Does anyone else notice how genuinely happy Tyler looks now that he's sober ? Vs his older live videos , he actually looked like he was living in "purgatory" lol. Right on Tyler !!!
To be honest I think he looks a lot skinnier now than he was then. Could’ve went from pills and coke to chasing the dragon. Let’s hope not, hard to come back once you catch the dragon by the tail.
Tyler has been sober over 2 years now. As someone that's in recovery myself, I am extremely happy that he has found recovery and I do believe he seems much happier. Than the early stuff. Don't get me wrong I used to be right there singing along the Whitehouse Road with the rest of them but I have the utmost respect for him, his music has help me get to where I am today.
Props to his sobriety. I'm going on 13 years myself. When you are drunk/high you never think that you can ever be sober. You are scared it will change you. As a junkie artist, I was scared I wouldn't be creative anymore without being high. God was I wrong. I'm sure he went through that thought too. You 'think' the drugs/drinking are needed to produce your art. And it isn't. Life is so much better sober. It wasn't easy. But I did it. He did it. Anyone can do it.
this man has single-handedly saved my life. I'm positive you cant write music like this without speaking to god himself. when i listen to Tyler, my soul feels free. thank you.
Truly don't mean to rain on your parade, but Tyler Childers didn't write this song. A gentleman names J.W. Vaughn did back in the late 40's. It's been recorded by a dozen different artists over the decades, most famously by Hank Williams, Sr. Tyler does do a fantastic job singing it, though. I love to listen to him.
I honestly believe he’s the best musical artist of all time, dude has helped me through the toughest times in my life hard to put into words how his music makes me feel I’m sure many others would say the same lol
Just attended their show last Thursday. On the how his music makes you feel. Damn I couldn't agree more. Just so Fn good. So much emotion I felt. Especially when he played one of my absolute favs to open "Shake The Frost" Awesome Performance. It was really cool to see all the Tyler Childers and the Foodstamps fans invade Cal Berkely Greek Theatre.
I'm Mexican I have never really gotten into country music because I felt it wasn't all that inclusive or I just could not relate. I was hearing the scandal about Tyler's video. So I went to go see what the big deal was. I was struck by his singing and his band. I was hooked a few songs in. At first, I couldn't place it, didn't know why I liked this so much. But I get it. Mariachi music is for everyone to enjoy, it is supposed to bring joy, sadness fun, all the emotions. This man and his musicians make me feel the same when I hear his lyrics, voice and band. Just so talented and the music is fantastic. I wonder if he will be coming to the west coast?
I love the instrumentation of mexican music myself and how emotive many of the genres are thru the singing and playing as well. Good country like Tyler, Sturgill, Colter Wall, Waylon, Keith Whitley, etc the classics, everything except radio country shares this same raw human energy
My dads been gone now for two years. He was born and raised in Pike County Kentucky- near Virgie Kentucky to be exact. I will always remember riding in his pick up trucks, windows down and an 8 track blaring through KMart speakers bluegrass music. Listening to Tyler Childers makes me feel closer to my dad. Thank you Tyler for your words! The stories your songs tell.
Tyler's ability to write songs that some how sound familiar like you've heard them before, to me hasn't been done since shotgun Willie, I can't get enough , if he played a show every weekend I'd go
Tyler, please release a live album/CD, including these two songs and 'Help Me Make It through the Night', which I heard on a compilation CD. I own all your music and such a release immediately. There is a younger generation worthy of Hank and all those who've gone before us...

I've been a Tyler Childers fan since back before he even played Red Barn Radio, and I love Tyler....but can we talk about his band? I know most of them are the original food stamps but geez, they are solid. One if the, if not the tightest band I've ever heard. They all know their Qs and parts so fluidly it's insane.
Saw him last night opening for The Rolling Stones, he did a hard southern rock version of the old country church that is now literally my absolute favorite song
If Mark Twain (Sam Clemens) returned…this would be his favorite Singer/Song Writer and Band. He would also surely wonder how close of kin he and Tyler are…This Band is the Best.

KENTUCKY country music!!! It just sings and rings better!
He played for my birthday party 12 years ago. He was 21 I think. Just him and a guitar and a friend on banjo/guitar. All they needed!

Best Band in Country Music as of Oct 2022, in my opinion.
