Heres a tip I learned today after getting two of these delivered.
First, put aside a ziplock bag or container in the freezer, so you can make up multiple ice balls in advance. never worry about running out of your bad ass crystal globes again, this way you'll have many ready to go at any moment.
Secondly, heres the interesting part. Don't let it freeze completely. it becomes MUCH harder to remove when its frozen fully through. Remove it if you can when theres a couple of millimetres worth of ice around the outside with a little sphere of water trapped within. it pops out much easier and wont break as you transfer it to the ziplock bag in the freezer. it finishes freezing in the bag, all while giving you a couple of hours spare to make another in the now unused mould.

Hi, how long roughly did you leave it to part freeze before removing?

Fill to fill line, freeze, squeeze two tabs, ball pops right out. Simple. Follow EASY instructions.

Instead of filling it to the brim, then putting on the top over a sink with water spilling all over then pouring excess water and then squeezing some of it out, just fill the mold up to the line where the cover meets the mold. You won't have any spillage, the amount will be just right when expanded to give you a full globe of ice.

They have no instructions in the box I got (yesterday, from 99 Cent store for $1.99), BUT you don't need to overfill -- just fill to the fill line. And you don't need to run hot water over it. All you have to do is press the tiny hole as you lift the lid and turn it upside down. Then release your finger from the hole, and the sphere will pop out

    Tips:
    1) Leave in the freezer for just under 24hrs, this will make it clear and completely transparent.
    2) When removing from the freezer let it set for 10/15 minutes and then remove from the mould. This prevents cracks.
    3) Put them in a ziplock bag until you need to use them.
    👍🏼

Do not use faucets with aerators to fill mold. The air causes cloudy, cracked balls.

As long as my whisky doesnt change at all its taste for using traditional ice cubes, then I really dont need to use an ice sphere. What japanese should do is to search ways on how to elaborate better quality whiskys (only hibiki is worth paying its price)
