I love some good story telling. Especially how there are so many ways to interpret them. Either he is watching a younger version of himself, or maybe that whole time it was his father, and when its revealed at the end that the old man is Nathan, its NFs way of explaining his fear of becoming his father. He wants to be present and be a positive role model for his own kids, and he fears letting them down. Great song and video.
I think it's more like he is afraid of letting himself down He is afraid of being sad and depressed, locking himself inside a cage with the keys in his hand! We can see this clearly in Hope when he watches the same old version of himself inside the mansion
@@mohameda.elemary3342 I too see it as letting himself down. Ngl I hate and love this song. It makes me just depressed bc I think Abt the 4 yrs of highschool I spent alone, the only thing driving me forward my passion for soccer. To hopefully get recruited by college coaches and have that moment of signing the contract Infront of Alot of plp. I know it's selfish but I just always wanted to feel special and be someone important. But as the years went my coach kind of ruined how things went with his shit tactics. He was never a soccer coach in the first place, he was a football coach . And senior year, the worst year of my life, basically everything I worked for just for it to be a huge let down, and it was my other 2 fellow seniors on the team who signed a contract Infront of hundreds of people, while I was there watching, painfully screaming inside, replaying this song. I don't really feel suicidal but at that moment I just wanted to leave forever.
Great insight Nate S. I think it is intended to be both, he might even say "parent", but if you listen to Nate from The Search he feels like he let himself down and that becomes clearer in Hope because it definitely is the old Nate in the cell. The version of Nate that stayed trapped in the cage he built himself even though he has the keys. That is pretty clear. But, I know Nate has says he likes to leave things open for interpretation, and your theory is amazing. Nice one.
Your NF reactions are my favorite. Hearing insight into the video production/filming and how it relates to his impeccable story telling is awesome. Thanks for this unique insight!!!
It's crazy from the perspective of someone who knows nothing about videography. Watching your videos points out all these camera tracks and the tone they set scene by scene simply with the camera work and how it plays into the story. It's something that I personally never noticed, and would've never thought about. However, once pointed out I can easily see how the entire visuals could be changed without them. Fantastic videos. Innovative, and eye opening.
The end is so much better when you already know what it means and you see someone who react to it for the first time. It’s so funny and astonishing at the same time.
Love that you catched that it’s Nate himself as an old man watching himself dying. Lots of people don’t get it because they don’t now Nate’s story or even his name. Love your reactions 🫶🏻
You are genuinely one of the best reactors I’ve encountered on UA-cam. Your passion and ability to break down certain components really works well with your editing, attentiveness, and industry knowledge. Well done. 🎉
This is a continuation of his story, here he is looking back as an old man, watching a part of himself die. Its good to note that this is the NF in all black in the video. In his recent video Hope, (great reaction to that), NF opens a room to find this man, in a cage, which is representing another video, Outcast. the juxtaposition of Let you Down and Outcast my have a deeper meaning. Here I feel NF is seeing his darker self die maybe, but still arises in his later life in Hope. love the reactions, new fave channel :)
Yes NF was actually in the water. He does all his stuff. You see him doing something, it’s him. I love that about him and he was in the car. You need to watch how could you leave us!!
You give one of the most entertaining reactions due to your experience and knowledge but you've got a really down to earth personality that draws people to more and more content of yours. Great work, hopefully you'll go down the NF journey and keep expanding your channel 🙏
Few times watched rappers' reaction videos, but listening to you evaluating the quality of production and the story is a pure pleasure. Thank you for your content!
It's very impressive how many times you said WOW and the look on your face. I love your reactions to his videos. He can tell stories both lyrically and visually.
I love seeing your reactions in general, but especially to NF. I highly encourage you to keep watching through his older stuff while we wait on HOPE to drop. Keep up the great work :)
This shows how NF's storytelling is nextgen. I believe the actor playing the old man in this video is the same actor that plays Old Nate that is in the jail cell in his Hope music video. Next Next Level.
