I admire your efforts to keep the internal faces so clean throughout the process. We've all seen and known people approach glue ups in a truly frantic manner! 😅 Nice use of the Leigh jig too and not oversized pins.

Thanks for the great video Ollie. Fab tip about using the PU glue to reduce time spent in clamps, especially good for when you haven't got too many clamps! Cheers.

Great video. Unicorn tears appears to be easier to find in Germany than the Xylo J30 PU. Soudal makes a similar product that is available here, but the working time is only 15 minutes. The search continues.

Great vid on this subject. Planning to do a kitchen refurb myself and building quite a few draws. Is this PU glue arguably as strong as say PVA, Titebond III. As this would be so much easier as you mentioned without the need of a million clamps. Plus would the PU glue be suitable for most wood working projects?
Many thanks and a great job. 👍👍👍

I've really got to try tube glue, I use tube construction adhesive (thick PU glue) and it's hit or miss for a lot of construction work but that PU glue you use doesn't seem to expand like the liquid stuff I've tried. Also you don't appear to wet one side either.

Loving your videos on drawer making in such detail, I also have a Leigh dr4 and the problems I always get are in setting the jig up and bit height adjustments, which always eats so much time. If you have any tips for how to go about setting it up quickly when changing material thickness or bit type please make a short video!

Brilliant mate 👍🏻 Pu changed my life, not sure I can get that xylo out here but .
    Unobond I use, bloody brilliant
Used the Leigh one time for a job, what a prick of a thing to set up when you don’t know and are learning the system.
The book is good but it doesn’t factor in the ‘thick chippy’ factor! 😂
Job came up good but, guy didn’t appreciate it it ( might as well have biscuit and glued it !) and I lost money if you factor in the jig 🤷
    Still got it but 👍🏻
    Hope you’re good

Brilliant work as always!! Is it best to wear gloves when glueing up as is it difficult to remove the polyurethane glue off your hands if not wearing gloves? Also is it best to use the glue in a manual or powered caulk gun when applying it?
Hope all is well, take care

    • @BradshawJoinery
      @BradshawJoinery  3 місяці тому +1

Yeah always wear some disposable gloves. Manual gun is best, something with fine controll over power as it's generally easy to squeeze out

Great video, thank you! Another very important step in glueing up a drawer is to check it for twist. That can be easily achieved by sighting front to back. When we made traditional drawers, we would make drawer slips rather than grooving the drawer sides. Cheers🍺🍺

Thank you for making this video. I love this level of detail. Very well done! I had heard that polyurethane glue benefits from water in the joint. Have you heard of that? Looks to me like your boxes are well and tight all round, so probably not an issue. Thanks again!!
