The Aussie antics continue on THIS vs THST! Adam’s Datsun 1200 has NO space - that’s why that big ol’ blower’s sticking out the bonnet! It’s on top of a 6 liter LS on icy methanol, and that’s on top of some Mickey Thompsons on beadlock wheels. His opponent Jay of @lowstandards5269 brought brought his family Honda Odyssey, but it’s got a 2JZ and a drifter front end inspired by the “thrifty Zed” (that’s 350Z if you don’t speak Australian). Neither of these are designed for drag, but drag they will!

I love the Datsun letting out on the first race to make it seem closer. The Datsun is 100% a drag racer, and I love it 😂

Yeah the odyssey was a drift car had 0 traction and half the hp of the datsun while weighing 1000lbs more. Not to mention the datsun had 26x10 full drag slicks.

@@matthewmorgan582 The point is it's an old drag racing thing when you're in a race that has negotiations. He let out so he didn't show truly how fast he is and give him more space on the next race. It's all in good fun when there's no money on the line, it's just hilarious to see lol
Second race was scary. That Datsun just kept spinning the rear wheels as soon as he touched the accelerator just a little to hard. You could see how it started to shim around, and at speed that shit is scary.
No way you gave that odyssey a fair fighting chance, you gotta bring him back

Yep it's sick, they actually change the paint n look of it every few yrs, used to be a bronzey pink, was white n black before that, I think it's been like 5 different colour schemes over the last decade, all just as good quality 👌

I m trying to comprehend the level that little Datsun must be fettled to, with that kind of power and that short wheelbase, I would not have given good odds for three consecutive runs down the track without a barrel roll. By itself, the skill driving that thing, and building it to be stable in a race are awe inspiring.

the Odyssey is killer, would shine on a twisty mountain road, and an occassional L O N G straight, but not against a savage brut like that amazing WARSPEED powered monster on a drag strip! love both rides!

The build and fab work on the Ute is super clean, you have one of my now favorite cars of all time. As for the Odyssey , I love all the detail and time you spent making it appeal the way it does. The van might have not been super fast but it has way more drivability. The Ute is a performer, possibly one of the best burn out cars in the down under, with a bit of drag hustle. Either way both men and both rides were spectacular. Awesome job my friends.
I have to give it to Zac a drift v. skid car race with the setup they normally run as in not in slicks. Would be epic

Always love these, not sure how a 3klb+ van with 600hp tops should beat a sub 3klb car with 900+hp but still always a treat to watch

I was NOT ready for that ending where he actually proved that Odyssey can drift! With more equal tires, this race would've been waaaaay better. Those drag slicks made the race for the Datsun, I wanna see the Odyssey back for a rematch on equal tires. That thing is so sick!

As close as the moon is to the earth is about as close as this race was. Nevertheless, these are some awesome unique rides, cool owners, and it's really hard to decide which one sounds better (I'm leaning towards the 2J though)

I used to own one of those Odysseys where I live in Canada. Had it imported from Japan with a full Mugen bodykit, wing ect. K24a with AWD was great for winters. It was totalled in an accident about 4 months ago. I miss it 😞

let me say both drivers are just top class fellas with specific vehicles,ones a drag car ones a drift car ,Hoonigan REALLY did Jay DIRTY in the worst way and Jay being Jay just rolled with the punches ,he built that Honda to be a drift van ,he built it and i implore everyone to get behind hes channel ,low standards,such a humble fella and an amazing talent

That Datsun's engine never even broke a sweat.........it's still waiting to get down to real work on a sticky track. An easy low 8 high 0 7's 1/4 mile combination.......AWESOME !!!!!
Love seeing this Datsun get some love and know that it isn't a trailer queen. its actually driven. That under chassis shot at the beginning and the coil over was dirt...it almost brought a tear to my eye.
Both builds are bad ass I support them both and love them both are unique
The Odyssey is literally z33 from the firewall forward, the rear floor pan is also z33 so the entire rear end/suspension also bolted in.
Pity u guys didn’t quite realise the beast Jay has created, the man is a genius and just gets stuff done!
