- Suppy dragged his NYC crew all the way out to Cali so they could show us how it’s done on the East Coast, and. they brought their only very lightly modified Supra to take on the challenge. That’s not an intake it’s a missing headlight, they swear! They’re up against James in his Aprilia RSV4 superbike equipped with the choicest systems from the whole RSV4 line, including a 1000cc engine. Just who’s playing who here??

I'm still confused how they didn't know (including the supra driver) that racing the bike from a roll gives the bike a huge advantage as well. They seemed to think the bike won the first race simply bc it was from a dig. They got it all backwards lol.
Launching any bike is difficult as fuck, I'd know, let alone a bike like that. When they started talking about roll racing I knew the supra was done for lol.
Should have had the Supra spotted out cars from a dig. But oh well, they don't normally have bikes on so maybe they simply didn't know.

Yeah these guys apparently know nothing about modern sportbikes.
The fact that none of them thought the bike would win tells me they are pure car guys and don't know anything about modern Superbikes. You need at minimum 900 hp just to be in the same league as a modern Superbike let alone one that has work done to it. And like you said roll racing just gives them an even bigger advantage because now they don't have to work as hard to keep the front end down.
I was thinking the same thing, you give a bike a roll and you are done for. The hardest part about the race is leaving the line for bikes. Then you give em a 50-60 roll, Thats power band all day...
Plus he doesnt have to worry about the clutch, its basically a no lift shift. All of the odds are in favor of the bike.

As someone who has owned a sport bike before, I was laughing at this lineup. You have to have an absolutely absurd car to just be in the same time zone as a bike if they decide it’s time to go.
I laughed extra hard at the roll race part. Launching a bike well is by far the hardest part; once a bike is halfway up the tach in second, you’d better be in an aircraft if you plan to keep up.
Aprilia is a 10sec 1/4 mile machine. That's not fast by fast car standards.
Other bikes in the same class do quarter miles under 9.5, but Aprilia still seems to go head to head with them, many other factors come into play. Riding a bike is a whole other sport and u can’t fairly compare them
Sport bikes hit max HP and torque at higher rpm as well.

The RSV4 / Tuono is also the best engine sound I ever heard (no matter of cars or bikes). Had the pleasure to drive a Tuono V4 1100 (2014) and this was crazy.
I have my Tuono for about 3½ years now and I still giggle like a little kid when I hear the sound on startup or while riding
the gt350 and chevy 5.3 sounds better than that bike and i like cars and bikes
I absolutely loved the biker he was so chill and calm and they thought he was conned in the race's negotiation but nah man had top tier confidence and knew he was beating him in any condition meanwhile the guy with the supra had zero confidence in himself&the car thats why he always jumps and makes excuses afterwards lol

not in any condition, make that 2000ft or from a 100 roll, supra starts to gain advantage not sure at what point it starts winning but 900hp is 900hp, but this short of a race no way its beating a fast bike

Second never race a bike from a roll if you want to win. Mondern day stock liter + bikes can hang or beat (rider size/skill depending) the "mighty one trick pony joke car" known as the tesla plaid.
Also they always bring some built monster like this Supra to race what is a bike with a pipe and flash. Pretty much the required mods these days due to factory restrictions.
Plenty of Turbo GSXR1000s Hayabusa and ZX14s around. Get one of them to race and see what happens. SMH

only bike that sounds better to me is the Honda VFR750/early 800 and thats ONLY because of the gear driven cams, otherwise they have the same crankshaft style, orientation, and firing order so they make the same sound and pulses. a VFR is half the HP though lol

Most liter bikes can dust hyper cars in straight lines.
And the roll race was the worst thing to do for that supra driver. Modern litre bikes can reach around 140-160 kmph in first gear. He was dead serious when he said, it doesn't matter who sets the pace

Actually the ratio on both of them is a lot closer than you'd think with their respective driver/rider. The bike with rider is like a 1:3.1 vs the supra with an equivalent driver being 1:3.7 power to weight. But also yeah there's a reason you're not supposed to challenge a bike to a drag race

And if youre not sure if the other guy jumped, you have to go or you lose if the other guy didnt jump. This way you have a chance
@@matthijs2537 Yup! We're talking a fraction of a second you have to decide whether or not they jumped too - when you're in GO mode and every fraction of a second counts... IMO their plan is to get a head start - or - to argue themselves a "win" saying they didn't jump.

Bikes are generally the cheapest speed you can get. Can buy used sportbikes that run in the 10’s pretty easy stock.

For the money its jokes. I have a 2011 600 Hornet and it does 0-60 in 3.3 seconds. I have a Busa powered kit car which the best i have got is 3.2 seconds which for what i paid for the car. Nothing comes close.

Even with the Supra jumping the start from a dig, the bike nearly ran him down in race #1. Props to the rider, dude can launch and the bike doesn't have some super long swing arm. Supra with a manual, very nice. I'll take one of each of these machines, please and thanks.

@Zatiti Cherry Yup, the RSV is a monster as it comes from the factory. And, if given a decent tune, forget about it; it is on another level, even against some other liter bikes.
Also a roll is ideal for a bike, you could hear the traction control going nuts in the first race. Go to Moore Mafia's channel to see some of the crazy mods it takes to get a bike set up for dig launches, they become useless for pretty much anything else.
When supra guy called for a roll he didn't even try to negotiate, he knew it would help him more...

