  • Ethel Challenge 2022. I hope one day to complete this Ethel Challenge and keep hiking in the Peak District National Park & The Lake District National Park. This is a mammoth journey for me and I hope that people will subscribe and join me on this adventure. And if you are in the UK and you want to bag a couple of Ethels with me then come along.
This channel is a fledgling channel, the videos are raw, the mistakes are many but as I gain traction I hope to add music & Drone footage but before splashing out on these extras I have to prove to myself that I can and will stick with it. Here's to the new me, a new chapter in my life and all the adventures that lay before me. Thank you to everyone who has subscribed so far and those who subscribe in the future.
    Chris

Ethel Challenge 2022 - Lantern Pike. Ethel 68. 27 Ethels to go. Really nice hike but it is certainly getting cold out there. Enjoy, and if you do then please consider subscribing and dropping a comment.

Hey Chris, your Ethel Challenge journey is truly inspiring! 🏞 Lantern Pike seems like a beautiful adventure, especially with those stunning views over Kinder. The chilly weather adds a unique charm to the hike, doesn't it? 🌬 Winter hiking has its own magic.
It's incredible to see the camaraderie among fellow hikers in the comments, sharing memories and appreciating the scenery. And Lez's story about fixing the sundial on Lantern Pike adds a nostalgic touch to the experience.
Keep conquering those Ethels, and thanks for taking us along on your hikes! Looking forward to more amazing walks through the Peak District and the Lake District. 🥾🔝 Take care, and happy trails! 🌲🌄

Hi Dan, it was a steep hike up from the Mill but well worth it. Beautiful 360 views especially over the Kinder Plateau. Thank you for your continued support Dan. I really appreciate it.

It is getting colder now but I'll still hike until we get the snow then that'll be it for the season unfortunately. Thanks for watching and commenting brother.

Ha yep it’s that time of the year that I also start off in layers and am then roasting after just one small uphill section 😅 nice views from the top, this looks a nice Ethel.

Yes, layers on, layers off, cold, layers on. No matter what, my back is always wet with sweat from the backpack. That was definitely a great Ethel for the views. Especially the view over Kinder Plateau. Thanks for all your support Yasmin, I really appreciate it.

It certainly is. I'll have to get some better kit if I hike into Winter. Hopefully I'll complete the Challenge before the Snow. Thanks for watching and commenting I really appreciate it.

Lovely vid Chris.....Lantern Pike is not one of my favourite places....the Trig or Ethel you touched used to have a sundial cemented on top.....Three times I had to climb that bloody hill with my bucket of cement to fix the sundial back because vandals had pulled it off....the Trust decided in the end to remove the Sundial and add the plaque you saw....fondish memories...Cheers Lez

That is such a shame. I'm surprised that vandals would walk that far. Mind you, I've seen yobs on motor cross bikes up the paths before. I'm glad they are evoking some memories. Here's to positives ones. There are idiots everywhere, unfortunately. Thank you again for all the support Lez.

This one was straight up, no warm-up. I had to stop after 15mins my heart was going a bit. I like to push it, but when that happens, I slow a bit, lol. But yeah, great views from up there. Thanks for watching and commenting I really appreciate it 😊

There is a trig point there but it's broken with no metalwork on. It's in the plain field next to the one with trees half way up a small hill. Don't know why it got moved
