How about “We’re No Angels” 1989 a Paramount Picture with Robert De Niro, Sean Penn and Demi Moore!! Why no Blu-ray? And I fully agree with Lethal Weapon box and Young Guns II
@@AVAPopCulture I noticed you don't have Wall-E on your Criterion want list. The Criterion 4k release of the movie Wall-E is the definitive version to own. IMHO
The Lethal Weapon movies not being on 4k is the craziest. It seems Tarantino movies may be getting 4ks in release order which sadly puts Hateful Eight last. Does anyone under 30 even know who Pauly Shore is? I got a jury summons for this month and it really made me want to watch Jury Duty.
Lethal Weapon is inexcusable not to have 4ks... under 30s may not know Pauly Shore BUT it is the over 30s who are buying the most physical media anyway lol
Distributors are a business and want to makeba profit abd not looose money and usually wait for upcoming Anniversary or new Lethal Weapon Film in cinemas to capitalize on the fan interest in the films again to rereleese a new 4k edition with the film the film and original 4 film collection so buyers double dip to buy both. It's nothing new as Spielberg is quoted as saying for years that he waited for several years for the bluray market to mature when the majority of the public owned a bluray or pS3 player so it was worth releasing his films to a mass market rather than a small niche market to generate the maximum profit for studios and distributors. It's just basic economics😂😂😂
My Science Project...I haven't even thought of that movie in a decade and now I've immediately rushed to ebay to buy the overpriced blu ray from Spain. I watched the VHS of it 100x as a kid. Coincidently, I have an Iron Eagle Blu Ray from Spain too. Young Guns 2 I have an American blu ray release...I don't recall it being hard to get or overly expensive....but once something goes oop who knows.
yeah young guns II is in and out on BR on amazon...when it is in, it is $24.99 which is still kinda high for a blu ray with no slip...but why there is no 4k is odd when part 1 got a couple 4k releases and did well... So cool you liked My science project!! a lot of people have never heard of it when I talk about it!!! I absolutely love it! watched it soooooo many times with my dad! same with Iron Eagle which would be an amazing 4k!
Ill keep putting these out there in hopes that some studio or boutique is watching: Borat, Can't Buy Me Love, Son in Law, A Christmas Story Christmas, House Party, Class Act, Grandma's Boy, Hot Chick, Mask (w/ Cher), New Guy, Pirate Movie, She's Out of Control, Almost Heroes, Above the Rim, Rhe Beach, Basketball Diaries, Balls of Fury, Dukes of Hazzard (w/ Stiffler), Freddy Got Fingered, Panic Room, Red Sonja, Splash, the other Revenge of the Nerds movies, and too many TV shows to list
Lots of TV shows aren't even in Blu-Ray, nevermind 4K. Star Trek comes to mind (DS9, Voyager), but also the Outer Limits rebook from early 2000's. IT Crowd, Father Ted (although with those the creator got cancelled for some comments he made, but I won't be getting into that) Roughnecks: Starship Troopers Chronicles, Office UK, Married with Children are also others the list is sadly almost endless...
agree... I want Buffy the Vampire Slayer on 4k but Id take BluRay... I really want Smallville on 4k - it would look amazing! so many others... Friday Night Lights, X-Files...on and on
For technical reasons, some of those effects-heavy shows from the 90's are a pain to remaster into BluRay, let alone 4k. TNG is a perfect example: they had to basically redo every effects shot to release the BR set--and it didn't sell as well as they'd expected, which makes it less likely we'll see any of the others re-released anytime soon.
Flight of the Navigator is one I'd like. I never hear anyone mention it, but I still love watching it. Came out in 1986. The UFO spacecraft design and the maneuvers it does are exactly how many pilots today who have been speaking recently at the Congressional hearings have described UFOs that they've seen. This movie was WAY ahead of time. It even has the "tic-tac" shape and drops into the ocean at a high speed, which is exactly what the pilots today have been describing.
@AVAPopCulture It's one of my top 10 favorite movies from my childhood. The scene at the beginning when he goes to his house and it's the future, and his family doesn't live there anymore used to really freak me out when I was a kid! And the younger brother suddenly being older than him always stuck with me. Great music in it.
Flight of the Navigator is a favorite of mine as well. As a kid, I watched it a million times. As I have gotten older I have kinda dreaded going back a watching movies that I loved as a kid. Sometimes they just don't hold up and It's a bummer. Flight of the Navigator holds up from the story to even the effects surprisingly. I have my DVD copy still.
Awesome video, dude! My Science Project and Space Camp were released by Kino years ago, so I expect them to release them in 4k with slips eventually. I'll double dip, of course! Movies I have wanted on blu-ray/4k for so long: 1. Can't buy me love 2. Loverboy 3. Bye-bye, love 4. Encino Man 5. What about Bob 6. Fright Night 2 7. White Water Summer 8. Don't tell mom the babysitters dead 9. Tommy Tricker and the stamp traveler
hopefully they will! they have been OOP for a little bit now.... I am 100% with you on those selections! I a hearing Fright Night 2 is coming! Im saving Cant buy me love and Loverboy to chat about on a later video lol
Just about the only releases we'll get from the major studios are the ones that would be the most profitable for them (yes, because their purpose is to make $$$). But, how many times are they going to re-re-release the same movies with only a slight variation in packaging and/or special features while ignoring movies with an interest/demand? Some boutiques DO release movies not seen for a while, but usually as limited number of copies. Such a dilemma!