Appreciate your NF reactions. He works with some great people to help visualize his mysic n ideas onto a screen. Everyone is just so good. His earlier videos seemed to have a similar color tone to this. I know you watched Hope n it seemed he had a different color tone that was brighter. Thanks again
you neeeeeeed to see NF's "If you want love" from the same album, it's such a good song with beautiful story in a music video! I love your NF reactions, thank you for sharing your knowledge about the filmmaking! subbed & liked, waiting for more :)
I noticed you watched Hope before Let You Down but im not sure if you caught it but the man in the cage of Hope is the same man in Let You Down here. Then him being in the cage is part of the Perception album, Outcast music video. ps. I was apart of the Motto video and it was such a great experience. I'm the one he put his feet up on my shoulder, I'm on the left (when watching the video). It was truly a great experience meeting Nate and getting the chance to talk to him. For me, the coolest part of it all was just being on a set which was my first time ever, and just seeing how hard he works on his projects and how involved he is in the process. I don't know if every artist is like this or what, but Nate is something special . He's also directing too with how he wants things done too. His director he's used for 20 to 21 videos, Patrick Tohill, he's the mastermind behind his videos.
The old man was also in Hope, inside that cage in the mansion scene. Also could you please react to Niall Horan's music videos? They are amazing, simplistic but yet very artistic. Also great video!
Although this video/song can be interpreted differently, like the old man being his dad, he's actually old NF talking to his younger self. Loved your reaction once again!
Talk about amazing story telling. Now that you’ve seen this video rewatch his new video Hope and you’ll notice the old man from this video is also the same old man in a cage once he’s in the mansion. Nate is one AMAZING story teller and artist
Whats beautiful is your reactions my man, never thought I’d enjoy hearing so much about the production man good job for finding out at the end, can’t wait for the next one!
The old man was also in the Video Hope in a jail cell in one of the rooms in the mansion that you already reacted too! The old man is NF when he is older. At the end his wife calls for him that show NF on his wrist which he has on his wrist real life!
The moment when he opens the casket and is sad, yet he could have saved him when he was drowning/burning in the car. That part just gets me deep in my feels, looking at the perspective of parent and son, parents want to say they did everything for you, everything to save you, yet they are shocked when you fail. And the at the end it's Nathan (NF), showing his fear of becoming his father
NF uses backwards shots in his videos (and reversed audio) to express his always looking back in life. His OCD causes him to ruminate and question himself, often. He has trouble letting the past go = depression.
Nf is insane. You’re the best reviewer out there , no stupid pausing throughout etc. So good. Have a look at “In this moment” , she’s a ridiculously good entertainer , song I recommend is “blood” !
Fun Fact: The car seen where it was on fire was actually real to my knowledge. They completely broke down the car except the outside of it. So no engine or anything and just set it on fire with Nate inside. Truly shows how much he cares for his music and the message he gives!
I believe this is NF talking to his older self and the older self is talking about how NFs life turned out is a let down to what current NF would like it to be. Edit: thanks for doing these videos! I have learned a lot and watch every single one of them. And then you got it at the end! That’s what I get for commenting to early!
wonderfull song but i this one was a recommendation i and probaly lot of us have done so i was waiting to see your face at the end especially. Insane video as always
I love some good story telling. Especially how there are so many ways to interpret them. I love your NF reactions so much. 🙏🏼 🙂 I love NF I love all his songs. Especially let you down. Beautiful song.
thank you so much!
Magyarok ❤❤
@@itsjonhiller Your NF reactions are the BEST. (We love the Eminem and Hopsin reactions as well!!)
NF reactions top notch. You teach me something on each one.
thank you!
Fills me with chills whenever I hear this. Love your analysis of the filmography as well!
thank you!
In my opinion NF is on an OTHER LEVEL! ,& I love how you point out all the nuances in his videos!
agreed. thanks so much!
NF retells the older version juxtaposed with his younger in his song hope. It's beautiful how he ties his songs together. A real genius.
bro... your reaction after realising it's Nate not his father was priceless.
We all know that it will be incredible
Your NF reactions are my favorite. Hearing insight into the video production/filming and how it relates to his impeccable story telling is awesome. Thanks for this unique insight!!!

