I'm glad Tyler is finally getting some recognition from you all...I been listening to him for years. He is one of my favorite artists. Just an outstanding singer songwriter and guitar picker. This is country not that tractor rap they play on the radio n tv! God loves you Tyler congrats bro. Who ever said you could raise you a family working ur tail off knee deep in coal!
Tyler could be the end of modern shitty country. He is full blooded Americana, working with John Prine and Jason Isbell. Essentially, he has the voice of smooth modern country, with the writing skills of a real musician.
Bless Tylers adorable heart. He held back, sounds like they all did, nationally televised and under the big lights...until the last verse @ 2:43 he threw some gas on it, he finally let loose on "turnin'" @ 3:06. Still great, they just dialed it back to more polished and perfection and no mistakes, but I've seen him let it rip in the entire song before. Tyler doing Tyler things like 3:06 is when it's epic.
Of course he performs the most "country" sounding song off the album. So much more to this guy's music!! His show at the Fox in Oakland earlier this year made my top 5 of the year
@@ragereynolds4374 I know, and I love this song. But when I Googled TC back in September to see if I wanted to work his show, if Country Squire had been the first song on UA-cam I would have thought "basic New Country - better than most, no thanks". Instead I heard House Fire followed by Whitehouse Road, immediately booked to work the show, and spent the next 3 hours listening to Tyler! There is something to his writing and singing that puts him above so many musicians today.
@@ericchase1799 Yeah, basic traditional country. I guess I just feel so starved from any newer traditional country artist that even if it's the most generic thing I'll listen to it and love it. I've found an assload of independent artists that are very traditional. TC is my favorite out of all of them tho bc his writing is just on a whole nother level. And hes just so authentic
I've heard this guy's name, but never his music until now. He sounds like a great young traditionalist, no wonder I haven't heard him on radio much. Hopefully that changes soon, he has an interesting sound that I can't wait to hear more of.
Fantastic! Tyler Childers connects to the audience with his lyrics and wins them over with pure talent and awesome band. I loved the concert in Spokane, WA. The new hillbilly Shakespeare.
For those unfamiliar with Tyler: This doesn't do a good job of encapsulating Tyler's art & flavor Look up "Nose to the Grindstone" That will make you legit misty eyed, belts out the feels and stands the hairs up on your neck
For most of those unfamiliar, they would probably prefer this because its music smoother and pleasing to non traditional fans ears. I love that stuff, but let then hear a little more of his softer stuff first
So proud of this guy! Awesome to see 50 views on youtube to this. Driving 7 hours to Athens ga when you were still playing out of a van. Eating good now biggin!!
I wouldn't bet on that. Armisen follows Tyler, it's probably a safe guess he recommended Tyler be booked for the show. From what I understand in the local chatter, Armisen was a regular tourist of the Portlandia bluegrass scene. It's been rolling here for several years because of outfits like Mississippi Studios, artists like Tyler and The Howlin' Brothers have serious cult followings in this hipster burg.
I'm honestly surprised they didn't censor the part about trapping foxes and tanning hides on this stupid ass liberal bullshit show. Also, love Tyler Childers, love Country Squire, and can't wait to see my dude in Whitefish, MT this summer. YEEEEEEEEEET
It is and it isn't? He hasn't been taking the Food Stamps into the studio with him to record, so the albums are just Tyler Childers, so that's how they're pushing it on TV and ads and stuff. But as you can plainly see, the Food Stamps are there, and they don't look too upset about it. I wish he'd record with 'em though. Honestly, I like the sound better.
Most contry sounds the same. Except someone one time I heard bust a rap verse in the middle of his song. I never found out who he was. But it was a different and nice
You're referring to "bro country" with the raps and stuff. That crap sucks. It's the majority of what's on the radio. Real country music fans hate it. This here is actual country music and his music does not sound the same, AT ALL. His catalog is epic🙌
Songwriter and performer are 2 differ things how many songs do u think DAC wrote and gets no credit for, true country, camo and snuff don't make u country,
The world needs more Tyler Childers.
Nah, we just need this one.
No we just need singers that actually know how to sing country most of the stuff today is pop
Eww no
Best lyric anyone has written in awhile.
“Spending my nights in a bar room lord/ turning them songs into 2x4’s”
A local Kentucky boy done great. Been following him for years. So happy for him!
Out here saving country Music
They actually played real country music on TV about time, awesome Tyler the best in the world!
Here I am listening to country music in Honduras.
Makes me so happy to see him on a show like this. Guy is a phenomenal talent and a real country music artist. One of my favourites!
they need to put the bass player in the front of the stage.. hes killin it
Josh Shearer Saw him Friday Night in DC. The man doesn’t stop bobbing his head the whole 2 hr show.
Was about to say, I’ve seen him at 3 shows and he never stops the head bobbing lol
speaking as a bass player, he's one of the best in the business.
Tyler can boogie. He just gets shy when he's in front of the electric eye.
Craig has nice hair

Shitty country is still being mass produced. Childers is in a different sub genre, or even his own.
Just wating for a country Kurt cobain

Check out "Peace of Mind" by Tyler. Perfect song about modern working class and reminds me of so many people I know at home in WV.
I love him!! So talented. He doesn’t sing a bad song.
He played at my birthday about 12 years ago. He was 21. So proud of him!
