I am watching from Singapore. Quite the opposite, my mother took me to an art academy when I was 12 year old, the academy was only few minutes walk from our former residence. The art instructor said that I was too young, he probably didn't find any talent in me as well that I was rejected. That was in the 1970's. There was no art workshops for children then. Instead, in my twenties, I went to a hotel school in Switzerland but didn't like it at all. I started doing art in my 40's after my divorce. Not formerly trained in art, I had to work part time or ad hoc jobs to support my hobby in doing art. It really has been a struggle. Thanks for your video. Last year, I went for a two month's short courses in oil painting, we had to create some paintings for assignment. One of my classmates from South Korea said that she felt peaceful from my paintings. At least I now know I am moving towards the right direction, giving peace to the audience. I am now 62 years old, still hope to create more paintings.

@@linilin2641 Hi Grace, thank you for your reply. Sure I would like to take a look at your artwork. I’ll mail you. Besides that, it is very clear that art does mean anything yo you. Very good that you didn’t give up and just started. It sounds stupid but it’s never too late to start. Just go on and aim high. I made another video about talent you might like to watch. There is no such thing as talent. The video is called ‘No wonder you can’t’. Maybe Art SG ‘26 is yours?

I've always enjoyed my artistic journey, I still remember the lovely lady that helped me get started on oil painting, she was the only one that could actually show me the techniques and skills on how to produce a lovely landscape painting, sadly she moved out of our city, which meant I was on my own, which I then just figured everything else out on my own, it's been an up and down journey, but one I've enjoyed 😊

And that’s the way it works. It’s our own creative journey in the end. That’s also the most interesting part of it. Thank you for reacting

My mom and dad were from Holland many years ago. I was told ART doesn't make money, and that held me back. I was able to see and draw things realistically at age 7. I'm 70 years old. I still have trouble with art to this day.
Thank you for your encouragement. 😊❤

That sounds so sad. I think our parents had hard times too. Where did they came from? I have lots of family in Canada. Art is within us. I hope you have found joy again in making art. Maybe it’s a blessing that you haven’t been spoiled by artschools and are still pure in your art. Go on, create.

@Aquarelamore My maiden name is Vervoordeldonk. My relatives come from and still are in Asten N. Brabant. There is a small town with the name of Voordeldonk. Asten is famous for making the best bells 🔔 in all of the Netherlands.
      Thank you for your encouragement.
