My impression of this movie was that it was a spin on the Harry Angel story in Angel Heart, but I haven't seen Jacob's Ladder in years. This is a great channel for creative writers, because the story elements are always traced so very well, that it makes a writer think more about their own stories, whether or not it's making sense. Many thanks for that!
As a stand-alone extended type of Twilight Zone episode with Hellraiser elements, I found this surprisingly enjoyable, and well acted for the most part.
~ wow that lead actor has SUCH an expressive face . . . its like he's almost acting or something . . . look at the shock on his face at 16:03 upon seeing pinhead . . . amazing !!
I actually did like that one...unlike that, what is going to come...yikes. True it differed a lot from previous Hellraiser-Movies, yet it had a couple of great visuals kinda sorta trying to recreate the camera angles from previous movies, the symbolism was quite nice and it was NOT "Revelations"...that's a plus, I guess. Still: Great Review, guys.
First time I watched it, I really liked it. But this one could have worked better as a film without anything Hellraiser-related elements. Still it was better than 3 and 4; and I gave up after the Lance Henriksen one.
Okay so this might sound strange to some folks but actually this particular movie Inferno is among my top favorite Hellraiser movies can't exactly explain why I just really like it I like how Pinhead is portrayed in this particular film, it was just a touch of what it used to be mixed with something totally new I really liked it after that they were stupid but Inferno I liked
To be fair Hellraiser Bloodlines takes place years and years in the future so we know that's the definite ending, just so much space to fill up between the End and now.
Imo this is the best hellraiser movie out of this bunch that came after the first two, even if it rips out Jacobs ladder, the idea of hell being a psychological horror rather than physical torment is very interesting to me because It's more relatable, maybe if I get like cancer or kidnapped and tortured I might change my mind but I hope not.
Hey guys you forgot, at the end of Bloodlines Pinhead blowed up but in the future! So these straight to video sequels are what he was doing until the future where he blowded up in space in the future
Are you guys doing all the way up to the ninth movie? Braver men than I if you do I like your reviews, I go with Decker Shado for the comedy take and you guys for hyper factual. Little sad you guys did not mention that the main character has worked in another Barker project, Nightbreed as Boon
the suffering continues.. i agree with everything you said, great review! Also the guy standing over detective Thorne after he's beaten up is from 'Sons of Anarchy' just mentioning
I enjoyed this one like I enjoyed Oblivion with Cruise. Sometimes a movie is very derivative but it just doesn't steal from a single source, it makes a sort of reference salad that becomes an enjoyable homage and something with its own identity. I would say that this Hell is no Labyrinth anymore, and the Cenobites became Devils, which is admittedly a bad.
Yes definitely a different take on the series. The psychological bit was an interesting idea even if it did borrow elements from other films. Also Walter Werzowa's musical score is nothing compared to Christopher Young's BUT it did have a number of creepy tunes as well. Nice review
I would never disregard Clive Barker by just send him any script..to Hell with that. It would have to be worthy of the master of suspense, alternate worlds.
Inconsistent when it comes to opening the box. Some movies it takes a puzzle master, other times a normal person just presses it a certain way and boom.
I actually liked this movie. I can see why others don't, especially with how little Pinhead is in it. I just liked how much this character suffers and how much Pinhead enjoys revealing his hell.
"It only works because he have seen it in Jacob's ladder" - no, actually. The film worked for me and I have never seen Jacob's ladder. In order to enjoy that film one has to accept that these Hellraiser films are just stand-alone stories with Hellraiser just being more or less attached to it. But then again, even Hellraiser 2 was already a departure from the original concept.
So can we just get a sequel/prequel of Event Horizon showing the 1st crew being tortured by the cenobites? Drops on Halloween and the studio and everyone involved cashes out. That is all!
This movie is a great reminder why Sam Raimi was selected as the replacement director for Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. They could have called this one Hellraiser: Burnt Toast and it would have worked.
Craig Sheffer starred in another movie based on a Clive Barker novel, Nightbreed. I read the novel entitled Cabal which was good. The movie Nightbreed was trash. Clive Barker has no luck with his stories being adapted for the screen. Barker was smart to get the studio to pay him off and tap out. The movies at this point are unrecognizable from Clive Barker’s original vision. 😂😂😂
OH MY GOD I WOULD LOVE TO SEE A SEQUEL TO THIS STORY!!! guy gets used to all that hell shit but spends how ever long doing whatever the fuck he wants. peppers his kid with the shotgun just for the hell of it. shit that makes even the cenobites say "what is wrong with you?!"
I found my ex's dating profile after we got together. He had like a satin shirt and was posing over a chess board. Tying that to the movie's opening is all too telling. Maybe I [was/am] living in the Hellraiser universe.
I love Iain's reason to watch it lol if its bad, good, watch it! because that's what Hellraiser is all about, suffering! xD But this is where the Hellraiser movies started to hit the floor for me. This is where they get worse lol
I think this is oneof the better ones, after this the detective story rapidly got a bit tired. They just ranade the same film to lesser degrees. Still ok though, only one I hate, well total hate is Revelations but the rest I can tolerate.
I dont think it was a dream him opening the box the first time. Pinhead rips his face apart and he dies. Then wakes up in his entrance to his eternity. The rest of the movie is thorne's first go around in the hell he created for himself
BoomStick Critique But the difference is In the 1st the entire movie was very interesting and entertaining so you don't notice or care that he's not there, where as Inferno the whole movie is boring, stupid and repetitive, it thinks it's smart but it Really isn't so you notice and care that Pinhead isn't there.
~ what annoys me about these types of studio movies made for a quick buck is - It STILL hasn't occurred to them to spend time and effort on making a good movie so their profits would be five times as big as what a piece of shit would make !? i love pinhead. its a great character but i don't want to see this crap movie because its rubbish and i'm not going to buy it either. !! ooh deja vu !!
I saw this before I saw hellraiser . i still like it even though it isn't good or anything. Also I god damn hate jacob's ladder., every rip off of it is fine except that one. Brain Dead baybee.
My impression of this movie was that it was a spin on the Harry Angel story in Angel Heart, but I haven't seen Jacob's Ladder in years. I know these films may be bad but the reviews are awesome and save us all the suffering of watching them ourselves- cheers guys
As a stand-alone extended type of Twilight Zone episode with Hellraiser elements, I found this surprisingly enjoyable, and well acted for the most part.
You are freaking brilliant, guys, seriously, so glad i've stumbled upon your channel.
Well, Pinhead "died" in the future, so sequels are possible.
Found your channel the other day bloody loving your content please keep it up! deserve many more subscribers than you have!
This is the only Hellraiser film outside of I-II that I watched through twice. Granted, the second time was with a friend, but it's a solid movie.
By the way I said 1-3 but I meant 1-2. :)
What's the problem guys?
I mean... When I think of Hellraiser...
The FIRST thing I think of is:
Cowboy. Ninja. Warrior. Females.
Who DOESN'T think that?
Jesse Meriwether 👍👍👍👍
*Underrated comment.*
The idea of Jacob's Ladder mixed with Hellraiser sounds amazing, just a shame this didn't come anywhere near that awesome idea for a horror movie.
Angel Heart came to mind, I think Hellseeker was more Jacobs ladder but I can see where you are coming from.
Pinhead dying hundreds of years in the future doesn’t prevent more movies. This clearly doesn’t take place after Bloodlines.
~ wow that lead actor has SUCH an expressive face . . . its like he's almost acting or something . . . look at the shock on his face at 16:03 upon seeing pinhead . . . amazing !!

