A tip for ya'll when ice cubes are ready. Run under HOT water, for about 10 seconds. Make sure you get the bottom of the tray. TWIST the trays. They will come out easily. You're welcome. =) =)
So I also purchased the same ice cube molds, I find for the sphere size mold, you have to fill the bottom half first, then put the top on and press each sphere to snap in place so the water can’t escape each one, then fill rest of the way using the funnel, if it spills over it’s ok!! The ice comes out perfectly rounded 😁
Grace Benton I was ready to murder those spheres because not only was the water transferring to the other ones the water kept jumping out into the tray. It was snapping shut either so I gave up so now I’m going to have ice inside the top tray around the circles 😭
Nina Lozada // I usually have water sit on top of the tray around the circles. It’s usually not much. It brakes off really easy when i open the molded.
A little tip for the spheres, if you "click" the silicone trays together, it keeps the water from transferring to the other molds and makes better balls...
@@xero9ravity150 sometimes it works, overtimes not... I'm not sure how to describe, but the one I have had a raised lip around the ball... It seems to snap into the other half of the mold, except when it won't... It's kinda frustrating
@@theartistformerlyknownasbr4849 It's just really hard cuz you don't see the ridge, so no way to tell if it's closed or not. i thought i pressed it pretty tight but then it just filled up in the middle anyway :D
For the spheres, use a butter k ice and chip away the rough edges and you’ll have a nice round cube. I make dozens and put them in a large ziplock bag and keep in freezer.
4:08 I've got the same tray. it's quite difficult for me to put the water in. the water just runs from one ball to another or to the gap:) and it's difficult to observe if one ball is full or not because it's not transparent. glad you made nice ice ones
The ice ball system has to be pinched together juuuussst right. That means pressing around the joint of all six balls. {edit} I just overfill them directly from my filter pitcher and let the extra water freeze. A moment under hot water when you're releasing the balls and everything works it's way out.
I was just talking with someone and they mentioned that they saw small funnels at Walmart. He said they were in the camping section. I did a search on walmarts web page and found small funnels.
Your supposed to fill the bottom mold up almost all the way (some have a mark for fill line, past the sphere mold) then press on the top mold carefully (edges first) the holes are there to let out the air, the water will be pushed into the top half and if done correctly only a little bit of water will come out the top hole. No need for a funnel Hope this helps
Ian, checking out your video because I recently received an ice ball tray as a gift. Was searching for tips and tricks on their removal. The tray bottom is hard plastic and the top is silicone. The ice balls are difficult to remove from the silicone half. They easily pop right out of the bottom. Anyway, great video, sir. I admire your taste in whiskey and glassware! Cheers!
Looking around for a good whisky ice mold and came across this. First thought, “oh his shirt says duck river, cool I am by a duck river,” and then, “wait he also has a Muletown hat and and Asgard growler!?" haha nice to meet a fellow Columbian!
Anyone know if these are 100% silicone? Wanna try putting them in the oven to get rid of the garlic taste that they've picked up from the freezer but they'll burn if they contain anything other than silicone
James Lancaster mine spill over also. When I open them up I just knock off the extras. When I shut the molds I do try my best to get them really closed. Then when i fill them I’m careful about over pouring the mold. But there is usually some kind of seeping.
I wasn’t timing the freezing but I don’t think they were in there for 24 hours. When I’m making a batch of cubes I like for them to be in the molds for 24 hours. There is nothing scientific to that....just a preference.
Hello, but I see LG, has ROUND ICE AVAILABLE, MY REF/FRZR HAS CRESCENTS, BUT I use RO WATER, so they come out CLEAR, having zero minerals in the water. Cheers 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Wendy, you should make a video. I’ve spent way too much time trying to figure out these sphere molds and I’m still struggling!
yeah! thats a great idea!

Why didn't I think of that? That's a great idea on your part. Thank you Wendy.

Click how exactly? I think i tried closing them up but it's still not stuck together

I run them under warm water for a bit and push them out from the bottom.

I just got the same one in the mail. Made one batch. It’s a pain in the rumpus to make the ice balls.
"round cubes" a.k.a. spheres
haha!

yeah, it would be nice to have a better way of telling if the tray was full. I just stop when they are all overflowing.
I came here for that reason. the square mold works greate but I couldn't get the ball mold to work.

I have this spherical tray and my first try failed so I'm here to learn
The round ones are such a pain to fill!! Was trying to find a video on the easy way to do it. I need that funnel.

I gave up on the spheres

yeah, they are hard to get out. Thanks man!!
i just got this set plus a diamond, the issue i had was keeping the molds together, the water kept separating the mold in the round one
Good video. THey are a lot of fun
I'm glad you didn't fill the water up too much. People don't mention that water expands when cooled.
After pulling from mold, rinse quick till smooth them put in freezer again for a few minutes
Nvm you said that
thats a great idea
Next time you take out the trays wait 2mins then take the cubes or circle out
Cheers! 🥃
I would say use distilled water so that there are no extra flavors added from the fridge's water..
Anyone else got triggered that he kept calling them Circles when they are Spheres? XD
haha!!
I want but This Size ?
I just got these trays. So confused as to how the sphere one works idk.
Hope the video helped you figure it out!
what the hell!!! mine didn't come with a funnel!
Looking around for a good whisky ice mold and came across this. First thought, “oh his shirt says duck river, cool I am by a duck river,” and then, “wait he also has a Muletown hat and and Asgard growler!?" haha nice to meet a fellow Columbian!
oh yeah!! we love it in Columbia!
now I know to get the single sphere molds.
this is late always wash first before u use it wash out ur ice cream tub n use it for ice
🤝cool
How did u get that funnel 3:56 ?
It came with the molds!
Anyone know if these are 100% silicone? Wanna try putting them in the oven to get rid of the garlic taste that they've picked up from the freezer but they'll burn if they contain anything other than silicone
How did you get the round icecube container seal? Every time I pour it spills into the next sphere.
James Lancaster mine spill over also. When I open them up I just knock off the extras. When I shut the molds I do try my best to get them really closed. Then when i fill them I’m careful about over pouring the mold. But there is usually some kind of seeping.
How long does it take to freeze
I wasn’t timing the freezing but I don’t think they were in there for 24 hours. When I’m making a batch of cubes I like for them to be in the molds for 24 hours. There is nothing scientific to that....just a preference.
I find there is an after taste with silicone molds
You need to wash them
2031we go to the moon still can make moon rock ice cubes
Quiet your gonna wake the kids lol

Flyby Airplane sweet! Making clear ice is on my todo list.
🍊
You overpaid bro. Same thing at Wal-Mart for 4 dollars and change. Just different packaging.
Not all walmarts.. usually don't have em in small towns
I got mine from Walmart but no funnel and no instructions 😂
I don’t know which is the worst design the ice cube trays OR that jug ha ha!
haha! yeah...that is terrible to pour water from
Your parents must be so proud their son growed up to talk a whopping 10 mins about ice cubes!
haha! i bet my uncut version would be 30min!
What does that say about you for watching it?
I have no doubt you made yours proud when they were with us… RIP… the trauma of repeat failure was just too much I guess! 😔
Round cubes? This guy must be a flat earther.
haha!
I came here cause i was borred ass F**k!
Take to long for no reason
