My biggest complaint with Civil War was the president’s lack of screen time. Hiring Nick Offerman and giving him 3 minutes on the screen is a massive mistake
I think one of the main purposes of the film is that once a civil war starts (or any war), it doesn't really matter why it started. Atrocities and chaos will happen. Both sides think they are right and will do everything within their power to win.
I can see you never were in Civil War. It is VERY important who started it, and we always know who did (it's always the one psychotically claiming they didnt even tho theres OVERsubstantial and palpable evidence), like Serbia and Russia genociders for example. Psychotically paranoically thinking someone attacks them, so they "preemptively defended themselves first" 😅😅
We’ve seen what happens to the people that lose civil wars. Not pretty. Ironically, the American Civil War was one of the most humanely fought civil wars in recorded history. The few breaches of conduct, are pretty well known (Ft. Pillow, the Occupation of New Orleans) and when the war ended only a few members of the losing side’s political class were kept as prisoners. It’s almost certainly because it wasn’t a traditional civil war, more a failed war of independence for the Confederate States.
The sniper scene conveys this in a very simplistic way. In a civil war, the politics don't matter because you don't have a say or part in them. All that matters is the war and chaos living around you and surviving in it.
here's a hot tip for you, the side that subverted law and oppressed people is the bad guys and no, they aren't right, and both sides are not the same. I suppose you would have thought hitler and the jews were "both right". Bad take. You should delete your comment.
In Hitler’s final days he had endless breakdowns, blaming his generals for military failures, yet even when he made the decision to end his life he continued to tell his men that there were plans to turn the tides of war. There obviously were none. It’s likely a coping mechanism where if they continued to tell themselves and others they are in the stages of victory, then defeat wouldn’t have a hard impact when it hits.

One thing that isn’t accurate is that he would not refer to them as the people of Texas or California. That goes against rule 1 of propaganda. He would call them terrorists or insurrectionists. He would want to leave room for reconciliation. Calling them out as a state achieves the opposite.
He's trying to seem appealing to the people (citizens) friendly almost. Calling them terrorists/insurrectionists would appear as if he wants to kill them all. It's a trick.
It’s a hollow attempt at appearing reasonable. He’s speaking to the citizens of those states and calling on them to overthrow their secessionist governments, promising them safety from reprisals in return. You see it all the time where leaders try to convince the enemy’s civilian population that they have their interests at heart more than their own governments. I doubt it’s any more than a facade and that his military would rarely distinguish between civilians and soldiers, as again, that happens all the time, sadly.
It's a shame that the film doesn't shed light on the global political consequences of an American civil war. How would China, Russia, Iran and North Korea react in such a case? Would they take advantage of the weakness and confusion of the US military and invade their neighbors? Would they perhaps even attack the USA? That would be worth its own film.

You’re so out of touch it’s unreal 😂
It's a movie about war journalists I don't know what you want me to tell you
You know, she sleeps with them cameras too.
still speaks more coherently than trump
And waaaaay more coherently than Biden 😂
He sounds more like Senile Joe to me than Trump! Trump got more bluster and bragadoccio than this movie POTUS!
@@don8659 Both are bad, but Trump is worse. Dems policies actually align with good economic and national management, even if the president is off
@@Glorfendalbecause out of control inflation is good for the economy midwit
@@Glorfendalthe economy isn’t in good shape, it hasn’t been for a while, even before trump and biden, it doesn’t align with reps or dems, so saying it aligns with just dems is pure silliness
A brilliant impression of Trump, just needed a few bigglies in there
I’ve never heard ever Trump threaten the citizens of America with F16s. With a grin. Twice.
I feel like you people want it to represent Trump? homie talks like any standard American population. same dry ass voice, same dry ass lines
Nah, Trump is brilliant and a great leader for ALL American. Even you crying lefties.
@@SaltflyBecause he lost in 2020.
This movie was boring
Great Joe Biden impression, just needs some incoherent words and stumbling around
Joe biden does not want to be a dictator.
It would be epic if Trump quoted this after winning in 2024.
in 2016 there was Calexit movement but it quickly became irrelevant
He quoted Bane when he was elected
I want to throw up when I hear these punk leaders say " God Bless America"! Whay would God bless America when american does not bless God. We have kick God not just out of our lives but out of our homes and states and our Country! We need help because right now Satan is kicking our butts!
Don't confuse your neighborhood for the entire country.
ok boomer
What?
Separation of Church and State mean anything to you?
@@thegageinator805bold of you to think those types can read
TRUMP
shut up.. your mouth
everyone dies, the movie sucked
Trump❤
for prison
Is that Gavin N.???? Wow. Shit is gonna hit the fan!!!
This brings sooooo many flashbacks to hundreds of 3rd world countries, like my Serbia for example.
In America tho, this is a fiction thatll never happen, stop fantasising
you realize Americans have fought each other before? in fact it was our most deadly war
Trust me, we’re very close to another US Civil War. Do you know how bad things are politically right now or close to a Trump dictatorship also
