It's not quite a misquote, but the saying "curiosity killed the cat" is supposed to include "but satisfaction brought it back", which has rather the opposite intended meaning.
"blood is thicker than water" is a similar situation. "the blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb", in other words, your friends/found family/ ect are more important than the perceived obligations to someone because they are related to you, but was mangled into "blood is thicker than water" which is used to imply the opposite
@@brony4869 Yeah, this is a complete myth. The phrase 'Blood is thicker than water' dates back to the Early Modern Period, IE Shakespeare. 'The blood of the covenant if thicker than the water of the womb' only dates back to the 1990s. The people who made up the phrase CLAIMED that it dates back hundreds of years, but there are no attestations prior to the 1990s.
The saying is not supposed to include 'but satisfaction brought it back'. That was added in the early 20th century as a kind of rebuttal to the original phrase. It was originally intended to warn of unnecessary investigation.

It was an original quirk of the Avatars reincarnation cycle. the original moonwalk did pick up what Neil Armstrong said but was not apparent in the rebroadcasting process and has been remastered with his original audio in recent years. And Avatar was an awesome series
You cited Kyoshi as "different" but Kyoshi litterally has an entire island of warriors who look exactly like her. Aang looks like every other air nomad Roku looks like every old fire bender (look at old Zuko) Every bending style/tribe has a look.
i mean the kyoshi warriors are supposed to look like her, thats the point roku and zuko are related on zuko's mother's side. but i'll give you that one for aang
Isn't that basically the same face syndrome of animation? If you give a person a similar hair and skin colour and they have a similar head shape they look basically the same.
Yeah, I think another factor for everyone looking similar is that the show only seems to have 5 or so faces and most characters would be indistinguishable if it weren't for their hair and head shape.
I just thought it was cuz they were both from water tribe. Also theory: Yue was supposed to be the next avatar because we were told that when she was born she was perfectly heathy but some thing was missing... that something being rava. Look at all of the times and average age of death. - Jordyn
They didn't say something was missing. Just that she was sick. And an avatar can only be born after the last one dies. This theory doesn't hold much grounds

You should do a theory on who everyone else's reincarnated lives are. It is implied that everyone in the Avatar world including the Avatar themselves is reincarnated. Its just that the Avatar has their bending ability passed down and they can talk to the past lives. Can everyone else talk to their past lives too if they are very spiritual like Jinora?
Humpty Dumpty is described as an egg in Lewis Caroll's 1871 novel, Through the Looking Glass and What Alice Found There, and illustrated as such in John Tenniel's artwork in that novel. So that's why I think of him as an egg.
Both Katara and Kora are southern water tribe. Possibly related, even if distant. Being inuet, a lot of tribal families are related by clan, marriage or sometimes adopted in.
I think this just comes down to an animation style. That being said you could do a video about korra being related to princess Yue. Follow the lead lol

Fun idea but I personally think that the similarity is that they are two characters from the same small village. With a point said at the beginning of the video, "Every Avatar looks so unique" while Aang looked unique in the time period he woke up in, compared to how he looked liked compared to all the other air benders of his original time he really didn't look unique. Sure he was one of (if not the youngest) Airbender to get his tattoos, so compared to all the other 12 year old Airbenders around him he looked pretty unique, but still he really wasn't that unique looking for an Airbender.
I want the next Avatar to be either a child of Opal x Bolin, or a descendant of one of the Sand Benders that took Appa- as a way to atone for their ancestors misdeeds, etc. Would be cool either way.
I actually think Korra looks nothing like me, her face is much longer and leaner, her eyes are a brighter blue, he hair is shorter and lighter, she is much taller and more muscular. Her hair has a totally different style then mine for the hair thing i think your just reaching. Our only resemblance is our skin tone, eye shape, a color pallet and thats just because we are both from the southern water tribe
Possible alternative theory: the face of the avatars' partners may be the most familiar to Raava, which she adopts as the face of the new avatar. This is assuming that the partner would be the person the avatar would see most often (or at least think about).
oh my gosh has no one noticed that korra looks like princess Yue, just think about it korra's dad was suppouse to be the cheif of the northern water tribe but unalaq took his birth right and korra's dad was banished but princess Yue was also the princess and yet to be cheif in the water tribe but she turned into the moon ( can't take that serously) and sooooooo that means that her father had a son that could be korra's dad or her grandpa which makes princess Yue either korra's aunt or great aunt depending on when her father died so korra is half spirt and she is realated to the moon great........... Edit: so many things spelled wrong, me being lazy
Hmm they never did say he was an egg Well they said he sat on a wall and nobody could put him back together when he fell implying that he broke... So what if he was a glass dish?
Pretty sure the fact that he is an egg came from a picture that went along with the story. So while it’s not stated he is an egg, it was shown that he was one.
I’m gonna assume based on the username you are in fact female. So one thing of note is that men actually have less cones in their eyes, meaning we see less color differentiation. So I and apparently our Carlin bro friends see the eyes as extremely close. Furthermore everybody across the board actually sees color differently as a whole outside of these biological trends between sexes, leading more into the case that a lot of us see far less differentiation between the eyes in question than you might actually think. Even further still is the idea that you also have to train your eye to get really good at discerning colors, so me as a musician, not my forte, so when I see colors similar to one another I might have a harder time differentiating than someone who has done so much art they can tell what shade of paint you’re using without reading the bottle. Needless to say it’s a little less cut and dry than you would think.

The people who made up the phrase CLAIMED that it dates back hundreds of years, but there are no attestations prior to the 1990s.

3 months later but what I think noghtrodr is trying to say is if Aang hadn’t been frozen she would have been the avatar when he died around the time when she was born, not saying that confirms the theory ofc
And then 70 years later, korra became the avatar. The supposed to be princess of the northern watertribe. Like Yue.
It is so annoying that people keep reciting that we only use 10%of our brain. The correct statement was that we only understand how 10% of our brain functions

Did anyone else notice that he said "Japanese" and not "Chinese". Chinese is the main language/culture of the series. Yue's name is Chinese for moon, which she explains to Sokka.

Where's this implied at all?
@@mylespope6203 that’s my question
Humpty Dumpty is described as an egg in Lewis Caroll's 1871 novel, Through the Looking Glass and What Alice Found There, and illustrated as such in John Tenniel's artwork in that novel. So that's why I think of him as an egg.
Both Katara and Kora are southern water tribe. Possibly related, even if distant. Being inuet, a lot of tribal families are related by clan, marriage or sometimes adopted in.

I don't think comparing their eyes is a fair way to say they look alike. Considering the three animation studios that worked on avatar couldn't agree on what her eyes looked like. One could easily pick another screenshot from another episode and say that they look different.
Possible alternative theory: the face of the avatars' partners may be the most familiar to Raava, which she adopts as the face of the new avatar. This is assuming that the partner would be the person the avatar would see most often (or at least think about).

just think about it korra's dad was suppouse to be the cheif of the northern water tribe but unalaq took his birth right and korra's dad was banished but princess Yue was also the princess and yet to be cheif in the water tribe but she turned into the moon ( can't take that serously) and sooooooo that means that her father had a son that could be korra's dad or her grandpa which makes princess Yue either korra's aunt or great aunt depending on when her father died
so korra is half spirt and she is realated to the moon

Even further still is the idea that you also have to train your eye to get really good at discerning colors, so me as a musician, not my forte, so when I see colors similar to one another I might have a harder time differentiating than someone who has done so much art they can tell what shade of paint you’re using without reading the bottle.