The Mask is available on Blu-ray and new from Gruv. Harlem Nights 4K might be a while. Paramount just released on Blu-ray in 2022 and is currently available for $12. I really want Pink Floyd the Wall and a movie I haven't seen in a long time and only has a DVD is Mischief. Kelly Preston is all I need to say about that movie.
A lot of older movies and anime with with music group soundtracks have trouble with re-releases because of the artists wanting a giant % cut... it's a shame!
Blurays and 4ks i wish were available; -Down Periscope, -Son of the Mask, -Jack of All Trades tv series with Bruce Cample, -Dukes of Hazard tv series -Encino Man, -Monkey Bone, And a lot of the older movies like 1967 Doctor Dolittle, Music Man (2003) and a lot of the old Frank Sinatra, Bing Cosby and Danny Kaye style movies
1. Angelas Ashes 2. Captain Ron 3. loverboy 4. cant buy me love 5. splash 6, encino man 7, the gods must be crazy 8. fandango 9. gung ho 10 johnny dangerously 11. open range 12. almost heroes 13. fools rush in
A few quick mentions I'd like to see on 4K in North America: Apocalypto Frailty U-571 Chronicles of Narnia Trilogy Das Boot Dark City The Fly Gravity Minority Report True Grit (2010) The Pirates of the Caribbean Films (Remastered by Sony)
excellent selections! I think you will see "The Fly" pretty soon.... Frailty would be AWESOME! The bluray for it is made on demand right now... the Narnia movies would shine in 4k!!
Aces: Iron Eagle III did have a Kino blu ray in 2019, but it disappeared. "How is Lethal Weapon not on 4K?"..... two words: Mel Gibson. I saw a trailer for his new film Flight Risk last night and the trailer didn't even bring up his name.
@@AVAPopCulture True but it seems like Warner Bros seems hesitant to put his movies out on 4K, Mad Max are the only ones they've really done. It's the same way with Steven Seagal, none of his movies are on 4K and from what I researched they had a very bad time with him when he was still under contract with WB.
Definitely agree we need the Lethal Weapons on 4K! I have a pretty darn good Blu Ray 4-film collection that I got on Amazon. Also love Necessary Roughness which only came out on Blu Ray a few years ago; I bought it as soon as I could to replace my DVD that I had forever.
it is the same ownership as part 1 so I dont see why that would be an issue... According to Lou Diamond Phillips, Morgan Creek is just horrible to work with and they also stopped YG3 last year when they had already gotten so far into pre-production that they had storyboards, locations, script reads with cast etc
Since you brought up Son in Law, we don’t even have Encino Man in 4k or Blu-ray. That’s another big cast and amazing soundtrack. Steve Vai and Vine Neil!? We this one as well.
Yeah that is one we need! I left it off because Brian at Last Movie Standing recently had it on an OOP list video he did but I absolutely love that movie!!
I don't know about a 4k, but Stay Alive for sure deserves a bluray release. Such an underrated horror movie. I have it on dvd. It would be awesome if Scream Factory did a bluray release of Stay Alive. I'd buy it in a heart beat.
There’s a really good Bonnie & Clyde movie called the Highway Men w/Woody & Costner that needs a BR at least (Airheads and Detroit Rock City also overdue)
The movies you mentioned are for the most part “B” movies and to market as 4K or Blu-ray is not feasible. Studio would lose money. Only a few exceptions.
Some of my favorites that are not on Blu-ray: 1. Pin 2. Blood Beach 3. Prom Night 2 4. Night Life 5. Honeymoon Horror 6. Home for the Holidays (1972) 7. Murder by Phone 8. Black X-mas 9. Night Watch (1973) 10. Deadly Spawn 11. Anguish 13. Assassination 14. Love and Bullets 15. Midnight Hour 16. My Mom's a Werewolf 17. Hotline 18. Exists 19. Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead 20. 9 to 5 (okay it is on Blu-ray but it's out of print and extremely expensive)
@@AVAPopCulture Really? That would be amazing! I'm just really shocked that 9 to 5 doesn't have a good release. That movie is beloved. I could see it being a Criterion release for sure
Never heard of the Blu -ray Curse? Got some of those Blu-Rays out in Europe. I have the Mask Blu-Ray on Steelbook. Some of the issues is copyright with the music. Alot of the time the songs used in older movies have their own individual copyright issues that prevent them getting reproduced on a new format . So it can cause problems even outside of copyright issues themselves
you've never heard of the bluray curse? It is just where, inevitably, you finally buy the bluray of a movie and they immediately announce a 4k release of it
Snagged My Science Project on Blu-ray before it went oop. One of my all time favorites. I was a big gearhead as a kid and that Goat was amazing. Great movie and like you said the effects would be awesome in 4K! Dennis Hopper was so great in this movie and it had a lot of 1 liners. To many people are oblivious to this movie. I also love a Richard Greico movie called born to run which was an amazing street racing movie and I can’t find it anywhere. I had it on VHS along time ago and it had to be special ordered then. I no longer have the tape and would love to see it again. So sad the movies we have lost.
