At the age of 15 I became a CNA student. At that point, I could not speak a single word in English. Now, at the age of 28 I am finishing my bachelor abroad which is entirely taught in English. This is partly because of CNA. Thank you CNA and congratulations for such an awesome and beautiful win-win initiative.
I grew up never having any grandparents and this made me burst into tears. These old people were so sweet, it's a shame that they get so lonely and neglected by their families sometimes.
What a wonderful idea! Great inter-generational and cross-cultural experiences. We hosted a young student from Brazil (we are in Canada) and it was a wonderful experience. Thank you to FCB Brasil for this great video and showing how wonderful our world is and how technology can help bring people together! (all those negative comments should be removed - it is so ageist and damaging to our society)
Great initiative! Brilliant idea! Congratulations! And I hope that this program will expand to reach more people who surely loved participating in this program must either already behind impressive results.
This program should be expanded to retirement homes all around the world. What an incredible opportunity for students learning English and seniors, too.
Oh! It´s a fantastic idea! I was an CNA student. That school is amazing! The people who created this method of learning are just incredibles! Can you imagine, how it is for a person who was forgotten by the own family, talk to young people, that have a new vision of the world, some new histories to talk about. Just perfect! Congrats to CNA!
English is my third language and I have worked as a Nursing Assistant in a retirement home in Phoenix, AZ, United States. As someone who has seen both sides up close, I find this initiative absolutely wonderful. I wholeheartedly wish this would spread and become a common program in many nursing and retirement homes throughout the world.
This is great. I used to be a Hospice volunteer and simply met with elderly patients to talk with them and listen to their stories once a week. Nursing homes are really difficult to live in as the staff are exhausted or management is bad. Borden homes and retirement living places are a little bit easier on the elderly, but it still gets lonely. It's very rewarding and a great learning experience to volunteer to do this, I would highly recommend it to anyone who's willing to try it.
I used to love when I studied in CNA, I was too disciplined ... Good times that never comes again However today I'm so grateful because it helps me a lot to improve my vocabulary and more than that my listening and comprehension .. and if wasn't it, probably I'd find some problems in my last Exchange abroad =) Strongly recomend this school
As soon as the japanese kid said "you could stay at my home here" I knew it was all going to the shitter. "You're incredible" and "If you were here I'd give you a big hug" was just too much, that was when my eyes started sweating.
This means a lot to the seniors. It's not creepy, because these people are many times abandoned, these older folk are not creepy, speaking to them shouldn't be either, this warm's the heart of these older folk, and teaches respect and kindness to elders
That's such an amazing idea. I'm Canadian, but I'm living in Brazil for a while. It's really incredible that you guys are trying to make elder's lives better! That kid in the video speaks really well! You guys are awesome.
Great idea! Well done CNA. And for those who wants to know about the music in the background, that's "Ice Dance" from Danny Elfman. It was in the Edward Scissorshand OST.
This is why I want to teach English as a foreign language to German students. This video is absolutely beautiful and never ceases to make me cry. This is the impact that I want to make in the world!
Sensacional, simplesmente fantástico! Me emociono todas as vezes que vejo o vídeo.
I always recommend CNA to learn english. I studied for 3 years and half from 2002 to 2006, and I still remember many things and method they used to use! I enjoyed studying at CNA, now I am 25 years old and my first contact for speaking english was last month, I could speak and undestand people after years of studying. And now CNA brings this great idea !
This should be fucking free an open to the whole fucking world because is a wonderful idea! As a mexican I understand very well english because of youtube videos but lack abismal amount of practice in pronuntiation. I find myself talking alone in english to practice a little but it's not the same. This is a huge idea!
***** The thing about omegle and chatroulette is that you encounter lots of naked/fapping guys. A few years ago it was still sorta normal, but nowadays there's just nothing else to see there, besides dicks.
i choked on tears by the end of this video.. such a precious moment when the old lady exclaims: "you're my new grand daughter!" Such a compassionate idea that is thoroughly helpful for really needy.
This is idea is absolutely brilliant. What an excellent way to not only connect different languages from all over the world but connect people of different ages and cultures. This is genius and very heartwarming.
I've had an opportunity to be a volunteer in a nursing home in New York and it was both a heartbreaking and a wonderful experience for me. Although old people in the States are often sent to a "home" by their families, they are usually very smart, kind, well-cared for and full of life. I loved the way that lady gently corrected the girl who said "My brother "has" 23 years old..." Kudos to CNA. Great idea.
Yeah, this is the right way to use the Internet and new technologies, instead of wasting hours and days playing games and chatting uselessly.. I'd also like to have such a chance to improve my English ) And also I like speaking to old people, I understand them well and maybe if I had a chance to communicate with them I wouldn't miss my Grandparents so much(
Is a win win situation, they need people to talk to and the kids need to improve their english, that should be a common program across the country (USA) among other countries too.
| I feel so proud of this school. And even more with this beautiful and brilliant initiative, congratulations to all involved. Keep the good and amazing work up!
This is amazing. I hope more and more schools start similar programs.
I am very proud to say that I work at this retirement community and know all of thise residents. This was an amazing project.

your english is fantastic btw
The real beauty of language is that it connects people.
What a great use of technology AND human nature. Bravo / Valente
I grew up never having any grandparents and this made me burst into tears. These old people were so sweet, it's a shame that they get so lonely and neglected by their families sometimes.

Charlie Chaplin said : "More than machinery, we need humanity".
This fits what he said in so many ways. Some faith in humanity restored!

I agree! :)
This is awesome!
Great initiative, to bring peoples of different communities together.
Great initiative! Brilliant idea! Congratulations! And I hope that this program will expand to reach more people who surely loved participating in this program must either already behind impressive results.
*A wise use of modern technology!*
Both parties benefit here by forging friendships.
This program should be expanded to retirement homes all around the world. What an incredible opportunity for students learning English and seniors, too.
Such a brilliant use of technology! I know the conversations are on a private channel, but if you can share more, we would love to see!

I'm just in tears. What a wonderful idea! Old ppl have a lot of wisdom and love to share around the world. I'd to chat with them too.
This was beautiful. It's such a wonderful idea because many elderly people are lonely and would enjoy having someone to talk to.
This is beautiful. And it's amazing just how far technology has come and how far it will continue to go.

So did I...
yes you can, you are gay, so no problem
Cool manners, bro. I'm sad you were raised as an arrogant, intolerant and ignorant individual by your family. Grow up already.
SirKevinMartin unfortunately is this type of Brazilian which finishes with our image and reputação.please ignore , he does not represent my country .
Thiago Araujo Wow. You really said that, well, my bad but, you're nobody here.
I'm from Vietnam and I have been studying in the U.S for a year. This video makes me want to call my parents right away. Thank you.

Things get awkward later when one of the octogenarians says "You Mexicans sure are nice."
"Soooo...do you like tacos?"
ahahahahah
But they are Brazilians.....
Projeto genial!

I'm proud of being a CNA student. Amazing! I would love to join.
Ola Luan! Tchau.
