Ben Ong of the World Economic Forum kicked off iNEMI’s series of webinars focusing on smart manufacturing topics. Ben’s presentation - The Global Smart Industry Readiness Index (SIRI) Initiative - defined the SIRI Initiative, its purpose and adoption of the index worldwide. He also gave examples of how SIRI is being used to support manufacturers in developing and strengthening their transformation strategies across multiple sites and/or at an organization-wide level.
SIRI comprises a suite of frameworks and tools to help manufacturers - regardless of size and industry - start, scale and sustain their manufacturing transformation journeys. It provides a consistent, structured framework for manufacturers to benchmark against their peers, pinpoint their strengths and weaknesses to better prioritize their development efforts and resources, and track their progress in digital transformation. The SIRI Initiative is:
    • Accelerating the adoption of SIRI as the internationally-recognized standard for Industry 4.0 benchmarking
    • Building the world’s largest datasets and benchmarks on the current state of manufacturing
    • Aiming to fundamentally reform the community’s approach to industrial transformation, from one that is ad-hoc and anecdote-based to one that relies on a standardized methodology supported by data
To date, SIRI has been adopted globally by more than 850 organizations across ~35 countries.