Great topic Chase. First of all, when I was in middle school, Iron Eagle and Red Dawn was probably the two movies I rented all the time in the video store. I wanted to be a fighter pilot from movies like Iron Eagle. Second, I think Young Guns II is superior to the first one. Umbrella is the only one right now that released a pretty decent BD so far. I have a feeling it will come in 4K soon, especially if the rumor of a Young Guns 3 is in talks. Third, movies that I want a BD release include Almost Heroes. This is Chris Farley's funniest movie in my opinion. Johnny Dangerously? This movie is hilarious and a 80's staple on HBO. What About Bob? I know this is a Touchstone release so that's why. And finally, The Program needs a fresh transfer. One of the best college football movies ever made. And it has James Caan! I found my DVD at a Goodwill. Chase if you still can't find a copy, contact me and I will ship you mine.
You have great taste lol... The Program with a legit 4k restoration would be CRAZY good!!! I have heard talks of YGIII as well, that would be very interesting.... you are too kind! someone said that there is a DVD of the Program on amazon for $8...I need to see if I can find it
Wanted dead or alive is not on the Young Guns 2 soundtrack nor was it in the movie. Emilio Estevez, approached Jon Bon Jovi to ask if he could use that song for the movie, and Jon told him how about I write an original song instead? This became blaze of glory. Wanted dead or alive however is not on the soundtrack or in the movie.
18:31 RIGHT!! Chase let us know... will movies remastered from 70 mm look better than movies restored from 35 millimeter?? Yesss Harlem Knights 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 Hearing you repeat those classic lines hit home ❤😂😂😂 you better know your movies Chase!!!!
You shot me in Pinky toe lol.... and early in the movie - "So you shot him? How about some ice cream?" lol on the 70mm, I would think since 70mm film has a theoretical max resolution of 18k which is 2 and half to 3x's or so that of 35mm film (depending on the film used, camera, and conditions) that a 70mm film would knock your socks off compressed down to 4k! I think they even had to use a full 4k intermediate for the digital edits...
@AVAPopCulture Well I would love to see it... now i'm gonna have to research if there are any movies that were shot in 70 mm restored to 4k and get one. I believe 2001 was, but I'm not a fan. I know, i know, but I do own Oppenheimer. I'm not sure if that's the same. On a different note 😯 all i know is Gemini Man with its increased 60fps IS FREAKIN UNBELIEVABLE!!! It's the best 4k disk I've EVER seen!!! And you keep quoting classic black films and you gone end up with an honary ticket to the Barber Q and family Reunion 😀🤣😇
what more annoying is when it goes out of print. you gotta wait and see if another distribution to sell it some titles will get 3 year lifespan then it gone for another 6 months, a year, or two. it BS.
@@AVAPopCulture what more irritating is the BS limited edition releases. I was extremely annoyed that Trick or Treat 1986 was a limited edition exclusion to a distributor instead of a wide release. there are 3 movies I hope it would get a re-issused again. No Surrender, No Retreat, My Science Project, and Tuff Turf. I already pre-ordered Pray For Death. it coming out on Dec. 10th of this year. that was on my wish list of movies I wanna get on blu ray.
@@AVAPopCulture Yes that would be awesome! I only have Goes to Camp on blu-ray and all the others on DVD. All your choices were really good. I watched my Iron Eagle DVD again recently after hearing the sad news that Louis Gossett Jr. passed away. He was so good in it. I still have Space Camp on VHS. That was one I watched a lot when I was younger.
I did find a bluray of Iron Eagle 1 but from another country on Amazon U.S. and waited a little bit too long, and now you can't find it anywhere. I did find Young Guns 2 bluray, but it's a MOD "made on demand," so it's kinda expensive. I think I paid over $25.00 for the 1080p bluray, but after I got Young Guns 4k steelbook from Best Buy. I had to complete the set. LOL.
@AVAPopCulture I just recently found the old DVD at my local Goodwill and watched for the first time in a long time and loved it just as much as I did as a kid back in the 80's!