Still: Great Review, guys.
I love this channel!! The Hellraiser series has always been a guilty pleasure of mine.
When you guys referenced South Park with "See ya!" I lost my mind.
I'm still laughing. xD
You guys should do Nightbreed by Clive Barker, it has the same leader actor too
I still have to see this one. Can't wait to see your review on #6, aka Hellraiser: Angel Heart 2.0
iain reaction and face after he says "oooohhh inferno" sums up the naming system of all this movies perfectly
First time I watched it, I really liked it. But this one could have worked better as a film without anything Hellraiser-related elements. Still it was better than 3 and 4; and I gave up after the Lance Henriksen one.
thanks guys, lots of love from Australia to you.xxx

7:10 no. he explaind that he likes magic tricks and does them for his own amusement.
Hey guys you forgot, at the end of Bloodlines Pinhead blowed up but in the future! So these straight to video sequels are what he was doing until the future where he blowded up in space in the future
"As good as name as ANY" GREAT WORK GUY'S 👍👍👍 Stoked to watch the rest of these!
Even though it's NOT a actual H.R
Movie... but I absolutely LOVED this one!!!
Thank you for sharing part 5 of Hellraiser
Are you guys doing all the way up to the ninth movie? Braver men than I if you do
I like your reviews, I go with Decker Shado for the comedy take and you guys for hyper factual.
Little sad you guys did not mention that the main character has worked in another Barker project, Nightbreed as Boon
I had to stop after Hell On Earth. I'm just enjoying watching these reviews now. Let them do the suffering haha!
Toby Kirkby Night Shade was a ALL favorite of mine! Craig was also in that crappy 3rd installment of tales from the crypt RITUAL.
Toby Kirkby I honestly think you'll enjoy and appreciate my edits. WHENever ya getta chance
I was totally confused when I saw this movie. It was dark and I was really not drawn in, it was like I was waiting for this movie to end.
the suffering continues.. i agree with everything you said, great review! Also the guy standing over detective Thorne after he's beaten up is from 'Sons of Anarchy' just mentioning

