    I must say, I do chuckle a little bit watching your videos and hearing how much "Rust," is mentioned. Only because I live in Ca, and it makes me appreciate it it more and more when people from outside of Ca complain about how crappy Ca is. One thing we do not immediately look for when buying a used car in Ca is "Rust."

    Just bought a 2006 Yukon XL 200K miles. Been looking at videos for maintenance and restoration ideas for some common issues with these vehicles. Came across your video series for Tahiti and have watched about 10 videos so far. Really like the series and the content your made with it so far, plan to keep watching more of the Tahiti vids. Thanks,

    Awe, that note was such a classy touch. I loved my 2003gmc Yukon 4x4, and because there was an electrical issue that would stop the vehicle from turning over, I had to trade it in. Worst decision I ever made. It has been 10 years and I cannot take it anymore, I will be purchasing a 2004 Yukon XL 4x4 and will be changing out seats and leveling it out possibly a 3 inch lift, 2in spacers and fatter rubber all around. I will incorporate the wireless charger you recommend and possibly even Android auto 10" display/cd/mp3/Bluetooth....but thanks for the great videos.

    Your videos are inspiring me to get out and work on my 'beater' truck. A '78 Chevy C10. They're also inspiring me to make a video series on the work I'm doing to it. My truck is WAY rougher than your "Tahiti" so it could take several years to complete. It runs really good after the work I've done on the engine but it still needs lots of cosmetic fixes. Keep up the good work.

    Don't forget to split the transfer case open and do the upgrade for pump rub. Also replace the heater hose quick connectors. Use gm ones and avoid the garbage dorman ones. I own an 06 Yukon with the 5.3 and 4.10 gears 4x4 and it has taken real good care of me.

    I bought a 2003 C/1500 Tahoe in March with 287,000 for $2700.4.8 LS. Runs OK, but mileage is just over 13/mpg. Worst gripe is AFU 8-Way driver's master switch. Also tells me DOOR IS AJAR when it ain't. A/C is down, and I'm in Tucson in summer. Passenger window has to be energized from local switch. Master won't control it. Sometimes, rear passenger window comes down on its own. Got it because my mechanic retired and told me get a truck built in this century. But mainly I'm running my '71 GMC Jimmy K/1500 or my '68 Chevy C/10 Stepside to get parts for the 'Hoe.

    Not too long ago I picked up a tahoe as well, got mine with 201k and now it has 211k. I live in Northern PA so rust is a big issue here, my tahoe is from Kansas where it spent its whole life so it’s nice underneath. I had the same mindset, high miles and no rust is much better than low miles and rotted out. So I’ll definitely be watching this series as I have the same problem with the trans cooler lines lol. Subbed!

    To answer your question, yes it is tweaked a little bit! I've seen it like that and if you look closely you'll see that the pan hard bar and bushing are bent! I've only seen that happen from an improper tow! They put the hook around the rear pan hard bar and axle to put it up onto the roll off!

    Heads up, the stepper motors in the cluster assembly are prone to go bad. I have a 04, found a company in jacksonville florida thatll replace them. Found them on ebay, theyll request all the information mileage, hours, etc.... and theyll ship you a new one and you send in your old one. Want to say that it was around $200, plus a core charge that got refunded after they recieved the old one. Just a heads up man!

    Man you’re fucking brave! I wouldn’t ever trust “Ramps” with that kind of weight. Honestly I don’t ever trust them alone! Do yourself a favor and throw a couple of jack stands under it to catch the truck if they were to collapse while you’re under there! Ramps are famous for failing! Just trying to be helpful, be careful bro!

    • @lsxmatt
      @lsxmatt  5 років тому +1

      My jacks a low profile so It doesn’t get high enough to get jack stands under it. I have to pick up a set of rhino ramps!

    • @teamgmotorsports
      @teamgmotorsports 5 років тому

      LsxMatt You could still use the ramps to get it in the air, my suggestion is just to stick a couple of jackstands under each side once it’s already up there to keep her from falling on you if the ramps were to collapse!
      Even using rhino ramps doesn’t matter, they’re still really not safe!
      If you’re going to go buy anything my suggestion would be, and I do own these things, go by the yellow Daytona 3 ton yellow jack at Harbor freight. And if you have a northern tool supply anywhere near you or if you want to order them get their brand of jackstands with a little pin that you can put through the top big enough that will support the weight of the truck.
      I have an 08 Tahoe that I’ve been using that Jack and jackstands on for couple for years now, both are reliable and both made of thick heavy gauge metal and completely safe and honestly the best way to go.
      Plus you can use them to get your Camaro extra high in the air if you want to like say to do a transmission job it’s nice to have the extra room underneath as I know from experience with my 98 Camaro.

    • @lsxmatt
      @lsxmatt  5 років тому +1

      LsxMatt this is the set up I use, and is proven safe and effective with my 08 Tahoe, and awesome for transmission work with my 98 Camaro.
      I’ve been through many jacks, and jack stands over the years, and these are by FAR the best as far as safety and budget goes. You truly do get the best of both worlds with these things!
      Here are some links to the set up I use.