Movies that baffle me as to why they aren't on 4k yet! Die Hard Lethal Weapon Iron Eagle Rush Hour Armageddon iRobot Gone in 60 sec The rock Con air Last of the Mohicans Indian in the cupboard Time Cop AND MANY MANY MORE! 😂
Spacecamp has a Blu Ray that's out of print from Kino Lorber and it's very pricey on Ebay . Iron Eagle is also pricey on Blu on Ebay. A great film that's gone out of print recently is Outland (1981) it has a great transfer on Blu. I usually see 4k transfers from friends and some are pretty great some are not. I'm not one who will jump to multiple formats . I have a high end setup with a high end upscale Blu Ray player and I'm satisfied with Blu Ray copies
There are a couple Iron Eagle blu ray releases, just not U.S. releases I’ve been thinking of picking it up but it’s still at a high price, I did get lucky and got the My Science Project and Space Camp blu rays before they went out of print
Good list. I agree with your picks. Young Guns & Lethal Weapon are long overdue. Especially with talks of more sequels. Enemy Mine (1985), Solarbabies (1986) & Alien Nation (1988), would look great on 4K. I would love Son In Law at least on Blu-ray. One I’d love to see even on DVD, is Midnight Edition (1993). That was only released on VHS & Laser Disc. I have a whole bunch of football movies myself. I don’t think I have The Program but Amazon has a DVD for $8. And a Blu-ray of The Mask for $12.
thank you! and yeah, those 2 are GLARING misses in my opinion...Enemy Mine is a great call! That one would look so good in 4k! I must have missed the DVD of the Program on Amazon!
@@AVAPopCulture Enemy Mine is one not many people I know have even heard of. Alien Nation too. This is why I watch you, Cobwebs, Born2BeRad & other movie channels.
Space camp is such a good movie. What a great list of movies that need 4k's and if they don't have them at least blu ray. Great list of movies. Really enjoyed this one.
I had the Space Camp DVD, Ripped it and put it on my Plex server. It's even worse quality now. God knows what happened to the original DVD though. Decent film at the cinema
I got space camp and my science project on blu ray from kino lorber for my wife a few Christmases ago, it was 2022. Gleaming the Cube I have never seen on anything other than dvd since the vhs days; it was one of my favorite movies growing up
Gleaming the Cube is another one I was going to mention and forgot about it! I watched it so much as a kid! It would kill as a Vinegar Syndrome release! Those Kinos of My Science Project and Space Camp are OOP and expensive on the after market now! we need 4ks of those movies!
I was fortunate enough to get Roadhouse on 4k with the nice case and all the extras from vinegar syndrome; I would be thrilled to death if they did Gleaming the Cube on 4k, it would be amazing
Recently gave up and bought powder on dvd. I know of the directors history but bought anyway because one it’s a great movie and two everyone else involved should not lose out cause of him.
A big movie for me that hasn't gotten a Blu Ray or 4K release is, What About Bob? starring Bill Murray, Richard Dreyfuss, Kathryn Erbe and Julie Hagerty. Probably my favorite Bill Murray movie. The other one that I would like to see would be Don't Tell Mom the Babysitters Dead with Christina Applegate. A group of fans did do an anniversary blu ray for it kind of like what was done for the original theatrical Star Wars trilogy, it's decent and the image quality for the movie is better then the DVD which I also have. They did a remake of the movie and it was released in April of this year and a lot of fans were hoping we would see at least a blu ray release of the original to kind of hype up the remake and/or make a quick buck but sadly nothing.
Hard Eight (no usa Blu-ray). Weak Blu-ray of SLING BLADE only. And NO DVD at all: Three for the Road (1987) Charlie Sheen, Night of the Juggler (1980), Misunderstood (1983) and no media for THE THIEF WHO CAME TO DINNER.
Man I so agree with you on so much. Lethal Weapon movies must have on 4k. These movies and so much more need a Blu-ray or 4K. I can't tell you how many dumbass movies got a Blu-ray or 4K and these movies that deserve it nothing. So disappointing 😔🤬‼️
Wanna know what Dead Presidents, Strange Days, and 13th Warrior (for the Mrs) all have in common? 1) there was no stateside bluray release whatsoever and 2) MOTHERF***ING DISNEY! 😭
I wonder if it has to do with the licensing for original music(especially for Young Guns II) or maybe residuals for vast and crew? Not sure. I lived YG2, Harlem Nights, and Space Camp. I actually went to Space Camp in Huntsville the summer after the Challenger explosion. By the way, The joystick to stabilize the Multiaxis Trainer(the 3 concentric ring machine) does nothing. It was just for the movie.
it is mostly the same actors in YGII so if anything, maybe the music but who knows...We watched Harlem Nights and Space Camps so many times we probably knew them better than the people who made them lol... I remember sitting here in Georgia watching the challenger tragedy on tv with my mom and brother...so sad
What an awesome subject to talk about as i ask the same question as i want to see Never On Tuesday from 1989 and Rescue Me from 1992 as they have never been released not even on dvd you can only watch them on youtube really! and another is Fright Night 2 the original version even the remake has a blu ray release and thats just the tip of the iceberg but i wait and hope so enjoy your channel take care
that movie been in and out of print on blu ray. I mean, the lifespan of that movie is a pain because the last time it was in print. Kino Lorber had it for nearly available 2 and half years or so and then vanished. it was first release on blu ray back in 2016 then re-issued in 2020. it may have went out of print either late 2023 or early 2024.
