To make a small version of this can I do it with only 12 stitches? Or wouldn't the pattern work on something that small? I also like the long raindrop if that's what it's called. Please let me know if either of these will work for a small scarf.

Yes, the stitch book simply shows knit stitch patterns. This is a complete project, which has additional instructions.
Is it possible to knit this in the round? It's gorgeous but I prefer a cowl neck scarf. Thanks
You could just sew the ends together or graft it then there won’t be a seam. 😊🎃
