I just found this UA-cam video by searching online for WHO actually sang for Shug Avery in the original film?! Wow, that's very interesting to learn that Steven Spielberg had a certain "sound" in mind, I never knew that, ALL these years later!!! You sure can't tell when you look at the movie, I'm watching the movie right now on OWN!!!

Tata has an absolutely incredibly beautiful strong and radiantly powerful voice! I love her voice so much!!! She's awesome or Octavwsome (for octaves and more)!
I like to be creative and so that is what I wanted to put in about her power packed vocals!! I am VERY inspired by her singing!!

Very well put together! As a child, I remember hearing Tata singing a song called 'Running With The Vision', but it wasn't til many years later that I realized she was also the voice in this wonderful film.