There is a fourth iron eagle with Lou gusset Jr but I it was a direct to video release and it’s dvd is pretty cheap, as for the lethal weapons blu rays it’s sad only the theatrical cuts are on the blu’s but not the directors cut ‘s, of the first 10 DVD’s I bought with my first dvd player the only two I remember getting are Necessary Roughness and The Last Dragon
@@AVAPopCulture it’s “MOD” in the sense that it’s still a pressed disc and not a burned copy. There are a few companies that still do burned on demand Blu-ray, but luckily Sony pretty much stopped doing that for the most part. Paramount still does burned discs from what I understand.
What About Bob? is my number 1 most watched favorite comedy movie of all time. Guess what, I know it's stuck on VHS and DVD. No blu-ray, no 4K, but I don't consider it a curse. I'm okay with watching it just on DVD, the picture quality looks fine. My number 2 most watched comedy of all time is Hamburger the Motion Picture, now that's one that is trapped in VHS only format and sells for a lot of money on ebay. I do understand why these big hit '80's movies aren't budging; big name music copyright restrictions. It costs more money to restore movies with big music soundtracks. I would love to see some rare comedies get their due like Hot Resort and Malibu Bikini Shop, but the money and interest just isn't there at this time. Jim McBride of Mr. Skin fame had to pull teeth just to get H.O.T.S. released on DVD, it finally happened way back in 2008, but that's as good as it's going to get as far as I know for H.O.T.S.
This is a good argument for why you should hold on to your old DVD's and VHS tapes. There is no guarantee the movies you love the most from back then will get upgrades, or worse, upgrades with controversial scenes cut out.
How about The Rocketeer which I recently bought on regular Blu-ray because 4K hasn't even been an option? Enico Man, *batteries not included, CACOON!, Don't Tell Mom the Babysitters Dead, and so many others. Technically, every Shane Black film is a Christmas movie.
Thoes are your 4K wish list!? Grabbing the disc with your finger right on the playing surface!! Waving the case around making it difficult to see. Where is the Block This Channel button......
The real reason why are so many movies that are only available on DVD or VHS still to this day. Is either licensing rights or just not enough demand for the film to get a bluray or 4k release. And on top of that the small labels don't want to spend more money & time on a first time catalog titles being released on bluray or 4k. Bc that cost more time & money on remastering the print for a bluray or a 4k release. And that is why we don't see as many first time catalog titles being releases anymore just recycling catalog titles that already been released on bluray but now get a 4k release. And fyi you can get a bluray release of Young guns 2 bc I own it on bluray from Sony & Kino did put out a bluray release of my science project. And iron eagle is owned by Sony & lethal weapon is coming to 4k in 2025 & the mask probably will get a 4k release in 2025 & Harlem nights is on bluray from paramount
eh... demand aint it...movies are selling out of the boutiques at a rapid rate and people are clamoring for 4ks... Licensing isnt an issue for studios - they own their own stuff.... a lot of the boutiques already have 4ks of the blurays that they put out too because that is what they make the blurays from... ..I think they wait to drive up anticipation -create a false scarcity of supply and a further heightened demand but with the studios, it is even ore nefarious - they want to push their streaming services rather than revert back to almost all physical I am afraid...... If Vinegar Syndrome is selling out of some of their titles, the demand for bigger movies is certainly there...
@AVAPopCulture I am sorry but you are wrong. Bc licensing & the rights issues are holding up alot of catalog titles from being released on on bluray & 4k. And I say this bc I have talked to some small labels & ask them about some catalog titles. Why haven't these catalog titles gotten a bluray or a 4k release. And 80 percent of the time is rights issues with either the movie or the music in the movie. Like for a sample gleaming the cube with christen slater has not gotten bluray release bc of rights issues
Blame It On The Night (1984) Thunder Alley (1985) A Tigers Tale (1987) Breaking The Rules (1992) Kid (1990) Sticks and Stones (1996) Across The Tracks (1991) Roll Bounce (2005) Us (1991) Fall Into Darkness (1996) Leave Yesterday Behind (1978) The Halloween Town Series Moving Target (1988) Brotherhood Of Justice (1986) Above The Rim (1994) Players Club (1998) Blown Away (1993) Cadence (1990) Twisted Love (1995) Men Don't Tell (1993) Love Song (2000) etc...etc....
@@AVAPopCulture I was referring to the movie Blown Away starring Corey Haim, Nicole Eggbert and Corey Feldman. I'm not sure if it came in out in 1992 or 1993, because various different websites list both years as the release date. 🤷🏽

How about “We’re No Angels” 1989 a Paramount Picture with Robert De Niro, Sean Penn and Demi Moore!! Why no Blu-ray? And I fully agree with Lethal Weapon box and Young Guns II
@@AVAPopCulture
I noticed you don't have Wall-E on your Criterion want list. The Criterion 4k release of the movie Wall-E is the definitive version to own. IMHO
. . I agree,Iron Eagle needs one of those cool 4K box sets. Lethal weapon too. . . 😎
those would be instant buys for me
The Lethal Weapon movies not being on 4k is the craziest.
