Hey, so when I first filmed this, the world was uh. normal? mostly? y'know, as the earth turns. At the time of uploading, however, we're in the middle of a pandemic. It seems out-of-touch to avoid saying anything about that. I have all of the equipment I mentioned linked in the description, but since everyone is working from home or taking classes online, a lot of things such as webcams are either jacked way up in price or sold out. But if you're stuck at home and looking for something to do, maybe you already have the supplies needed to begin streaming! Or if not, you can check out some of the artists currently streaming!
This is so helpful. I want to start streaming some of my traditional art. I don’t see myself doing it professionally but more like a hobby and just having fun with it but I was so lost on what basic equipment I needed cause I’m a noob with streaming and trying to use twitch.
I'm looking into doing some twitch streaming just as a hobby. This is really helpful. It's so funny that all the twitch content out there (twitch streaming for beginners) is all about making money. If I do end up doing it I expect to get < 10 or 0 viewers. And thats fine with me XD
It's neat seeing behind the scenes stuff like this. Is that a specialized stand that your downward-facing C922 is on? And I guess you probably have a setting to flip the image 180 so the art doesn't look upside down to us. I guess it kind of surprised me how far back the webcam is on your desk; I always thought you'd be hitting your head on the camera a lot before I could see the setup from thing angle.
The stand my C922 is on is just a cheap table "monopod" from amazon. It's linked in the description under "webcam mount" And yeah, the image is flipped 180 in OBS so it's not upside-down. =] I do get my head in the frame sometimes, particularly if I'm working on a detail and I need to be up close for more precision. But the way the camera is set far back and angled slightly forward, it avoids that enough.
The webcam? Yeah. When I bought it, it was $50. But with all the telecommuting and such going on right now, costs have skyrocketed. For a short while I used my phone to stream using an app called IP Webcam. It can display in OBS as a browser source, so you can stream almost like the setup I have here. I was going to make an instructional video on it (I still might, if people are interested) but sometimes it became very laggy and I wasn't happy with the quality of the stream. But if you don't have a webcam, you could use your phone as a camera with IP Webcam.

i think this is the most efficient setup ever
It's definitely a bit crazy with wires going to two different desks. Haha
Thanks for this video, been looking for what to get to stream traditional art. A lot of art streamers don't link their gear so this is amazing
You're welcome! 😄

Really helpful video, thank you
Yes that is a 5 Pound counterweight just got me hard 😂 You are like me when it comes to improv.
Love the video

@@madameberry Ah, neat, thanks
So real quick question what category would I use on twitch for streaming art?
Twitch has an Art category.
Is the C922 better than the StreamCam?
I've never used a StreamCam so idk. I recommend looking up reviews.
Just sucks that it costs $200

@@madameberry yeah the webcam. I didn't know you could used your phone. I'll check that app out.
