I found your channel this morning and immediately wanted to make this recipe. The braiding looked so much fun, and I wanted a new challenge with baking bread. This turned out to absolute perfection topped with the large crystal sugar and some melted butter. My husband and son raved about it - so fluffy and sweet! I’ll be saving this in my recipe binder to make again and again!!! Adjustment note: I used more than the upper range of flour because my dough was still fairly sticky. I live in SC and it’s fairly humid (71% humidity today!), so I appreciated the heads up on adding more if needed due to climate. I kept adding by 1/2 cup increments until it reached the consistency you showed. Thanks for a great recipe!!! ❤
I have binge watched your channel and subscribed this morning. You are an awesome instructor! Pleasant to watch. I look forward to my holiday baking this year after watching your videos!! Thank you:)
I love that you’re uploading more yeast recipes! Love all your stuff but baking bread is my favorite because I love the challenge, and I can’t wait to try this braid
Thank you very much for the video & the step by step directions. Because of you, I have been successful using yeast. Thank you. I'm anxious to make this bread. I know that it's delicious, healthy & looks great. Take care.
New subscriber! I can’t wait to make this recipe. Here’s a tip to keep the dough from sticking to your hands while braiding... either use a couple of drops of oil or spray them with Baker’s Joy. You probably know that already. I use it when I make brioche. ❤️
Thank you for such great details! I know I’ll be pausing and starting the video through out. I’m still intimidated with yeast but determined to conquer.
I can’t wait to do one of your recipes! I love to make sourdough bread and I’m wanting to start making bread again. When you make the bread you make it with whole milk. Would 1% milk work? Since it is already a diluted down would you not put any water and just the 1% milk? Also, how long does fresh bread stay on your counter v fridge? Thank you!
Yes, you can substitute 1% milk for the whole milk. I'd still add the water too. I don't recommend storing this bread in the fridge--it should keep for a few days at room temperature in a sealed container or bag. Enjoy! 😊
Guilty! I discovered her blog last Christmas when I was looking for a sugar cookie recipe and I haven’t used another blog ever since. None of Sam’s recipes have disappointed!

0:58, UH OH. I think I’m sensing a Stand Mixer RIVALRY! I think that light blue one wants to be in the SPOTLIGHT! 😂

@@SugarSpunRun Good recipe and I just got my own this morning!
I love this! Thank you for all your fail proof recipes!
You are so welcome! Thanks for following along!
Can we skip the sugar and turn this into regular bread 🥖?
I wouldn't leave it completely out of the bread part. It adds a lot of flavor. The coarse granulated sugar is optional. :)
@@SugarSpunRun thanks
Yummmmmmmm 💙💙💙
I can’t even make regular bread. No way I’ll try tackling this yet lol. But it looks good!
I bet you can do it!
Omg first comment!!! I’m your biggest fan!

I will add it to my list. :)
Thanks a lot. God bless us all.❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Could this dough be used for danishes, or bear claws?
I would actually use my puff pastry instead of this. :) ua-cam.com/video/qCIWNLBiAD0/v-deo.html