I thought Bloodlines was better .
Yes definitely a different take on the series. The psychological bit was an interesting idea even if it did borrow elements from other films. Also Walter Werzowa's musical score is nothing compared to Christopher Young's BUT it did have a number of creepy tunes as well. Nice review
With the film being a rip of Jacob's ladder one thing I noticed is the main actor looks to me like Tim Robins
The opening music though
I would never disregard Clive Barker by just send him any script..to Hell with that. It would have to be worthy of the master of suspense, alternate worlds.
You guys should try to make a review on the scream franchise with the ghostface killer.
Axel Madrigal There is only one Ghostface Killer and he's a Kung Fu Star nothing to do with Scream.
excellent review guys! love your videos.
Inconsistent when it comes to opening the box. Some movies it takes a puzzle master, other times a normal person just presses it a certain way and boom.
lol. Was the synopsis THAT hard to describe? I love it
the boxes design look is iconic sure tey do variants of it but why ever change it though?
the movie took a lot from Angel Heart and Jacob's Ladder.
Prosthetics I thought the same thing! I always thought it was like Angelheart, which I also enjoyed.
I used to get Craig Sheffer and Dale Midkiff confused.
inferno is over all favorite of the DVD movies.
lindinle I'd agree... But that's really not saying much, all the DVD movies including Inferno are terrible.

This movie is a great reminder why Sam Raimi was selected as the replacement director for Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. They could have called this one Hellraiser: Burnt Toast and it would have worked.
What do you mean, dr strange multiverse of madness is a terrible film and far worse then Dr Strange
Craig Sheffer starred in another movie based on a Clive Barker novel, Nightbreed. I read the novel entitled Cabal which was good. The movie Nightbreed was trash. I did enjoy this movie. It's a guilty pleasure of mine. Even if it wasn't meant to be a hellraiser movie.
Chatterer is my fav Cenobite
OH MY GOD I WOULD LOVE TO SEE A SEQUEL TO THIS STORY!!!
guy gets used to all that hell shit but spends how ever long doing whatever the fuck he wants.
peppers his kid with the shotgun just for the hell of it.
shit that makes even the cenobites say "what is wrong with you?!"
All the direct to video sequels take place before the 2127 climax of Hellraiser: Bloodline.
I actually kinda liked this one. Nowhere near as good as the first two, but I enjoyed it.
Hellraiser 1987 and 1988 and 1992 and 1996 and 2000 and 2002
I found my ex's dating profile after we got together. He had like a satin shirt and was posing over a chess board. Tying that to the movie's opening is all too telling. Maybe I [was/am] living in the Hellraiser universe.
The main character looks like Frank West from Dead Rising.
30 minutes in and i forgot it was a hellraiser review. Lol
*Turn up*
I love Iain's reason to watch it lol if its bad, good, watch it! because that's what Hellraiser is all about, suffering! xD
But this is where the Hellraiser movies started to hit the floor for me. This is where they get worse lol
Hellraiser The Television Series Universe Anthology Stories
The Hidden Life of Aaron Boone
Cool review guys, looking forward to the next one.
basically the film tells us about the inner he'll of the detective
I think this is oneof the better ones, after this the detective story rapidly got a bit tired. They just ranade the same film to lesser degrees. Still ok though, only one I hate, well total hate is Revelations but the rest I can tolerate.
When you gonna do a Jacob's ladder review?
I only liked the first two and this one-I have a thing for psychological horror...fucking LOATHED the third
hell seeker is the best of the strait to dvd seaquals
Where is the next movie review with Kirsty?
It's David Boreanaz, no its not, yes it is, no its not, yes it is....oh me nuts gone wonkie!
I dont think it was a dream him opening the box the first time. Pinhead rips his face apart and he dies. Then wakes up in his entrance to his eternity. The rest of the movie is thorne's first go around in the hell he created for himself

pin head actually is in this film more then the first
BoomStick Critique But the difference is In the 1st the entire movie was very interesting and entertaining so you don't notice or care that he's not there, where as Inferno the whole movie is boring, stupid and repetitive, it thinks it's smart but it Really isn't so you notice and care that Pinhead isn't there.
I rather enjoyed this movie to be honest.
Too many fake outs in this movie, no pay off.
Hey i was born that year
Craig Sheffer was great in NightBreed! Inferno, not so much!
isn't there another hellraiser movie with almost the same plot?
~ what annoys me about these types of studio movies made for a quick buck is - It STILL hasn't occurred to them to spend time and effort on making a good movie so their profits would be five times as big as what a piece of shit would make !?
i love pinhead. its a great character but i don't want to see this crap movie because its rubbish and i'm not going to buy it either.
!! ooh deja vu !!
whatever. inferno was dope. maybe the best one
I saw this before I saw hellraiser . i still like it even though it isn't good or anything. Also I god damn hate jacob's ladder., every rip off of it is fine except that one. Brain Dead baybee.
Literally literally literally literally literally literally literally literally
Craig Sheffer's forehead looks bigger every time.
This one was actually good just cut the kung fu cowboys.
I like this one
A problem with his face! hahaha
It was kindly lame
Second!
