@@Dani_1012 it's more on the slow burn side. but it's one of my comfort films. it has a darker theme while having bright cinematography. really great characters. Anya taylor joy is in as well, and she's great too.
@@shy6083 I'll try it then. I've had it on and off my watch list for years, added it because I like Anya but wasn't sure if I should watch it as the story seemed like a hit or miss for me, guess I'll take a look at it now

It's easy to see why she's on so many shows lately, she's so dynamic and a delight to listen to!
I don't hate her character. Alicent is very layered and just like what they did to Viserys, the show really fleshed out her character so much more. I never understood why other book readers came to the show with a massive hate on Alicent when I've read the books too and understood it to be more of a record of history so we didn't really get an in-depth look at Alicent's behavior and motivations, so even when I read the books a long time ago I never got the sense that she was a villain. Olivia and Emily did such a great job with Alicent. Easily the best character in HoTD after Viserys maybe.

I'm reading the book after having watched the show and even now I truly don't understand the people who say her character has been diminished and she lacks bitchy queen autonomy 😂 She's got so much depth to her, whereas in the book at the point where S1 ends, she's still quite one-dimensional. So many people hate her character, but I guess they're dismissing Alicent's history and the way she's been influenced by her father and whatnot.

Alicent was my favourite character (show). She had a lot of conflict within her, did some questionable things, but her genuine love and care really made her stand out too. I liked how she seemed to have some sense of duty or responsibility, even as she struggled with her personal situation. And how she actually tried pretty hard to hold back some of the more sinister people that surrounds her (like her guard, damn I hated that guy by the end)
I think people just assume they're supposed to automatically root for New Daenerys
Olivia's acting is GOATED. Im glad i was introduced to her through this show WOW just WOW!!! All Hail My Queen!!
I knew Olivia first, from Bates Motel where she did an outstanding acting job. I was so glad to see her as older Alicent, I screamed 😅. She’s great !

This is such a good interview!! I loved hearing how they did rehearsals and even went to act out some of the young Alicent/Rhaenyra scenes to build that bond. Truly fascinating. Olivia Cooke just seems like a gem of a person.

I adore Olivia! She absolutely grabbed me as Emma on Bates Motel and never disappointed me! When I heard she was gonna be on the prequel to the Game Of Thrones, I was so excited and happy for her. It was almost like getting to see a friend that you haven't heard from in a long time! She is CRUSHING it now as Allicent and I can't wait to see where this show goes following what happened at the end of Episode 9! Great job Olivia!
Such a great podcast to watch and listen to and I just loooove how easygoing Olivia is and how she enjoys talking about her experience, it's really so fun to listen to. I really hope both Olivia and Emma get the recognition they deserve, they really were incredible on HotD!!

Great procast episode l seriously love olivia cooke! She so down to earth, and such a fantastic actress her portray of allicent Hightower's is fantastic. I'm glad to see her getting more love ,and recognition for her acting!♥️
Such an amazing character and person, she portrays the queen so good and in a way that makes me think she’s real, I think in season two she we’ll become more like cersi and i caan’t wait to see her
She’s so loveable and Lena Headey almost stayed out of the perception of “goofy loveable actress” she stayed known as a wonderful and fun person but you never quite saw her vulnerable too much in media, and I think that helped with the building of Cersei , and now here with Alicent many who have and have not read the books are seeing this goofy and loveable side of Olivia and it’s almost helping her own character be seen as having a certain duality, she IS loved and hated by many. Whereas Cersei was tragically loved and woefully hated by many. It’s a much different dynamic and I’m thrilled to see more of R.R. Martin’s QUEENS be fleshed out more.

I don't hate her. She has her reasons for why she does what she does but she is a massive hypocrite and a huge pawn for others while she thinks she is in more control than she is. Definitely an interesting character.
She comes across so humble and down to earth and her character as alicent is amazing I thought I would not like her from the books but she is my favourite character I’m kinda team green sorry everyone

And her answer was beautiful because I think most audience members agree that we’d assume they maybe practiced mannerisms around each other or even spoke about the character together to better portray the same person on the show, but the way she explained that they had overlapping schedules and it wouldn’t have been convenient but the casting directors just did their job wonderfully. I love that!! Give them the credit yes!!! They worked so hard and it shows!
And yes it’s a huge compliment to both actresses playing Alicent.
They're both so talented. Emily played Alicent with her subtle anger and rage as a teenager who was stolen of her teenage years. Olivia played Alicent with her drive and determination as a mother who would do anything for her children.

Decided to watch; Me and Earl and the Dying Girl (2015) after, hearing Liv state no one has seen her other films. Funny and teary-eyed film with great acting from Liv and her co-stars. One to watch with a box of tissues for sure.

My favorite part & the reason I fell in love with #OliviaCooke was her role in an amazing film called #TheSignal (2014) .
This film is so underrated, and without her, is far from thr importance of what it is in my heart.
If you have not seen it please do! It's bonkers & weird, strange, dark, mysterious, painful & beautiful sci-fi drama that has never been equaled.
At that time (2014) It was deeply moving & inspirational and the complicated love story that unfolds left me hoping for a follow up that we never got.
It is easily where Olivia Cooke became for more than just a beautiful & heartbreaking part in a misunderstood film that always kept me looking for her in any film I could find.
