    It would be hard to express how much I appreciate you showing that sometimes, it doesn’t work out, the 1st, 2nd, 3rd…. You know what I am saying. It takes trial and error sometimes and you have to be ok with failing if you want to get great results sometimes. I get frustrated when I have to keep trying sometimes, but when I get it, that thrill, or your squeak, is all worth it! My failures make me better each time. Different products work different ways. As they say, try, try, and try again. Don’t give up when your results aren’t as stellar as you want them to be. Keep going, and they will be. We ALL have failures!

    Hi, Ms. Delonda it's me again. lol
    Just wanted to say you are such a wonderful person. I have to tell you after I seen the nome videos with the gray shirt, I myself begin to test shirts that I had with the DTF as well.
    It's funny how they show dark colors on the package and state that it's for dark colors but it's not all true because I tested shirts as well. I figured maybe they meant to say they have a different powder for dark shirts, who knows. Lol
    anyhow I tested various colors and yes gray does really good, yellow, more than likely white for sure and I also tested a like forest green and it wasn't too bad but the black and purple are tough materials. Anyhow just wanted to share this with you and the others, life is so much fun.
    😄

    I’m still trying to get it done. 😂
    I concluded that I used too much pressure on my white apron. Today, I took the apron into the bathroom and used some warm water and soft soap and washed the stuck paper off the apron. Now, the apron looks GREAT! With the exception of the ink splotches that are on the apron that I didn’t realize was on the back of the film… because the corners of the film had roll up while it was printing and ink got underneath the film. And this film is actually paper. I’ll have to put a image over the mistakes to hide them.
    I’m designing some autism awareness t-shirts this evening.
    Thank you for all you do.
    PS. Luda has his new squeaky toy and is really enjoying it. Squeaky all day long.

    Thank you for posting and pointing out that you used a white background to complete this process. I have seen so many videos of people having success with DTF but I have not had success yet. I have been trying it on white cotton shirts. I may try a black shirt with the white vinyl to see if I can get it to work though I really had hoped to be able to use it without vinyl behind it. Thank you for sharing.❤

    Well I was trying to figure this out earlier. I used Htvront sublimation vinyl and it was a fail to me twice. The image looked distressed like if I had too much pressure. Plus the vinyl had a wrinkled look too. Not sure what that was about. Anyways I seen someone else use regular white htv vinyl .. I will try that and see. I’m going to try to remove the vinyl and reuse the tshirts. Hopefully I can get the hang of it too.

    I ended up buying a storage container that was about same length as 13x19 paper and it's height about 6 or 7 inches.i have small plastic cup I leave in it holding powder. So after print I lay in down in box holding 1 side and use cup to just pour some and then grab other end of paper and let it rollover all couple times. Then I can let it roll off paper into cup what's left on there. Then what's in box tap on bottom to get powder to 1 corner and put back in cup. But it's great to keep in there and has a lid on box to keep anything out too.

    Hi Dolanda! New subscriber here! Thank you for showing us your experiments and easy step by step. Your tutorials are saving me so much time and headaches 😂. I was wondering how well did the white iron on vinyl and the dtf image color hold up after multiple washes? I was also wondering, do you think if, instead of an offset would it be easier to do a Cut option that way there's none of the white iron on vinyl showing around at all?

  • @jestcy4205

    Great tutorial.. my question is was it necessary to do the DTF when using the White htv? I did the same technique myself a few weeks ago and I was asking a question on a Cricut Facebook group and someone asked me why I was doing the dtf with the htv. They said it was basically an extra step that wasn’t necessary. When I was doing it this way my intention was for the texture that the DTF gives it. Could you please tell me why (you) decided to go this route with your shirt as far as what you were hoping to achieve by it? I’m just trying to figure out what the benefit is as opposed to not using it and just going with the white htv. (When you need white that is.)
    Thanks so much for doing all of those tests for us as well! It’s something I had wanted to do myself but just couldn’t find the time to so I really appreciate that. I know it took some time, and so much patience!!! ❤️

    • @CraftingwithDelonda
      @CraftingwithDelonda  Рік тому +1

      I used HTV only because it was the only was to do the DTF Hack on dark fabric. I have done the hack without using HTV, but just on a lighter fabric.

    • @jestcy4205
      @jestcy4205 Рік тому

      @@CraftingwithDelonda ok I think that must be why I did it that way then to begin with. 🤪 There are just so many different exceptions to remember. I have such a hard time trying to remember all of them at different times for some reason. I need some kind of a visual cheat sheet with everything on it to reference it all at the same time maybe.
      Getting back to my question what’s the difference between the Dtf/htv hack verse’s sublimating overtop of clear vinyl? I mean difference between the two as far as why you’d prefer one or the other?
      I think that’s what the lady in the Fb group was saying I could have just done instead of doing the dtf/htv. (On dark shirt.) Saying I could have just sublimated it over the clear/white htv. … I’m just confused on the difference of the two. Why take the extra step for the dtf/htv if sublimating it over the htv gives same results? Or maybe not?
      Thanks so much for such helpful info! ❤️

    • @CraftingwithDelonda
      @CraftingwithDelonda  Рік тому +2

      I guess because there are so many ways to do everything, it just comes down to a matter of personal preference. I prefer the sublimation HTV for dark fabric hack because it is just easier and it cost effective.

    Do you always do a second coat of powder? And can you do this on a 50/50 blend light colored shirt without vinyl?

      I only did a second coat because I was using the layer of vinyl and a black shirt. Remember, I tested multiple times before I got it to work. On a light shirt, the vinyl is unnecessary.
