Hands down one of the best sounding locos on todays railways
For someone who lives all the way down in Australia, 10/10 for superb footage of what has probably become my favourite British diesel loco. (I watch all the films I can). The 37 delivers the sort of raw engine sound, with accompanying smoke that makes rail power so stirring to watch. Great video. Thank you.
Thank's for the comment..Take care Warren
This video is pure gold please never delete it
Oh yeah this is what we all like to hear, nothing held back & full blooded raw from those magnificent engines!
The class 37's are my favourite loco's of all time, that exhaust sound & the turbo whistle is absolutely classic. Pity this video shows only 2 of them.
Beautiful livery on the 37403.
As are so many on our fabulous railways.
May the class 37's hold their own in years to come :-)
Easily one of the best locomotives ever built. Love them
The noise that makes when pulling away it’s just fantastic. Delwick is a noise of its own.
Miss this soundtrack honestly, rode these almost daily back in 2017/18 going between Yarmouth and Norwich. Wasn't long before I was timing my trips back home from Norwich to get on the 37 instead of the 2 car DMU.
Great video! Very sharp and clear images. Thumbs up.
Thank You Dirk
Oh FFS.... what a lovely video with a gorgeous soundtrack throughout. Thank you for sharing this 👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks for the comment Andy..
Cheers Warren
Great HD footage of these beauties. Lovely sound too. Much appreciated!
Excellent video's well done really enjoyed
Cheers Graham..
That face mask on the box man first clip is a beast!
gf37419 didn't see him at the time..made me chuckle when I played it back...
Absolutely brilliant machine. Ahead of its time
Great quality video, fabulous subject matter. It’s a shame we don’t get on passenger duties these down on the sussex coast instead of the noddy trains.
Lovely locomotives
Very enjoyable video with a good mix of locations, great stuff !
Diesel man mike Thanks for the comments Mike
Cheers Warren
I used to live in a house that had the Rumney line running directly behind it, the sounds of these loco's struggling up the hill was a regular event
How pants it would be to go on a DMU after seeing these beautiful locomotives.
Quite Rite...
Well, britains railways will be electrified, so probably an emu if the line gets 3rd rail or overhead, but it will be sad because, these locos won't run in passenger use, because the 67s pull the British Pullman and sometimes class 66s, 37s will only be usage for freight and test trains, but then again there is a 37 that still pulls a special train, hopefully it doesn't get replaced
great class 37 video.
ZFRANK59 Thanks ZFRANK59
Are these common in brundal and Norfolk as I am going in 3 days?
That guy at 25 min made me laugh. "Where did they drag those old things up from?"
moxx064 made me chuckle as well..
may be old, but they work.
Think the class 37's are a superb design. I am wondering why there are 2 loco's for only 3 carriages and both engines are running. seems a massive waste of fuel [ im not clued up on trains ]
I’d agree
Two locos in case the lead one fails as most trains are now DMUs and cannot couple to them.
@@markchadfield8061 Thanks for the info. Do both engines have to be running ? Could 1 one engine not be put in neutral and towed ?
Thanks for the video! So are these locos still on use in anyway in Britain / 2020? Greets from Finland!
Thanks Sami
Unfortunately class 37's don't do as much as they did a few years ago..the odd test train duties at the mo..
Thanks Warren
@@desdemona77 Thanks. Have a great summer of 2020!
@@Finsami71 and Yourself mate :)
The guy must be in a rush over the bridge to catch another 37 the other way
Nice video!
HSTHoward Thanks Howard
Cheers Warren
They are class 37s, not 37's. No apostrophe needed!
Doesn’t 403 sound nice? I’ve found a video blog of her having the engine replaced at Bo’ness....
smiffy1071 sweet as a nut 403 i'snt she..
Love that chugging idle and it sounds off beat too
Never hear a loco load up like that before
Are these Electric powered with diesel generators?
Blame USA Diesel engines coupled to a main and auxiliary generator that supplies bogie mounted traction motors, so diesel electric.
Do ETH 37/4s have an alternator instead of a generator?
nice vids, who is that clown signalman then at 1min 48sec?!
slipperyrails haha..He just appeared..
You do not require an apostrophe between the 7 and the s of 37s. Apostrophes are needed only for the possessive case as in " the class 37's livery" or to indicate an omission. This was not the case in the title of the video and it irritated me so much I missed good clips of the class 37s!
Hi isobel
Thank you for your comment and hope your operation went ok...
My take on it is...please don't get irritated on such mundane issues..
Life is short enough as it is
Take care...
1:3 lol that guy has the anonymous mask on his face
