This review has solidified you are my favorite duo of reviewers EVER! Thank you for suffering thru this for us now i will wait until its free before i torture myself. My curiosity is waned.
This is now probably MY FAVORITE review by Gary & Iain! I love pissed off Iain! I pretty much had the same attitude when I first watched the film too! I loved how Gary was trying to be a little soft on the film, while Iain just ripped this movie apart! Judgement is really awful, I didn't even think things could get worse after Revelations, but WOW! I was impressed they made it worse than I imagined! My only favorite part ( I shit you NOT ), was Heather Langenkamp's small little cameo. That's it. Great Review, you guys!
Totally agree. And the worst sin I feel this movie commits is that it totally misunderstands the whole concept of Hellraiser by introducing such things as God, angels, and sin.
To be fair... Clive Barker never knew that The Hellbound Heart, the story of the puzzle box, and Cenobites were going to take off the way they did and was forced to keep churning them out. ALSO, how does Bloodline "confirm it"? The occult & mysticism have been the foundations of several scientific disciplines. The thing that has always made the Hellraiser mythos standout is its Cosmic horror subtext. Cosmic horror comes from a secular perspective of finding out how small and unknowing we are as organisms, not a cheap dumb rip of theological cosmology.
How does that confirm anything? Would you rather he use some techno-babble gibberish name? The Lord of the Labyrinth is a reference to Greek mythology not Christian. These human concepts of hell or the underworld are more symbolic and are alluded to as merely superstitious misconceptions of a actual realm/dimension not a theological myth that serves as an answer to natural existential fear, sin/virtue & punishment/reward, or social control. The Cenobites know no difference between pain and pleasure and care not how virtuous or sinful you are. If you seek experience beyond human understanding they will find, if you let them in. My favorite films in the series are 1, 2, & 4. Clive's perspective, and he is a atheist, is that theology is just another myth and that is conveyed clearly in his stories. Its cosmic horror, if you are not familiar then I implore to research it. I believe it world be rewarding to someone whom likes Hellraiser and might give you a deeper appreciation for the films... the good ones.
Christ, you're putting a lot of thought into this. Yes, I get that the Cenobites were intended to be a parallel dimension, but I'm just saying that as the films went on, they began to imply more and more that Pinhead was just a demonic figure in Hell. Personally, my favourite films in the series are 1 and 3.
Just really want to add that Clive Barker, the man HIMSELF, added in biblical connections in the Scarlet Gospels. He also added in biblical connections in the Hellraiser comic book series that HE co-wrote. If you're going to knock the movie for the lore, then at least keep up with the lore. I mean biblical connections were present in Hellraiser 2 even. In the comics, it's explained that The Order of the Gash is just one faction in Leviathan's realm of hell. There are multiple realms and factions. I havent read Scarlet Gospels, but Clive said in interviews that he had a whole heirarchy of hell set up.
What happened to the Chucky series is what needs to happen to Hellraiser. Make it great again! Give Clive the rights and budget, get Doug back, and Bam! You got another hit
When we all knew Heather langenkemp was in this outing we all assumed she was gonna be the lead star considering she's the only known actor and horror icon in the film and it turns out Just to be a damm bilnk and you'll miss her cameo I guess after that she was thinking why am I not doing another' nightmare on elm street movie with Robert england then this crap of a so called hellrasier flick with five minutes of screen time
Actually Revelations was also written as a Hellraiser film from the very start too... Says alot when you prefer the sequels that added Pinhead at a later date
So entertaining watching Iain being pissed off the whole video :) but why did the angel/heaven want to save the killer? To make pinhead the hero or what?
in the begining when the Auditor says the line , "Same street , different city." (mighta mis quoted on memory here.) , to me right then only he sounded just like a Robin Williams Tone being used saying that?
Also is it just me or is there like some weird sexual tension going on between the Angel and the Auditor during that scene where she comes to tell him to let Bad Cop go? Shes like rubbing up on him and stuff and it just feels very...strange.
I might be among the few but i enjoyed this particular film. It just felt very small, if i had to come up with a negative. I did think thee angel angle was really stupid though
40:18 that chair scene is so laughable beyond belief to me , its only a quick scene then cuts off to another scene , seemingly for no good reason , just to , dunno show fake pinhead basking in a chair relaxing?
Personally I semi enjoyed this movie, I liked the Auditors performance quite a bit, I thought the new Pinhead was alright-ish... That's about it, also concerning the biblical stuff the Hellraiser novels by Clive Barker included biblical stuff and angels and whatnot, been waiting for this video since this movie was announced! And it was worth the wait, it was really entertaining watching you guys shit on this even though I kind of liked it :D.
