Great watch as always! Sad to see Arda go out but enjoyed Turkiye throughout the tournament. Congrats to Jude and England. And yeah on the England thing its funny coz they are so disjointed but individual brilliance keeps helping them over the line. I think for Southgate he has to choose between Jude and Foden not both. Coz they keep occupying the same spaces. There are some games where Jude will be more important and some where Foden could be more important but basically he has to choose a 10 and go with them and then let one of the other left sided players figure it out whether its playing a striker to partner Kane via Toney and Watkins or playing natural wingers in the form of Gordon or Eze whichever it ends up being coz eventually that indecisiveness is gonna haunt them. Coz sometimes you just need to play what's best for the current setup and that doesn't always mean the best players will thrive the most coz we saw for example Spain actually benefit from Olmo going into that role that Pedri had coz Olmo is much more direct even tho Pedri is a better player than him. And with France we are seeing a Foden style shoehorning with Griezmann being thrown out wide right. Which Griezmann has been one of their most important players since 2016 but for Deschamps he needs to either play him in that role he had at the World Cup or just play a natural right wing instead, but so many of these coaches playing it safe instead of making that ballsy decision like Sam even eluded to. Brazil are even facing that now with some of their midfield and fullback selections where its just so puzzling when you have the talent right there. PS apologies for the ramble, just enjoyed the discussion and its been funny seeing some of these talented teams stumble so much in the name of not upsetting some of their players or playing it safe lol so I've enjoyed seeing teams that just say screw it and do what's best for their setup whether it was a Turkiye, Austria, Georgia, Uruguay, Colombia, Venezuela etc, but the big caveat i will add that is i may not enjoy it from an entertainment POV but i fully understand why some coaches do it so im not moaning at why they do it just an annoyance from a viewer with nothing at stake.
Guler is a attacking midfielder and too slow to be a winger. He can’t dribble as good as Brahmin so his best position will be like odegaard or Bernardo Silva at city. We need a right winger or wingback so bad
