I am so grateful to you for making this video! I have so many Hikvision cams from fixed bullets to auto tracking domes and it makes me crazy that they cannot get it together to find a way for their customers to be able to view their cameras for proper setup. I am going to take a chance on the $20 buy-in for the plugin as I know it will come in handy. You da man!

Hi Fred, thanks for the video, this worked for me with the added helper file install. The display seems to be zoomed in so some of the options buttons at the bottom are off screen (the display grid option) but otherwise works well. Thanks again.

worked! i didnt need to clear any browsing history, but the plugin IE Tab plugin is only a free trail and has an added step to installation-- 4/6/23

After your procedure, now I see the 4 boxes for my 4 cameras managed by NVR Hilook NVR-104MH-D / W.
But: the foour boxes are empty. Same result if I switch from main stream and sub-stream.

Hi Fred, this browser issue is driving me insane. I am an Apple Mac user, is there anyway to be able to view the live feed in my browser. I have tried Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Opera nothing works. I can of course get this to work on a friends Windows machine, but I have Mac's. Surely you have come across this issue as I'm sure some of your clients/customers must use Mac computers. What is really odd, if I use say Firefox for the Hikvision NVR I see the live feeds, but for some reason the IP Cameras will NOT WORK. Obviously something in the NVR versus IP software is different preventing the live stream.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.....thanks in advance and have a great XMAS/New Year

No, you do not have to buy the extension. Just download it as video shows.
When I installed it, it said to buy a license or it's a 2 week trial

Easy to follow, and I did reconnect with a camera, but, one problem. I have 9 cameras and only one comes through. I can tab through the cameras and they connect to their appropriate camera name, but screens remains black on 8. Is there a fix for this?
OH! I read further down in the comments and followed your suggestion to power down and power up the NVR and laptop. I did that and the cameras all came up! Thank you for such an informative video.

No. You just need to clear browsing history that one time before adding IE Tab.

As I saw at the end of the video you are using the webbrowser "E" =Explorer ? and not Google Chrome (?)
I was getting a message that could try the IE Tab for a while free and after this I should pay for it (?)
Sofar till now ,I couldn't activate my Hikvision dome camera through Google Chrome webbrowser.....
mine keeps giving me things about untrusted certificates and wont let me login even after i say trust them wont show login tab says https error: content blocked

There is no need to install the plugin, the camera will work just with the IE Tab extension, it works on windows 10 and chrome

Hi ... targeting individual cameras directly, this method works ... but NOT with NVR (Model: DS-7604NI-K1 / 4P(B) ... could You please help me out how to make my NVR work again ?!
It should work with NVRs also. Did you down load plug in and update firmware I have used this method with that NVR before so it should work!
Getting the same message on Chrome as I commented on your Edge video "This stream is encrypted... Go to local configuration interface to set encryption key and restart" Any guidance would be appreciated, thanks.
That has nothing to do with the browser. That is a security feature of the NVR. Go into configuration. Then pick local. You should see an encryption area with a password in it. You can change that to whatever you want and the first time you log into Hik-Connect or a browser it is going to prompt you for that key. It is a security feature.
@@WentworthCCTV Thanks for the quick reply. So I found where the encryption key is, did my own password, closed Chrome and logged back in, no prompt for that password and still no cameras. Do I have to do this directly from the NVR for it to work (ie where my cameras are hard wired into)?
That’s odd…..Make sure you download the plug in if it prompts you to. Other than that it should work. If your still having issues I would close PC browser and reboot PC. Also reboot NVR or DVR. See if that works.
And probably verify NVR IP address is accurate in the browser settings under internet explorer mode pages too. Good luck!!

I don't think so. The other option would be to download the Edge browser and use that in legacy mode. That is what I use.
@@WentworthCCTV I did a little more research - it turns out you can uninstall IE Tab and re-install it, then you can use it again for 15 days before you have to uninstall and reinstall again.

Somebody put a key in when they installed. Log into the camera and you will find that in local settings.

You would think hikvision being such a massive company would fix this issue, like who tf uses ie anymore any other camera i use has an interface that works with any browser hikvision need to wake up.
Agreed. The newer hardware is a little more user friendly, but they have a long way to go!

You still have to install the plug in. If you have done that, reboot the computer. As you can see by the other comments, it works my man. Every PC is different.