The Big Country and Ben Hur would look good in 4k, too. Both were photographed in color w/70mm Technirama or 65mm Panavision lenses and cameras.
Splash has an Australian release in blu-ray.
@@Nick-us6tzgot grandmas boy but just checked it’s dvd. Think from fye used. Watch it daily. Summer rental would be good
Revenge of the nerds movies do have blu ray releases
Red Sonja I have from Europe
@@MaxRager80Right. Now Revenge of the Nerds 2 doesn't have a Blu-ray
I have a lot of these on DVD. Like you said they deserve better.
Lots of TV shows aren't even in Blu-Ray, nevermind 4K.
Star Trek comes to mind (DS9, Voyager), but also the Outer Limits rebook from early 2000's. IT Crowd, Father Ted (although with those the creator got cancelled for some comments he made, but I won't be getting into that)
Roughnecks: Starship Troopers Chronicles, Office UK, Married with Children are also others the list is sadly almost endless...
It even has the "tic-tac" shape and drops into the ocean at a high speed, which is exactly what the pilots today have been describing.
that would be a damn good one!
They did a 4k scan of it a while back and released a blu ray, so it wouldn't be any extra work to put it on 4k I'm sure. Great mention
@jefferymetcalf7266 Awesome 💯, I didn't know. I knew it was available on Disney but I didn't know about a Blu-ray or 4k anything. Sweet 👍.
How about Ron Howard’s “Cocoon”.
This was definitely an eighties hit.
I think there was a blu ray but out of print for a long time.
I would think Cocoon HAS to be coming to 4k soon...that one seems like a given but who knows
Can’t buy me love is a classic that to my knowledge never got a blu ray.
it hasnt gotten one... I am gonna talk about that one and Loverboy soon! I love those movies
I broke down and ended up getting a "home-brew" blu-ray version.
@@smmikkelI’m not familiar with that. Good quality? I recently watched my full frame dvd. It’s lacking for sure.
Another one I forgot was Beyond the Law with Charlie Sheen. This movie was one of the best 90's hidden gems.
I havent seen that one in forever!
The chase! Another great sheen movie!
Big Trouble in Little China in a 4k atmos mix with a steelbook..on my wishlist!🙏🏾🙏🏾
That is a great movie that deserves a 4k release.... I have been begging for that one for a long time!
Hopefully next year! Great videos! Keep up the great work!
@@willhood8833 fingers crossed! and thank you!
For me, the last carpenter movie I need and it among my favorites.
Awesome video, dude! My Science Project and Space Camp were released by Kino years ago, so I expect them to release them in 4k with slips eventually. I'll double dip, of course!
Movies I have wanted on blu-ray/4k for so long:
1. Can't buy me love
2. Loverboy
3. Bye-bye, love
4. Encino Man
5. What about Bob
6. Fright Night 2
7. White Water Summer
8. Don't tell mom the babysitters dead
9. Tommy Tricker and the stamp traveler
hopefully they will! they have been OOP for a little bit now.... I am 100% with you on those selections! I a hearing Fright Night 2 is coming! Im saving Cant buy me love and Loverboy to chat about on a later video lol
My Science Project was an HBO staple back in the day. I haven't seen it since.
Yep! It was a huge part of my childhood and on all the time!!!
Some of these titles not being available seems crazy to me! Thanks for another awesome upload; you're nursing me through a migraine!
it does seem crazy on some of them for sure! and take care of yourself!!! feel better!
@AVAPopCulture Thank you ☺️
Just about the only releases we'll get from the major studios are the ones that would be the most profitable for them (yes, because their purpose is to make $$$). But, how many times are they going to re-re-release the same movies with only a slight variation in packaging and/or special features while ignoring movies with an interest/demand? Some boutiques DO release movies not seen for a while, but usually as limited number of copies. Such a dilemma!
When he disrespected that big woman. OMG hilarious 😂
Blurays and 4ks i wish were available;
-Down Periscope,
-Son of the Mask,
-Jack of All Trades tv series with Bruce Cample,
-Dukes of Hazard tv series
-Encino Man,
-Monkey Bone,
And a lot of the older movies like 1967 Doctor Dolittle, Music Man (2003) and a lot of the old Frank Sinatra, Bing Cosby and Danny Kaye style movies
I freaking love Down Periscope lol
1. Angelas Ashes
2. Captain Ron
3. loverboy
4. cant buy me love
5. splash
6, encino man
7, the gods must be crazy
8. fandango
9. gung ho

11. open range
12. almost heroes

Troy needs a 4K release, so does Alien vs Predator, True Grit (2010) as well
shocked Troy doesnt have on ealread!
