Ben and David! Two legends in one video!
Ahhhhhh, the Lulu is fantastic.
White river is an amazing OEM. However, I would like to see the Lulu available at a more affordable price. I feel like that was Ben's vision when he created the Banter and the backbone behind the entire Knaffs product line. Having said this, I love seeing a USA made Knaffs knife.
Hard disagree with ya there. That damn near perfect bushcraft fixed blade in Magnacut with the fact it's 100% made in the USA? I'm shocked it's such a bargain!
What he said. Everyone loves American made concept until they get the check. Which is why a lot of people choose foreign made. I'm happy Ben made things in America, nonetheless. I love he made a fixed blade EDC/scandi. It's perfect for the camp site and leave the big blades to Tops/Essee/Kabar etc.. I love how Ben is pushing the envelope and puts solid thought and time into everything. 🍻🔥
Who says it's not "affordable"?
@@lyman135lol esees are 100 bucks as are other white river knives but this ones got that knafs tax
For an american made magnacut full tang fixed blade with micarta with a good fit and finish. $230 is a steal my guy. There are companies making s35vn fixed blades for the same price with worse handle materials in the us.
GOATs of the knife community in stereo. Consider my night made. Thanks!
Love Ben, good interview and cool knives. Thanks David.
Super cool. Apologies for being a size queen, but I’m really hoping knafs makes a 6” lockback or something one day. I’d love a huge knife with open source easily swappable scales.
I think Ben has great intuition when he comes up with a design and he definitely knows what the knife community wants!!
Love that Lulu !
That Lulu looks awesome and when i learned White River is the OEM it made sense why I like it so much.
Yes!! Beautiful fixed blade!
The Lander 2 has me. It's small for my average knife but I'm in. The Big Banter sold me hard on Ben's design.
I finally took the leap away from Spyderco and bought a Big Banter. I don't prefer deep carry clips, but this knife draws easily from the pocket. I don't like the sharpening choil, it hangs up on anything I cut with it. I wish it didn't have the huge finger choil. Those are really very minor things. The proof is that it hasn't left my pocket since I got it. I rate it 10/10. I love the inlaid stainless liners, and Green Micarta is my favorite handle material. Lock up is rock solid. Opening is very smooth. Even though I like to slow roll open my knives, the blade basically flies out as soon as I push on the thumbstuds. I also bought a CJRB Resource, an Artisan Cutlery Snody Xcelerator, and a CIVIVI Elementum Button Lock. This is such a great idea. It's as fast as any auto once you get the hang of it. At first I would either not rotate it fast enough to fully open or throw it open so hard that the blade bounced back towards my fingers. It's similar to a gravity knife but legal to carry here. Super slim, possibly the most comfortable handle on a mid size folder I've ever owned. Highly recommended.
I love both knives for their nice clean lines. It would be great if there was a Germany-Compatible version of the Lander 2 - either a slipjoint or a version which requires 2-handed opening.
The first one is very similar to the drop bear, but I like the look of his knife better.
The mere fact that the Lander scales are open source is why I am leaning heavy towards that as my next purchase.
Same here. I'm going to slap some Green Micarta scales on mine. I've been waiting impatiently for this project to come to fruition. I'm also looking forward to trying out the Clutch Lock. I owned so many BM Axis Lock knives that had blade play. If I tightened the pivot, it wouldn't open smoothly. I really can't stand Lock Rock. It's unacceptable to me when other companies are churning out knives with other Lock types that are consistently rock solid and open smoothly. I like S35VN alot. I've owned and used several CRK Knives in S35VN. It takes and holds a wicked sharp edge.
The fixed blade looks really good, but I wish the jimping extened a bit further out. I definitely think the price is right on it for a USA magnacut. I also like that raw finish.
Couple of good dudes. Nice.
Knafs please do budget verson of the Lander 2. it will be good for me and for your production :)
It'd budget enough
Fr nitro v, 12c, or 14c would be perfect for a $60 or %70 version
THANK YOU
That knife Lulu looks great 👍🏽
Can't wait to get my Lander 2...I kinda wish I went for the blue now though haha...
I love Ben’s designs but I would like to see a less expensive version of the Lulu.
That fixed blade is perfect. I have a lionsteel about that size that I love. I don't need the lulu, we'll have to see how long i can go before I end up getting one.
Do you know how many times I’ve said, “ Hey it’s David C Anderson”?…..a lot
Great job Ben!
I really want the fixed blade with full flat ground blade.
Ben, received my LULU today; not a review here, a question. Why did you omit a 90 deg spine? I feel with that, this would be an exceptional Bushcraft Knife, without it, it's only good. Throwing a steady, condensed spark with a Ferro rod for fire making is essential, taking the knife to a different level IMHO. Thanks
Ben answered this in some other videos. If a knife doesn't have a 90 degree spine, people who want it can relatively easily modify the knife to have a 90 degree spine, but if a knife comes with a 90 degree spine, it's a lot harder to modify it to be the other way around.
@@PPeteris "Easily modify"? Please explain this process to me...
@@Recon-qg8lx That's what Ben said. It's easier with a file or a grinder to make a 90 degree spine than to make a rounded one.
YAHOO!👍
Good to see. Ben’s first design didn’t even have a reversible clip, not all is ambi. Lefty approved.
How the world is that more than any other clutch lock like drop bear …. So many more that look way better
I missed the “whaaaaat is up guys”
price too high, sorry. bought white river ursus45 s45vn for the same price.
Love his USA ethos but I'll stick with a $15 Mora.
The old classic Moras with red oval wooden handle is now around $40-50, depending on size no 1, 2 or 3, here in Sweden, sad to say, but still worth every cent. I would avoid the plastic handle ones. The tang sticking out from the handle is sometimes very useful. :)
I want that knife hope it doesn't go up in price
Snagged a Lulu. Was waiting for a US made product from Knafs.
Where's Spyderco
To bad he didn't make a Banter with the Clutch Lock
Didn’t yet. 🤫😏

Damn, Imma gunna invent me an electric knife…nevermind
For someone with such experience, influence and marketability Ben sure makes some boring ass knives. Well boring to me, im sure plenty of others will disagree 😜
Ha! Look up Occam’s Razor. Simplicity isn’t for everyone, but I sure like it.
Nty. I can see the appeal tho for sure. Hes been doing it and doing it well for longer than ive even been a knife guy. Loved his knife reviews when he was at bladehq. His designs just aint for me.@@benbanters
@@lucasc5651 ha! Totally fine. My designs don't have to be for everyone.
Uh, Ben… this surfer style with beard and hair is cool, but it is really irritating on you. It distracts from your smile. Just a side note … knife berserk continue❤
Ha! I was Bob Ross for Halloween. It had to be done.
I'll pick up a Lulu
Knafs is a Chinese brand? I have many problems with Civivi D2 and QSP D2. For me no more experiments.
Ben Peterson is a knife designer that outsources his designs to OEMs like civivi and kizer. The lulu fixed blade OEM is White River knives and is made in the USA.
Nope. We’re a Utah brand that uses OEMs from all over.
Nobody is gonna mention how the guy who pretty much created Blade HQ's social media brand is doing social media promo on Blade HQ's biggest competition?!?
Nope. Because he’s at Blade Show West as an exhibitor/vendor and is doing promo with everybody; Blade HQ, Smoky Mtn, and Knife Center all included. Couldn’t be less of a nonissue.
