Set piece screwed us in the WC. Both scrum and lineout which was a killer and unexpected especially from the lineout. Sexton had to retire at some point and really you should have more than one player vying for the position anyway. Crowley is 24 now so should be starting to come into his own in terms of starting for Ireland. This is his chance.

3 minutes of 6 Nations rugby under Crowley's belt is scary. Just shows how much Sexton was over relied on.

Crowley has his own strengths though.
1, he is a better athlete than Sexton. He can play 12 or 15 too.
2, his cross field kicks has become a weapon lately. That was a weakness for Sexton.
3, he has a longer kick than Sexton from hand.
4, he is more robust than Sexton.
5, he is a cooler character. He wont lose his cool or get wound up as easy.

@@karlosdeevs aye! indeed he will, and hoping he'll get to that level we need him at. not just making up the numbers and filling the 10 shirt while we are looking for the next O'gara or Sexton. But i don't see it right now in him. he looks for all the world to me as he's reached his peak. ANd that peak isn't enoough to run the irish backline at international level.

Here we go again, negative negative and more negative, these videos are hilarious. You couldn’t make this stuff up, its like Ireland will never play a good game of rugby again. Such a waste of 6 minutes …..

Couldn't agree more. It was the same when players like BOD and POC retired. All the 'Ireland will never be able to replace X player' talk highlights Irelands strength in depth complex from the past. They need to be more positive about players coming through and not push this ridiculous (will he be as good as previous player) narrative. If Ireland don't perform at their very best against France, you can almost guarantee Crowley will be scapegoated, even if he plays well.
