There is sexual dimorphism in real echidnas with only the male ones having spurs, similar to the platypus. It could also be like males are inherently more built for combat so taking that from other irl species where the males have stronger muscles and/or more things like spikes only the male Knuckles Clan Echidnas could have hand spikes. However none of the Nocturnus Clan have spikes, including the males (and there's a theory that Tikal might be an adopted Nocturnus Echidna)

Channel Sonamy claims that Archie & SEGA tried to sell Archie Sonic in Latin America, but it was rejected for its lack of connection to the games. However, I found no such record of an attempt to sell Archie Sonic in Latin America. Is that a rumor or a lie or did that actually happen?