Haha... I've not seen this or Revelations yet. Might watch it with the missus just for a laugh. I feel the same way with the TCM series... different studios all trying to remake the original and most in the series are pants lol
Woah! You're way too tough on Hellraiser: Judgement. It's one of the first-if not the first-to try to expand the mythos in a really interesting way. And sure, it's low budget, but I think Tunnicliff has done some interesting things that if he had the money could have been really spectacular. And sure, the other plotline plays homage-or rips of, depending upon your point of view-Seven but that's forgivable considering that what the director is doing is fairly ambitious.
I don't see it as intentional motivation to push religious ideas but instead it shows the low intellect of the writer, his ignorance of the source material, and/or his general disrespect for the intelligence of the fans. Aside from it being dumbed down it is also cheap.
Seen all the previous. Watched 1 and 2 countless times. Couldn't make it through this one. I watched the first ridiculous scene but that amateurish crime drama acting. I coudn't watch no more.
When the next Hellraiser film comes out (and it will) I say we all get a crowdfund together, and offer Iain so much money to watch it, he can't refuse.
Gary has admitted the film is terrible. But he got into a dispute with Doug and just wants to be clear he tried to the best Hellraiser he could given the circumstances.
Its a shame you guys don't have more subscribers, along with Fanboyflicks and of course Red Letter Media you guys are becoming my favorite movie reviewers.
I stopped watching 'Hellraiser' after the third installment. I simply watched your reviews for the other seven. I appreciate your your pain fellas. Let's hope for Iain's sake there won't be an eleventh Hellraiser!
The first hellraiser had it's boring moments too I mean if I could take out anything it would be that stupid love story with Kirsty and useless boyfriend
Heather Lagenkamp was in the movie because she happened to be working close by where they were shooting and thought it would be fun. She didn't want a big part. She just wanted a fun cameo. Just saying...
Doug didn't refuse to read the script, he wasn't given the oppurtunity. He looked at the nondisclosure agreement and it was reportedly really overwritten and demanding of him
Iain is beyond hilarious in this vid...look at his face while Gary talks! Not a flicker of emotion. Only speaking up to confirm how much he hates shit haha Easily the best channel on tube!!! :)
Doug didn't leave just cause of the DTV scripts, he left cause he disliked the ORIGINAL script Tunnicliffe wrote and because he was given zero time to prepare and ofc little money.
I just found you guys a few day ago and have been marathon watching a lot of reviews. These Hellraiser ones have been extra entertaining just to watch Ian breaking down so fast over these.
And one cool Easter egg that I found was the address on the house Ludovico 55 sounds a lot like laviticus 5:5 and that reads : and it shall be when he shall be guilty in order these things and he shall confess that he has send in that thing the auditor gets them to confess I felt this this was this was really clever and not just a retelling of the first movie.
I just love Gary's reactions from 32:52 onwards. And I'm really looking forward to Iain's reaction when 6 years from now we get the review for "Hellraiser XIV: HELL, THE FINAL FRONTIER".
Cant wait for the new review.....Iain and Gary's demeanor and faces when binge watching their reviews from Hellraiser to Hellraiser:Judgement... well worth the time, more than sitting and watching the series from beginning to end...thank you guys! 👍
Gary: You know what this film needs, Iain?
Iain: A FUCKING LOBOTOMY?!
Gary: A MONTAGE!!!
Iain: AWWWWWW!
Highlight of the review, nice work lads
This review has solidified you are my favorite duo of reviewers EVER! Thank you for suffering thru this for us now i will wait until its free before i torture myself. My curiosity is waned.
I downloaded the Lament Configuration app and now my cell phone is trying to kill me :)
So sorry you guys had to sit through this film but.....this review was hilarious and I think you need to sit through more terrible films lol
There are such bad movie sights to show them. :p
Another top class review, Ian looks mega pissed off so bad at the beginning. Great stuff chaps.
This is now probably MY FAVORITE review by Gary & Iain! I love pissed off Iain! I pretty much had the same attitude when I first watched the film too! Iain I get the feeling you don't like this film lol
I would have casted Bill O'Reilly as Pinhead :)
Great reviews guys the beginning had me in tears about how the film was produced.
I just saw Iain's face and I was like, "Oh no. It's shit, isn't it?"
Totally agree. And the worst sin I feel this movie commits is that it totally misunderstands the whole concept of Hellraiser by introducing such things as God, angels, and sin.
TO BE FAIR... even Doug's Pinhead went there from time to time. Bloodline pretty much confirmed it

