@@isaacm2374 I didn't call esports a motorsport category, but a professional motorsport competition, yes; you don't need the "vroomvroom" for it to be motorsport racing, you just need the racing driving aspect skillset applied in motordynamics. It is ridiculous to be obtuse and not keep up with something that has been part of most big categories for years and years as a data gathering, car development and driver skill training tool that has now advanced into a professional competitive sport more accessible to the masses. Takes an enourmous amount of hours and dedication to be able to be somewhat competitive. Leclerc, Norris, Russel and even Alonso do simracing but not professionally. You see them streaming and playing for fun, and although Norris is part of a team, but they don't take part in world championships.
I always wondered if sim racing like this when you are a professional driver, can lead to bad habits or even bad techniques. I get that it can be incredibly realistic & with the best equipment even better, but surely you can do things you can't in a real car.
I think Iracing teaches more good habits than bad habits, max has been racing in Iracing for a few years now and I havent seen it affect his f1 racing in anyway negatively, if anything it seems racing in Iracing made him a better, more ruthless but calculated wheel to wheel racer too.
you cant do much in the way of accelerating early unless you're in last since you're not allowed to overtake or fall back behind the car behind you. when you have space to fall behind and do what max did.
We all wonder but in the end there is no other sim with even close as many professional racing drivers. Across all categories (Open Wheelers, GT, LMP) for every 100 professionals on iRacing, all other sims combined have about 1 professional racing. I personally don't compete on iRacing anymore since 4 years, but there must be something about it that keeps the Pros there...
It was annoying me that Alex Dunn wasn't learning from the corners max was gaining on him, it should be instinct to work that out and do something different
Man, what a thing to say if he’s second in leading the best group of cars in this field. Sometimes it’s not just only driver related. Setup and strategy play a big role too. Identical lines in non identical cars will end in very non-identical performance.
@@Tristan.R.J.M it’s true but a lot of it is also driver related, he was conservative on a few corners, turn 2 for example, he just wasnt carrying speed into the corner like max was, I don’t think that’s setup, could be but could also be the guy not realising quite what the car can do and what line to take, but you are right tho
its very well could be a car setup thing, which he couldn't have changed after the race started. i know max and team redline spend days perfecting their setup before races.
@@fruitygranulizer540 Yeah but so do the other drivers, everyone taking part in this will have practiced and spent a lot of time working on setup, granted max has money to hire the best people to help him, but even the most optimal setup won’t help a sub optimal driver Setup is just thing that accommodates characteristics of the track and driver, but it’s mostly the driver that takes advantage of it and performs. You can still perfect racing lines and carry decent speed with almost no setup at all, it’s mostly about how you adapt to the setup and carry optimal speed around it I think Dunn wasn’t optimising certain corners basically, I think max has a particular technique where he finds the very edge of grip of every corner in practice and then with that knowledge and confidence takes the widest smoothest line possible through most corners, maximising the track and curbs perfectly, most drivers are too scared to do this because it’s hard and it’s risky, max can do this every lap over and over again

yet I met A. Gionanazzi in a race today, was racing a few GT real drivers too, and finally, here we could see Verstappen in action. @@raga4822struck a nerve a little there? lol You know, iRacing doesn’t need to look like a PS1 game to be the best simulator in mass usage. ACC isn’t a lesser sim because it targeted higher graphical fidelity. The decision is more of a business one. Major graphics overhauls are not cheap and would it exclude a significant portion of paying member base if the minimum system requirements increased? An iRacing 2 at this point would be divisive and controversial. Some players can make iRacing look much better in many areas but choose not to so they don’t take the hit to performance. In other words the game doesn’t need to look like GT7/FM to be the best racing sim either. I do think PS1 graphics is a bit harsh. I thought they looked at least like PS2 graphics. 😉
The thing i HATE about max the most, is the way he drives down the outside and then cuts straight to the apex and then the exit curb.. Where is Dunne meant to go??? He takes this skill into the real thing and does it time and time again. Relying on the other car not to hit you is not fair racing.
But it's within the rule. That's the thing, he's driving it to the limit even in the rule book, sometimes it looks grey but still making it technically legal. I think if they change the rule he would adapt to it also. He is one of the most adaptable driver ever, i mean from real f1 to simcar and he's still good.

Did actually somebody recognize, that the Avatar of MaxVerstappen is a picture of LewisHamilton?💡
that was just his mates trolling
I always wondered if sim racing like this when you are a professional driver, can lead to bad habits or even bad techniques. I get that it can be incredibly realistic & with the best equipment even better, but surely you can do things you can't in a real car.
I think Iracing teaches more good habits than bad habits, max has been racing in Iracing for a few years now and I havent seen it affect his f1 racing in anyway negatively, if anything it seems racing in Iracing made him a better, more ruthless but calculated wheel to wheel racer too.
