My goodness the scene direction in this sequence is amazing. I remembered being blown away by it in theatres and rewatching it now years later it was every bit as good as I remembered it. Fantastic chase sequence, easely the highlight of the movie (the rest of the movie was stellar too)
i think what makes this scene the best is that everything that they encountered was shown countless and countless times again in the background, like the tank with a building stuck to it can be seen inactive in 0:02 before giving chase in 1:08 and then again in 3:17. This movie feels alive along with the character and it's a shame we barely see anything like this again nowadays.
Apparently this scene was inspired by the tank chase chapter in Uncharted 2, and in turn this scene inspired the bike chase in Uncharted 4. Creative minds showing each other respect.
It felt exactly like when Indiana Jones's father destroyed his own plane tail with a machine gun by accident. And also the side car bike chase. Both movies were directed by Spielberg.

At the end of the chase, when the tank rides up to the coast, a soldier pops his head out and screams before the tank drives into the sea and leaves the building where Thompson and Thomson were staying on the coast.

True Tintin fans know that Tintin lets the bird go the instant Haddocks life is under threat. His intentions and loyalties in the comics were always very clear - the indecision here makes him look erratic and over zealous. In the comics he was measured and consistent. Although, to be fair to this version of Tintin I would have hung on to the bird instead of saving this version of Haddock. Adaption in this film was a complete disaster.

Indians primarily had the shifter on the right side, unlike Harley Davidsons that had them on the left side, though some were built like Indians such as the Harley UMG which is a 74ci flathead made specifically for the NYPD (funny enough they didn’t get the contract because they used the 74” rather than the 80” version making it essentially an Indian) and some custom motorcycles where the customer specifically asked for the shifter to be on the other side. Its also a bit odd that he never shifted at all (or at least from what I could tell). It’s a very small detail that you probably wouldn’t notice if you didn’t know to look for it.

It’s on wheels through time’s UA-cam channel. Pretty cool bike imo.

I don't think motorcycles have reverse gear as they are practically impossible to control going backwards. Most likely explanation: nobody bothered animate gear shifts in already difficult scene. Especially when such maneuver would also have effect on sound design as well.
They don't make movies like they used to. This masterpiece deserved a sequel, but at this point it would be wasted on terrible cgi and corporate interference.

We did get a reference of “Tintin on the Moon” with Haddock and Snowy doing a similar scene during the seaplane flight in the movie.