There's street cars that will beat up on liter bikes from a roll, there just stupid expensive to build. 1500+hp Twin turbo Lambos, tt Vipers, etc. There's a video of a 240Z putting buses on three different S1000rrs, that ones borderline cheating though as that car was a tube chassis race car
I've been riding for bikes for close to 50 years and where the bike loses is keeping the front wheel on the ground. If you don't have wheelie bars you'll have to feather the throttle off the dig, that's the only way a 4 wheeler will beat it. Unless you can steer a 200 hp unicycle that is lol......I had a 1985 ninja 600 and when I got on it I had a hard time keeping the front wheel down and that only had 75 hp.

Epic racing! Kudos to the RSV4 rider, he did a great job. Even though it's a built bike, the specs are pretty stock for a superbike like this. Crazy performance you can get right off the showroom floor to compete with a built up turbo supra with slicks.
I'm so glad that the bike community has been represented by someone respectful like James. This is what the majority of the 2 wheeled community is about. Such a nice RSV4 too.
I knew that it was over once they started roll racing and it's hilarious that yall went for the supra. The hardest thing for bikes to do is launch but once we click 2nd gear it's game over which is why I practice launching every time I go out on track up here in NH at the NASCAR track we use for our road course. I'd love to bring my "little" R6 out there, stock motor besides block off plates, full exhaust, and mail-in tune by Bauce, and show some 500-600hp cars what's good. I don't use launch control either.

Yea, launching like that on strong bikes is prolly the main weakness, cause if we rip the throttle too hard we're on our asses and the bike is about 100ft away and we're scratching our head like "Oh, right, physics and wheelies! Duh!"
But, yea, the roll race I knew immediately just "Ah well he's won don't even need to watch any more" But I did to see the severity of gap
It's why I had my CBR1000RR geared for a top speed of 155 mph, you can crack 10 seconds to 150 mph, all without changing anything else.

There are no launch issues on my s1000rr M. Cars can beat a superbike, but they are usually in the 1400 to 1800 hp range and no longer street cars. 600cc won't keep up with anything respectable. You dont need a built car to get by a 600 even modded.

Really hope you have bikes on again… but to make it difficult maybe do it against something 4WD…& rolling starts for bikes are basically giving us a free winners trophy 😂

Most sport bikes power wheelie in the lower gears.... I'm probably running a bit less than 3/4 his power and struggle to keep the front wheel down. I'm used to street drag racing though. He obviously was holding back in the early gears.

Do they think all the geared and Tune/Filter/Exhaust Inline fours that make 180-200hp stock and in the 190s to the wheels full Bolt ons/tuned that Smoke 1000whp+ cars are magically different than the Italian V4 version? It's a pretty light bike too, maybe not like some of the cut up ZX10s and GSXRs. Whats funny is that guy is clearly a circuit rider and has the bike setup as such. With no power mods at all, just dropping the clamps on the stanchions and straps or a drop link,etc that dig would've gone much worse for the Supra. A 43 or 44T in the back also would make the 3rd-6th gear walk into more of a run.
I DID think the MkIV would've held on better once in that 120ish range when aero really comes into play. Good rider, good tuck for a non-tiny jockey. That's my only gripe is the bike is smallll, but thats also a positive in non straight line scenarios for me.
He said his neighbor was involved with the Aprilia MotoGP development. Imagine if the bike had the holeshot device, it would have been even worse for the Supra
@@brianjewell4139 I had a geared down ZX10R for track duty similar setup as this, they wheelie all the way through 4th and sometimes 5th, if it wasn't geared down it would be closer up top, it's just torque multiplication. They pull so hard at 200+ it's crazy, but not really useful for a daily driver/track/strip bike. Supra would win on a motorway though, the geared down bike won't have enough gear.
As an Aprilia owner this was a proud moment

the aprilia, albeit an amazingly fast bike, functioned as it should have. the supra is a 30 year old vehicle with 30 year old parts, was able to keep up with a modern day rocket. says so much about the supra.

Most people don’t realize. That super sport bikes 1st gear can lunch them to 60-80mph without redlining. Placing the bike right in its power band, with that rolling start. My r1 would do 70mph in 1st at 11k rpm.
I couldve sworn i seen an crossplane r1 get to like 99mph in 1st... Mustve been trippin...

@@doublleg7833 Yeah your right. I went back and looked at old video of me maxing out the bike. 1st gear was from 0-100mph. On a 2007 R1.
Some modern liter bikes are geared over 100mph in first. My old 12R with stock gearing at redline in first is good for 92mph. You only see that in theory since you have to short shift in first to keep the front end down.
Zx10R will do 100-102 in first. Jokes. My Hornet does 67mph in first and its a basic bike.

Roll race was bike advantage for sure. All bikes struggle with traction in a drag. It spins or wants to wheelie. Even with half that power. You usually have to stand on the back brake a some while accelerating to keep the front wheel down.
Not that I am biased or anything but the RSV4 sound gives me chills :o
Never bet against a litre bike with 5 stage traction control/wheelie control and a quickshifter. Even a Tuono would have mopped that supra prolly.

Bike got seriously underestimated. One of the latest carwow video's with a redbull moto gp bike (way higher power/weight) vs a twin turbo lambo was pretty good! It's amazing to see how good they launch as well, when driven by a pro. The lambo got completely embarrassed. But yeah, it's not for everyone, you need to be fearless/nuts to get the most of them.
