  • This walk takes in the northern Munros in Glen Affric, An Socach, Mullach na Dheiragain and Sgurr nan Ceathreamhnan. These remote top present a challenge when attempting them in one day. Normally, the majority of walkers will spend a night at the Youth Hostel and complete the loop for there.
A great day with stunning weather......

Another fine video. I remember walking over to Altbeithe Hostel back in the mid 80s one winter. They used to leave the hostel unlocked in the closed months as an emergency shelter. I also stayed at the hostel another time and did those same hills from there. Thanks for sharing.

Fantastic video and I was able to piece together my demise! I don't think you can fully appreciate how big the Mullardoch/Affric ranges are until you are on them. I'm just back from completing 6 of the munros, 4 northern mullardoch ones, descent and re-ascent to Mullach na Dheiragain and Sgurr na Ceathreamhnan. It was 2230, clear all day just for the cloud to drop over the ridge and i was at the final ascent for SNC, 300m just about ran up it in 20 minutes. Summit for around 11pm, In my haste/ no visibility I missed the shoulder cut off you took and pushed further on, before a horrible descent in darkness which I can now see what route I took with your footage. After a hairy descent I rolled into the bothy at 0230, fell asleep in the hallway as I did not want to wake everyone up. What a day. The next day I gave the other 6 Munros a miss although I still had the 20km walk down glen affric, ascent up no mans land to about 900m then a descent back into mullardoch dam, very relieved to be back at car. Had my fill and taking a rest, bagged 33 in 3 weeks, although I'm thinking of heading back out for more.....

Thanks again for a fresh look at these hills. Sgurr nan Ceathreamhnan and An Socach I did with friends one New Year from Camban bothy. We walked in from the Clunie Inn, with one friend carrying a pack of coal on top of his rucksack. Later we joined the rest of Edinburgh MC students at Glen Licht house for the New Year celebrations. On New Years day we did the Ben Attow penance, straight up across the river. On returning to the Clunie Inn the car was a big white heap in the corner of the car park, buried under snow. I really enjoy your videos. Long may you be able to send them to us.
