When I was younger, This and other, Tintin shows/ movies came during the Christmas break. As a French Canadien, I had a few comics of Tintin, Asterix and Lucky Luke and I treasured them, big time. :D However, the lake of sharks, while nice, wasn't my vibe, the Temple of the golden sun, Journey to the Moon and The Culculus affair, was more my speed. :D Thank you very much, for making and sharing this. :D
I grew up with Thompson and Thompson being called Dupont and Dupond and kalkylus being called Kalkyl but that probably has to do with the fact I grew up with Swedish and French versions of the comics and Tv series.
This is a very well-researched review, put together quite professionally. I'm a huge Tintin fan myself, and I appreciate that you while not being the biggest fan of the franchise as you pointed out, put so much effort into making this. Great work. Best wishes from Iran.
8:02 This cannot be intentional. People back then could not even begin to imagine IA ever existing. 10:09 I don’t think it’s a coincidence either. Syldavia and Borduria in the lore are two opposing nations, one communist and part of the USSR, the other not. It’s no wonder Rastapopoulos tried to flee towards Borduria at the end of the film. No western police agent could have looked for him there without risking escalating the conflict.
I’ve only ever read the comic adaptation, which was essentially screencaps from the movie with speech bubbles pasted on top. I liked it, but it definitely wasn’t on the level of the og comics or the 2011 movie.

I didn't know that's what they were called in Sweden. I believe Calculus is called Tournesol is the original french version. Thanks for the comment!