Huh, so thats why they say its lonely up there
Max Pinched Alex Dunne into that wall, greeasy
He had the racing line, Alex got scared and turned in too much and hit the wall,
That's just racing
Embarrassing start from most of the grid, must be their first race surely 🙃
you cant do much in the way of accelerating early unless you're in last since you're not allowed to overtake or fall back behind the car behind you. when you have space to fall behind and do what max did.
Imagine a someone of that calibre playing a sim with one of the worst tire physics!
Not a jumped start?
Nah, he timed it perfectly. Race starts at 0.00 and he didn't passed anyone before going green.
Pic of Hamilton bro 💀💀💀
i went from 5th to first in my 5th every online race, so i must be as good as Max right 🤣
It was annoying me that Alex Dunn wasn't learning from the corners max was gaining on him, it should be instinct to work that out and do something different
@@fruitygranulizer540 Yeah but so do the other drivers, everyone taking part in this will have practiced and spent a lot of time working on setup, granted max has money to hire the best people to help him, but even the most optimal setup won’t help a sub optimal driver
Setup is just thing that accommodates characteristics of the track and driver, but it’s mostly the driver that takes advantage of it and performs. You can still perfect racing lines and carry decent speed with almost no setup at all, it’s mostly about how you adapt to the setup and carry optimal speed around it
I think Dunn wasn’t optimising certain corners basically, I think max has a particular technique where he finds the very edge of grip of every corner in practice and then with that knowledge and confidence takes the widest smoothest line possible through most corners, maximising the track and curbs perfectly, most drivers are too scared to do this because it’s hard and it’s risky, max can do this every lap over and over again
Is this the real Max Verstappen. If not he drives a lot like him
Is the real one
can we get rid of the lewis picture somehow?
where do you get these QoL UI mods?
Other is human??
yes
How is he not given a penalty for that start? Haha
Because lights where green. Brilliant start 😂
When lights are green, lights are green
@@FredbullGamingWhere do you see the lights? Or anything indicating that the race has started? I been watching the start multiple times, still have no idea, other than the race clock. Which, if you would only consider the clock, it does seem like he jumpstarted.
@@revirdkcalb you dont see the green light because it s not verstappen streaming. But max do see the lights
@@FredbullGaming But I mean, how can we then be sure he didn't jump start? Or do you get immediately penalized if you do (and he didn't, so that's how we know)?
Max was one of my very best students.
Is he drives Alex to the wall?
Hmm. Looks like it but there was no very distinct visual cue that they made contact. Would be good to see more angles of what happened.
Do these people even know who theyre racing? Who he is?
Yes they know
the esports drivers are more involved in racing than any fan every will be, no shit they know who max verstappen is
Great drive but the start etiquette was poor. Hanging back and then accelerating to get a jump on the guys in front is a massive no no
It's technically legal
That start is illegal under iracings starting rules, and is cheesy imo but still a great race.
someone said : They probably assumed the race started when their group crossed the start/finish line and not when the GTP cars crossed the line.
He overtook no one before the 00:00 clock came (start race). He simply sped up earlier, which is allowed. You just can’t overtake anyone, you bet that he read the rules, most likely more than most iRacing players since he is one of a handful of drivers with almost 10k irating
If the software were up to date (iRacing's engine is over twenty years old), it would incorporate basic penalties into the race start.
Looks like he spun out Alex dunne at 31:56
Usual from crashstappen when he's in a battle on track
Looked like no contact. Need replays to check more.
playstation 1 graphics 😄
yet I met A. Gionanazzi in a race today, was racing a few GT real drivers too, and finally, here we could see Verstappen in action. Why they choose iRacing? :)
It's the best racing simulator at the market and PS1 graphics doesnt change the fact :)
You may go play Forza with better graphics of course, cornering your VW Passat at 300km/h with no problem.
@@raga4822struck a nerve a little there? lol
You know, iRacing doesn’t need to look like a PS1 game to be the best simulator in mass usage.
The graphics on this game it's horrible 😅😅😅😅
ps3 graphics
Before I watch this, just checking for authenticity ,
does he sulk and dive bomb a corner to push someone off the truck and then try to keep the position?
The only thing I see it's an unfair start, but this is what people do on this kind of game.... shame... but good driving anyway...
Its legal. Geez learn the rules. He didn’t pass anyone before 0.00 Stop complaining. Watch more races.
@31.58 ALEX DUNNE HAD THE INSIDE LINE AND SHOULD HAVE ATTACKED BUT HE LET HIS FOOT OFF THE GAS.... MEANWHILE VERSTAPPEN HAD THE OUTSIDE LINE AND DIDNT THINK TWICE TO TAKE ALL OF THE ROAD AND APEX INTO THE CORNER... CANT HELP THINK THAT ALEX INTNTIONALLY LET HIS FOOT OFF BECAUSE HE KNEW VERSTAPPEN WOULD TAKE THEM BOTH OUT LOL
He’s off racing a good 1.5 seconds before it starts , I’d say he jumped the start .
did he pass anyone before the light went out? its a rolling start totally legal
@@dead_reduxhe’s past two cars by 1 second of the race , he’s got an advantage by that 1.5 second acceleration before the race starts so yes .