NF ties in all his music videos themes together in like a huge movie 🎥. He is a storyteller him and Ren are so talented
Please do more NF!!! Really love your videos
thanks so much!
"How Could You Leave Us" is an emotional one
The end is so much better when you already know what it means and you see someone who react to it for the first time. It’s so funny and astonishing at the same time.

this is the man that is in the cage in the music video of hope. just 1 of the many throwbacks to older songs in that music video
This is a continuation of his story, here he is looking back as an old man, watching a part of himself die. Its good to note that this is the NF in all black in the video. Older man is the same actor in the cage in Hope. It's Nate's older self who was locked in the cage holding the keys.
Amazing reaction! Glad you watched till the end to see that it was actually Nathan talking to himself.
amazing reveal!
You might recognize the old man is the man in the cage with the key from "Hope"
Hit me as well sir! I looked you dead in the eye when we both realized at the same time… he was NF… the old man was him! Much love! 🌸
One day I’d love to get a reaction for you! Keep it up! Your content is great!
Yes NF was actually in the water. He does all his stuff. You see him doing something, it’s him. I love that about him and he was in the car. You need to watch how could you leave us!!
I love how this connects to Outcast and Hope! I love your breakdowns!
thanks so much!
You reaaaallyyyy neeeeed to watch NF-Story
This Video is completely insane!
We LOVE NF
Incase you hadn’t noticed and no one else said it, this is the old man in the cage from the Hope music video.
All nf songs I've heard it has some part that gives me goosebumps
And now we love you!!!
You give one of the most entertaining reactions due to your experience and knowledge but you've got a really down to earth personality that draws people to more and more content of yours. Great work, hopefully you'll go down the NF journey and keep expanding your channel 🙏
YESSS THE SONG I WANTED. ITS SUCH A BEAUTIFUL SONG.
Haven’t even seen it yet and I love it.
Few times watched rappers' reaction videos, but listening to you evaluating the quality of production and the story is a pure pleasure.
Thank you for your content!
Nf is so good putting his Storys to videos and songs
It's very impressive how many times you said WOW and the look on your face. I love your reactions to his videos. He can tell stories both lyrically and visually.
still the best reactions out there
I love seeing your reactions in general, but especially to NF. I highly encourage you to keep watching through his older stuff while we wait on HOPE to drop. Keep up the great work :)
I was waiting for you to realize it was Nate all along. Got Goosebumps once you realized. Loving your Reactions!
that mouth drop in the end was priceless! Been watching alot of your NF reactions since yesterday. they got me hooked! New sub here
You should do "Story" by NF. Top notch storytelling. Love your insights. ⚡
He already did! :)
It’s BOTH he’s a genius name 1 artists that’s connected all their albums together the way he does like a massive movie
👌👌👌
Let You Down is a big part of my childhood. This made my day
0:27 I just realized, thats the same thing that they did with the new all quiet on the western front movie
This shows how NF's storytelling is nextgen. I believe the actor playing the old man in this video is the same actor that plays Old Nate that is in the jail cell in his Hope music video. Next Next Level.
You always open my eyes to new ways of which movies and videos are shot
Dude i found you last week and im ashamed to say i dont think ive seen any of your work but im hooked on your voice its so relaxing
Thats the old man who was in HOPE video
I like what you said about the green-blue feeling tenacious but ominous, because it always makes me think of Southern Gothic sort of movies.
This is my favorite NF music video! It’s so awesome that he can tell a story so good. I love your work. Keep it up man!👌🏼
I love your NF reactions please do I just wanna know!

Waiting for your reaction to MOTTO would love to see your film breakdown!
Superb reaction. I very much enjoy all of your reactions.
Yesssss I was hoping you would do this one
Could you react to NF - THE SHEARCH too? I very love that song, and the camera work is amazing too!
Greetings from Turkey, love your videos and love your comments about music videos. I learned from you a lot man! Keep it up!
i like how honest he is
Yeah, that "Nathan" at the end gets me every time
The old man future NF is also the same guy in the Hope video in the portable mansion (cage) inside the actual mansion with keys.
I noticed you watched Hope before Let You Down but im not sure if you caught it but the man in the cage of Hope is the same man in Let You Down here. Then him being in the cage is part of the Perception album, Outcast music video.

so good..
what a lovely and interesting way of doing reaction videos
enjoyed it

thanks so much!
Oh, I jumped the gun a little bit, woops, you realised haha!
i also notice that your NF videos have a lot more views than other ones. that speaks volume about NF's influence
NF has explained that there are two different stories at the same time, the song is about his parents and the video is about himself
Time is another interesting story made by NF, you could check that out, great video btw
Talk about amazing story telling. Now that you’ve seen this video rewatch his new video Hope and you’ll notice the old man from this video is also the same old man in a cage once he’s in the mansion. Nate is one AMAZING story teller and artist
Jonathan, great videos. Ive been asking for a while THE SEARCH HAS to be next! Its cinematic greatness!
Whats beautiful is your reactions my man, never thought I’d enjoy hearing so much about the production man good job for finding out at the end, can’t wait for the next one!
I really love your NF reactions
Great video reactions buddy! It's nice to get a different perspective of viewing these videos and to understand the work behind it. Thanks
I'm happy to see you coming back to NF music. Keep up the good work!
Beautiful song and reaction. Keep going! Already 35K subscribers)
Love your reactions Jonathan.
The old man was also in the Video Hope in a jail cell in one of the rooms in the mansion that you already reacted too! The old man is NF when he is older. At the end his wife calls for him that show NF on his wrist which he has on his wrist real life!
Love your insights in to film making, keep rolling them out!
I didn't cry, you cried!
Love your reactions man !
Great breakdown. Thank you. 🤍
You should watch all NF's music videos starting with the oldest ones to see how he evolves.
Song is amazing…video is beautiful…reaction is informative and engaging. Great job my dude!
Love his music and your reactions! I've a new sub to your channel and trying to understand editing for my personal videos. Love your work as well!
The old man is actually an older version of NF. We see this fully at the end of this but also in the NF hope music video.
YESSSS❤
Such a great song and video, your reactions and breakdowns are stellar.
That moment when the reactor finally realizes that the old man *IS* NF.
Dude! MOTTO by NF just dropped. Would LOVE if you reacted to it!!!
The moment when he opens the casket and is sad, yet he could have saved him when he was drowning/burning in the car. That part just gets me deep in my feels, looking at the perspective of parent and son, parents want to say they did everything for you, everything to save you, yet they are shocked when you fail. wonderfull song but i this one was a recommendation i and probaly lot of us have done so i was waiting to see your face at the end especially. Insane video as always
NF's music videos are cinematic experiences
so much so
