  • This week i'm doing some RV maintenance when it comes to the axles and wheel bearings and just giving everything around those look like they're in good shape. I have an older video where I worked on straitening a out of line wheel. In the past couple years the tire has worn much better but still just a little uneven wearing on the inside edge still, so I decided to revisit the axle and see if I could get it better. Also I repack the wheel bearings which our RV has easy lube axles.
    I did purchase a new portable hydraulic jack which helped so much. It allowed me to be able to use it horizontal and also stand back out of danger zone while stressing those chains. All in all I'm happy with the way it turned out as it measures really close to dead on now. I'll update in time and let everyone know if that tire is wearing nice and even.

    Chuck, you need to raise the wheel and mark the top with chalk at 12 o'clock. pump one shot of grease , then turn 5 minutes on wheel, one or 2 pumps and continue all the way around. This greases the inside bearing evenly all the way around as the grease then travels to the outside bearings. if you don't turn it you only get new grease in one little area of the bearing and races ... OK KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK... THIS WILL HELP A LOT OF PEOPLE WHO DON'T KNOW THIS EXCELLENT TRICK..... Todd

    Alli and Chuck congratulations to you guys on 2,000!! What an accomplishment and well deserved:) Love this video, you make it easy to understand and those time lapse shots really cement the content in! Honestly I have been noticing some uneven wear on our rear tires as well and now you have me thinking the uneven axle alignment might be the culprit :/ bummers! Honestly I don't have the tools with me on the road to get this job done, but I will have to make this a priority to get it addressed before a disaster happens! I am notorious for checking tire pressures religiously, so I can rule that out lol Thank you guys for sharing! Always great to see your faces smiling, keep up the great work 😊 - Kyle and Renee

      Are both the back tires wearing on the inside edges? If so that axle has probably lost it camber. That can be fixed easier than the toe of the wheel. But there are shops that can do trailer alignments. But if the wear isn’t too bad I probably wouldn’t worry too much. Sounds like you’re definitely keeping your eyes on everything which is good! 😊 do you have a TMPS on the trailer tires? Thanks guys for the kind words! 😁 Btw what drone do you have? I have a couple the Spark and the Mavic Air. Again your shots were EPIC!!!! Great job! 😁

      AlliChuck Adventures yes they are wearing out on the inside but not too bad. We used to have a TPMS but now we just check manually before each drive! We might get a TPMS again though! Can never be too safe! We have a mavic air 2 drone and it has been awesome! Thank you again for the kind words!

    Congratulations on your subscribers! I use a "BedRug" accessory called the "TrackMat" when working underneath the travel trailer. I don't leave home without it. It was $25.00, now it is apparently $41.00.

    Good job chuck and congrats to y’all on 2000 ps. Have y’all had those trailer tires balanced?

    • @AlliChuckAdventures
      @AlliChuckAdventures  3 роки тому

      Thanks! Yes they have been balanced. 😊 I have always believed in balancing even simplest trailer tires even though some places say no need.

    Price for Ramjack (max lift?) and chains (chain weight specs)? Save a couple old cardboard boxes and use those to lay on the next time you work on that trailer. Nice video.

    The 1/8" toe in hasn't caused any abnormal wear? I had my whole tire go completely bald within 50 miles, but I'm sure my toe-out is more dramatic.

      After I straightened it the tires wore normal. We don’t have that Rv now. So far new one no real issues yet.

    Did you notice more sway with this axle problem?

    • @AlliChuckAdventures
      @AlliChuckAdventures  2 роки тому +1

      No not really. Mostly uneven tire wear. That was major issue.

    Was this bending your chain at all? I tried this approach with a bottle jack, and it broke the chain before it bent the axle.

    • @AlliChuckAdventures
      @AlliChuckAdventures  11 місяців тому

      When I first used a smaller chain it did break. Then I bought heavy duty one

    What grade chain are you using to do this?

    • @AlliChuckAdventures
      @AlliChuckAdventures  Рік тому

      Not sure. It’s been a couple years now but it was a real heavy duty one.