We need The Toy with Richard Pryor in 4K.
another one my brother rented all the time back in the day lol
A few quick mentions I'd like to see on 4K in North America:
Apocalypto
Frailty
U-571
Chronicles of Narnia Trilogy
Das Boot
Dark City
The Fly
Gravity
Minority Report
True Grit (2010)
The Pirates of the Caribbean Films (Remastered by Sony)
Apocalypto would be great! I love that movie!
excellent selections! I think you will see "The Fly" pretty soon.... Frailty would be AWESOME! The bluray for it is made on demand right now... the Narnia movies would shine in 4k!!
@@AVAPopCulture I would love to see the classic cartoon Network shows come to Blu-ray.
Agreed. Pirates was horrible on 4k from Disney
Aces: Iron Eagle III did have a Kino blu ray in 2019, but it disappeared. "How is Lethal Weapon not on 4K?"..... two words: Mel Gibson. I saw a trailer for his new film Flight Risk last night and the trailer didn't even bring up his name.
there are plenty of Mel Gibson movies being released on 4k
@@AVAPopCulture True but it seems like Warner Bros seems hesitant to put his movies out on 4K, Mad Max are the only ones they've really done. It's the same way with Steven Seagal, none of his movies are on 4K and from what I researched they had a very bad time with him when he was still under contract with WB.
Every time there’s a whisper about a Tarantino release-I’m thinking, please be Hateful Eight!!!
same with me!
@@AVAPopCultureChase, I'd love to hear your take on Tarantino films! Rank them, please. I really only know a few of his films.

The Lethal Weapon movies not on 4k is a real head scratcher.
I believe 2025 will be lethal 4ks
still waiting for dead presidents on blu ray or 4k.
good movie! havent seen it in a long time!
6:15 Young Guns 2 isn’t available due to rights issues between Morgan Creek and 20th Century Fox ( now Disney)
it is the same ownership as part 1 so I dont see why that would be an issue...
I wanna see Stay Alive get the 4k and Blu-ray treatment probably won’t happen cause Disney owns the rights
fingers crossed the Sony deal starts causing more movement on 4ks
I don't know about a 4k, but Stay Alive for sure deserves a bluray release. Such an underrated horror movie. I have it on dvd. It would be awesome if Scream Factory did a bluray release of Stay Alive. I'd buy it in a heart beat.
Disney has been releasing more lately. I agree, I hope the Sony deal helps.
I have the Lethal Weapon 4 pack on Blu-Ray and 2, 3 and 4 look good, but the original looks terrible and I have wanted that one on 4K for 4 years now.
There’s a really good Bonnie & Clyde movie called the Highway Men w/Woody & Costner that needs a BR at least (Airheads and Detroit Rock City also overdue)
I vaguely recall that one... and honestly, I am shocked Airheads isnt out there!
It's pretty long but it's absolutely awesome and it doesn't drag.
@ yes I just rewatched it last month and I loved it but couldn’t find a hard copy available except for the home brew edition 🫣
The movies you mentioned are for the most part “B” movies and to market as 4K or Blu-ray is not feasible. Studio would lose money. Only a few exceptions.
hahahaha have you seen some of the movies that are getting 4k releases?
@ yes but not a huge fan of 4K. They are pricey and I like Blu-ray just fine.
Some of my favorites that are not on Blu-ray:
1. Pin
2. Blood Beach
3. Prom Night 2
4. Night Life
5. Honeymoon Horror
6. Home for the Holidays (1972)
7. Murder by Phone
8. Black X-mas
9. Night Watch (1973)
10. Deadly Spawn
11. Anguish
13. Assassination
14. Love and Bullets
15. Midnight Hour
16. My Mom's a Werewolf
17. Hotline
18. Exists
19. Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead
20. 9 to 5 (okay it is on Blu-ray but it's out of print and extremely expensive)
Nice list! I have heard rumors about Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead but I cant officially confirm or deny those lol
It is just where, inevitably, you finally buy the bluray of a movie and they immediately announce a 4k release of it
This is why I keep dvd - 4k i care more about access then format. I do draw line at going laser disc and vhs
_Stakeout_ never received a Blu-ray release. _Lethal Weapon_ is supposed to be coming out sometime next year, hopefully.
I've been waiting for harlem nights on 4k for so damn long. Also, Krull. I'd be singing the praises of whoever comes out with that one. If ever
I was just told that most of the movies I mentioned here are B-movies that arent feasible because theyd all lose money lol???

But Pray🤲🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻for those titles for a BluRay & or 4K UHD releases🤲🏻🙏🏻.
You can't find the Program on DVD, I'll keep an eye out for one.
if you find it let me know! that is my favorite all time football movie!
@AVAPopCulture I picked it up at a few years back at a thrift shop if I get down to the Bay Area I will for one.
I have heard talks of YGIII as well, that would be very interesting.... you are too kind! someone said that there is a DVD of the Program on amazon for $8...I need to see if I can find it
Program on ebay used like $5, new saw one for $10
Wanted dead or alive is not on the Young Guns 2 soundtrack nor was it in the movie.
