newly uploaded.
Thank you Summer!!!! :)
At our house, washing the cars/trucks is a family affair.😁
We also used Awesome cleaner with our wet/dry vacuum on cloth seats and it got them so clean!
99% humidity - and not raining - is pretty much July & August here in Alabama. We call it "air you can wear".
My husband has always been picky about our vehicles, which I’m thankful for. I’ll take care of the house!!
LOL!!😂 Dawn laughing at Tom just kills me!! 😆
(We only buy used vehicles, and they rarely have nice mats, if any.)
I’m going to try the orange cleaner on a few stains that came with our latest van.
I love a product called Tuff Stuff
Be careful of using products that will dry out the leather and stitching. I like to use a leather cleaner and conditioner on the seats
My dad owns a shop and does restoration and repair for a living. Your description of Tom on a road trip brought back a lot of memories 🤣
I am definitely the one that prefers a cleaner car. Pre children I washed and cleaned it every week. I’d still prefer that but it’s definitely not anywhere close.
I love cleaning the car & so does my husband. We use Meguiars cleaners! & 303 protectant! It makes everything look amazing.
Good timing on release of this video. Friday is car day in the Flylady system and it is actually a frog 🐸 on my list!
the more the merrier on washing a car, kids do the lower areas and tires/wheels.
I’ve been needing to deep clean my car, perfect timing!
I like it so much better when you wear these pretty colors!
Let the person who cares about the cleanliness of the vehicle, pick the products and do the cleaning. Clean as much as you care ..... You two are so cute and such a great balance. mahalo. carry on!
Corbin’s mannerisms look just like Tom when he is cleaning the dash behind you!
Tom and I have the same personality, but he's way more dedicated than me ;)
I end up going through a lot of cotton swabs and skewers, getting nooks and crannies, but oohhh it feels so good when the interior is fresh and clean!

I totally appreciate how Tom does things. I always kept my car clean while raising all of my kids. The kids knew to take everything out of the car with them.
Thanks for the car cleaning tips. Have you ever done a house cleaning / routine video?
I like this video on cleaning the car. I keep a microfiber cloth in the console and a DollarTree size of Armorial that I can use whenever I want.
Funny story, some years ago, we bought a new Blazer, it always had this noise, took it back to the dealership several times without success…… until one day I was cleaning it, and wedged way down in the pocket of the back seat, I found a long lost baby rattle!
Hi. Your yard is so GREEN; ...nice 🙂. We, here in the west, are in severe drought, fires, and 15% humidity 😕.
This video reminded me that I needed to get a new bissle little green or something similar. You two are just adorable.
Tom, I'm on your side on this one. I love a clean car!
I love help washing our car and truck…. Tom is my kinda guy!
GREAT video

5:20 made me laugh. I love when you guys leave moments like that in your video. 😂😍
Yes...Fabric softener sheet works brilliantly ...it is the fabric softener...works so well for soaking cooking pans too
When you were cleaning the bugs off your car I thought it’s not doing a good job….. 🤔 then realized my phone screen has spots on it!!! 🤣🤣🤣
Me too!
Yeaaaaaah, Tom, for being the "clean car guy". Any help is GREAT!! Btw...91% humidity...whoosh... I give you much credit for even attempting any kind of car clean up!! Yowzers. Good job, you 2!!!
Interesting video! Dawn, your "easygoingness" is so refreshing! I want the car clean, but I don't want to do it. Best method is to pay someone else to do it!
Love watching y'all together! These tips were very useful.
Hazy here too, and rainy. We are blessed when so many have a heat wave and drought. ❤🤗

Thanks 😊for your auto 🚘 detailing tips & products Tom & Dawn delagating for kid's. Great Job 👍👌 Gage.
Yes!
I wish I cared about cleaning my car as much as Tom! Great cleaning tips!
My hubby loves to “detail” the cars by himself but I like to “help” when he lets me. I think it’s more fun to do it together but I’m also the one who will spray you with the water when you least expect it!!!
🤣😂☺️
Wow! What a beautiful area you live in! So much space and greenery! Gorgeous! Lots of love from Sydney, Australia 🥰
Awesome and a scrub brush work great on the floor mats too. You can use Awesome in so many place. I use it on grease stains in the laundry.
The Norwex mesh dishcloth is awesome for cleaning bugs!
For tree sap use a shower loofah (like the meshy ones) it won’t scratch your paint and it might work for bugs too! 😉
Love the brush with the vacuum so trying that!!!!
You two crack me up! Tom...keeping it real ; Dawn... cracking up! Hahaha! 💗😂💗
