I sided my house with red cedar and we love the smell. It is easy to stain and seal against the weather. A 2 foot over hang helps to keep the weather off the cedar for the most part. Thanks for making this video, the saw seems to work very well.
Its lovely having a break, but ypu always end up paying for it with a lot of catch up, but all work and no joy, well you know the rest. Beautiful boards coming off those logs, make my mouth water. Nothing like having the facilities to do your own lumber, your mate is very lucky, looks a very smart set up for him. Have fun.
That trim looks nice, Jason. Seeing you build something like that reminded me of when you built that fire pit a while back. I fully expected to see you unpeel some bark from that log, too. Bill
Your ceader peeled nice and easy but for the more stubborn bark i made myself a peeler with a cut off end of a old leaf spring it's got the perfect curve to it just put a 2' handle on it and go to town👍

I have been watching for a long while now, great job. I bought a LT40 because I watched your videos, they should give you some money for that! Im in WA, where do you get most of your logs from? I am looking for Cedar logs. Thanks
Congratulations on the mill! Most of my logs come to me through word of mouth. People call and ask if I’m interested in what they have. It takes a minute to build up that kind of network. I always see logs on Facebook Marketplace.
The wood costs like couple of thousand dollars. Nice way to cut your expenses. The other day I ran out of cash when I bought a house. I made doors and window furniture myself. It was like the same price as home repair. It was expensive repair.
That’s $10k more than I paid new. That being said, this mill paid for itself in 6 months and has generated enough revenue to buy three of them from just my UA-cam videos.
Great video Jason thumbs up.

You might be interested in my very first video on this channel. I milled cedar siding on a jig I built.
Wow, he really did the bark removal from the log the harder way. Thanks for making this video -- very special video.

Thank you! It’s nice to see my lumber being used on such a project.
Glad to see you back my friend. Love your channel.
Thank you!
Jason, I love the care you take to produce a quality product!
Thank you!
Your yard is certainly look tidier now than the previous video. Rayla is loving playing in the sawdust. Keep up with your work. Cheers
Thank you! I just bought a new machine to help with the cleanup. Stay tuned!
The shed is really looking good with your lumber.
Thank you!

Thank you, Bill. I actually ran into the couple that I built that fire pit for a couple weeks ago. They were still singing its praises.
You know exactly what you're doing. Fantastic.
Nice looking cedar logs, Steve from Nb Canada ps good job sawing them out
Thank you, Steve!
Great to be able to custom cut these jobs . This is where your saw shines . Its a very nice structure .
Thank you! I really enjoy making lumber that you often can’t buy. It really takes projects like this to the next level.
Another great job Jason..👍👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Thank you!
Awesome steam shack. I'm a little jealous 😅
Thanks, Archie! It’s going to be pretty cool. Or, hot I guess😂
I could almost smell it always enjoyed working with cedar
Nice job on the shed, mad but funny dog too 😅
Your pup is a goofball
That tail is always causing trouble😂
Great to see you back.
Thank you, sir! I bought a new machine I think you’ll like. Stay tuned!😉

Thank you, Steven!
0:26 Now I've got that song stuck in my head. "You spin me round".

Dog loves the sawdust
Yes she does!

Thank you!
Hard to beat Western Cedar.
If it were me,
I'd have milled two 8' logs.
I needed several 13’ boards though.
I needed several 13’ boards though.
That is a big mallet
At 09:45 you got yourself a nice sheet of veneer!
Unfortunately it never survives the drying process.
How would someone go about getting cedar logs shipped across the country? Do you think it’s possible?
Thanks
Patrick
I’m sure it’s possible but probably not cost effective. You’d probably have to load a shipping container.
Ok thank you
Why dony they come up witha stationary blade and the bottom part slides the log could cut longer trees
That’s how older mills worked. It takes a much larger machine to move the log. You can buy extensions from my mill, I’ve just never needed one.
How much you charge for a 6"×10" cant 16' long
Better check and see if your dog sat in an ant next. 😂 have a great day
That tail is always after her!😂
Looks like your dog is in desperate need of a playmate.
She just needs a bag of sawdust 😂
Think I'd run all that Cedar bark through a chipper... great mulch.
I’m looking to buy a chipper for my tractor. I could make lots of nice cedar chips as well.
You can buy a lot of lumber for what that saw mill cost. Starting at $30,295
That’s $10k more than I paid new. That being said, this mill paid for itself in 6 months and has generated enough revenue to buy three of them from just my UA-cam videos.
@@NorthwestSawyer I guess inflation has hit the mill market too then. Because that's what they're charging on their website now.
@@1pcfred had I known then how easily I would’ve paid for it, I would have bought a bigger mill. $20k was a stretch back then.
👋🏼
🇺🇸🇩🇰😀👍
Silly dog. That first log wasn't as good as it looked. You just can't tell every time. Thanks for the video.
Thank you! You never know what’s hiding in a log. Good or bad.
The volume is not working on your audio
I had full audio.