Emilio Estevez, approached Jon Bon Jovi to ask if he could use that song for the movie, and Jon told him how about I write an original song instead?
This became blaze of glory.
Wanted dead or alive however is not on the soundtrack or in the movie.
Gone with the Wind, the highest grossing movie of all time adjusted for inflation, doesn't have a 4K
Not yet at least.
And you keep quoting classic black films and you gone end up with an honary ticket to the Barber Q and family Reunion 😀🤣😇
what more annoying is when it goes out of print. you gotta wait and see if another distribution to sell it some titles will get 3 year lifespan then it gone for another 6 months, a year, or two. it BS.
I know right?! that is the worst! and I dont have the most patience lol

I believe it's the rights.
They’re working on Lethal Weapon franchise 4K 14:01
yeah I saw they announced LW1 after I did this video
Hard Eight (no usa Blu-ray). Weak Blu-ray of SLING BLADE only. And NO DVD at all: Three for the Road (1987) Charlie Sheen, Night of the Juggler (1980), Misunderstood (1983) and no media for THE THIEF WHO CAME TO DINNER.
The curse is real 😅 I think I had Sugarland Express for about 48 hours when they sprung the 4k, many such cases
it has gotten me with Elvira and Punch Drunk Love in the past couple months...at least I can still return Punch Drunk Love and wait on the 4k
There's a crap ton of old classic war movies too, all these movies are either stuck on streaming or their not in demand, in their opinion.
they want you to be stuck having to subscribe I think!
I may be forgetting some, but the two big remaining franchises that need 4ks are die hard and lethal weapon!
I think he was Leaf Phoenix then.
Man I so agree with you on so much. Lethal Weapon movies must have on 4k. These movies and so much more need a Blu-ray or 4K. I can't tell you how many dumbass movies got a Blu-ray or 4K and these movies that deserve it nothing. So disappointing 😔🤬‼️
it is crazy isnt it!?
Young Guns II does have a BluRay release from Sony Pictures.
it is in and out of print and "made on demand" .... but the question for it (like the others with blurays) is why does it not have a 4k like part1?
Wanna know what Dead Presidents, Strange Days, and 13th Warrior (for the Mrs) all have in common? 1) there was no stateside bluray release whatsoever and 2) MOTHERF***ING DISNEY! 😭
Disney has to get off this 💩 ...they need to let Sony put these out and license out others!
The 13th Warrior! Travesty how neglected this underrated gem has been treated.
IRON EAGLE 1 (the first TOP GUN)
THE BEACH
......
I believe you are thinking of Della Reese.
yes! I couldnt think of her name in the moment off the top of my head!
Indeed.
I’d love to see 1990 TMNT, tombstone, and a knight’s tale on 4k
those 3 are high up the list for me too!! hopefully, at least TMNT is coming soon!
Gotta be honest, i share your collecting pain. Ive got to a point where im struggling to curate my collection.
I love my science project I was just thinking about that movie
it is a lot of fun! I used to watch it with my dad all the time!
that movie been in and out of print on blu ray.
How do feel about Ai upscale 4k? They seem to be getting better, few media players also have built in up scalers like zidoo 8k player.
depends on how much of it is used....
Right, plus restoring old movies is more of art then something that can just automated
Young Guns 2 is on Amazon. I bought it last year
yeah it goes in and out as an "manufactured on demand" bluray.... needs a 4k big time
@@AVAPopCulture it’s “MOD” in the sense that it’s still a pressed disc and not a burned copy.
Ive made films for over 20 years, restored films, taught film studies, where is the block people who make stupid comments button?
I see Young Guns II bluray on Amazon for 24.06
Son in law is the best. Hard to stream. I want hot chili and meatballs 3 the first movies I watched
Found it young guns 2 on dvd and blu ray $18 amazon
the blu ray is "made on demand" I think!
You mentioned maybe two three interesting titles
The Mask is at least on Blu, $19.99 at Barnes & Noble.
Blame It On The Night (1984)
Thunder Alley (1985)
A Tigers Tale (1987)
Breaking The Rules (1992)
Kid (1990)
Sticks and Stones (1996)
Across The Tracks (1991)
Roll Bounce (2005)
Us (1991)
Fall Into Darkness (1996)
Leave Yesterday Behind (1978)
The Halloween Town Series
Moving Target (1988)
Brotherhood Of Justice (1986)
Above The Rim (1994)
Players Club (1998)
Blown Away (1993)
Cadence (1990)
Twisted Love (1995)
Men Don't Tell (1993)
Love Song (2000)
etc...etc....
Roll Bounce is a good one 😄
nice picks! Cadence with Charlie Sheen is really underrated! Blown Away is out on 4k!
@@AVAPopCulture I was referring to the movie Blown Away starring Corey Haim, Nicole Eggbert and Corey Feldman. I'm not sure if it came in out in 1992 or 1993, because various different websites list both years as the release date. 🤷🏽
Lethal Weapon series is probably waiting for lethal weapon 5!
I hope not! still a while before that comes out and even longer before making it to physical media!