Because Pinhead literally says "Hell has become more ordered" without humor
How does that confirm anything? Would you rather he use some techno-babble gibberish name? The Lord of the Labyrinth is a reference to Greek mythology not Christian. These human concepts of hell or the underworld are more symbolic and are alluded to as merely superstitious misconceptions of a actual realm/dimension not a theological myth that serves as an answer to natural existential fear, sin/virtue & punishment/reward, or social control. Poor Iian.....poor, poor Iian.
Best review of the worst film. This review made me bad laughing.
Watching this review again. Still awesome.

25:00 Dr Channard from part 2 , i thought was the first talking Cenebonite , or maybe actually even the first Female Cenebonite in part 1.

Please make The Blob review next and Saw movies...and Wrong turn
Nice attitude fellas 😂
This video is ripe to be a drinking game- what do you reckon the keyword would be??!!
"Fuck"
How do you think pinhead tries to sleep
So entertaining watching Iain being pissed off the whole video :) but why did the angel/heaven want to save the killer? To make pinhead the hero or what?
Johan Öberg
Because he was doing
the lords work
OLD TESTAMENT
SINNERS WILL BE PUNISHED
in the begining when the Auditor says the line , "Same street , different city." (mighta mis quoted on memory here.) , to me right then only he sounded just like a Robin Williams Tone being used saying that?

OMG! You did it! Jajajaja
Love you guys, big fan from México.
Cheers!.
Ian looks like grumpy cat
Rip
Clive Barker's The Scarlet Gospels is quite brilliant and would make an awesome movie.
Enjoyable reviews even if the movies are utter bobbins!
"The Scarlet Gospels" is a pile of dogshit.
I might be among the few but i enjoyed this particular film. It just felt very small, if i had to come up with a negative. I did think thee angel angle was really stupid though
Can you guys please do the Maniac Cop movies? Keep up the good work.
It was written as “judgment” with just the auditor later they added pin head n called it hell raiser smh 🤦🏾♀️
This video gets a thumbs up for "Cowboy fucking ninjas" ,LMAO!!!
As far as the sequels go this one is probably the best though
did he say ninjas in 8 8 is hellworld its 5 inferno
Looks better than part 9. Pinhead looks better and part 10 is probably a slightly better budget. That being said. Looks like crap.
Househunters: Hellraiser Edition.
40:18 that chair scene is so laughable beyond belief to me , its only a quick scene then cuts off to another scene , seemingly for no good reason , just to , dunno show fake pinhead basking in a chair relaxing?

Jesus wept when he saw this movie.
Haha... I've not seen this or Revelations yet. Might watch it with the missus just for a laugh. I feel the same way with the TCM series... different studios all trying to remake the original and most in the series are pants lol
i do love lian's rants on shitty movies
I don’t know why, but for some reason I’ve got an inkling that Ian didn’t like this one, 😂😂😂
Reviews of crap movies, where you guys are at odds with each other, are the best. Do more please
Woah! You're way too tough on Hellraiser: Judgement. It's one of the first-if not the first-to try to expand the mythos in a really interesting way. That review was SHIT
Only kidding FUCKING AWESOME boys
They could have picked any fanfiction and had a better movie
18:00 to 18:21
😂
Ian looks like someone just stole his pudding.
The perceptor is the new transformer..nice killer name numbnuts
The Perceptor lol I'd rather watch a whole movie based on the Perceptor Autobot instead.
This movie is better then hellseeker, hellworld and revelations. I liked the last 20 odd minute's of judgement, other than that it's just meh.
IAN WHERES YOUR BEARD!!!
was just thinking that as well XD
As a very religious Eastern Orthodox Christian I find it insulting that Hollywood tries to inject Christianity in movies.

His suffering will be legendary
even in Hell
@Punished Captain Frog, whilst laughing all the way to the bank.
This was greatest movie ever and will win 10 oscars ...believe me .
Nelson Smith at this point idk lol
Not complaining, but given Iain's obvious dislike for this film, is anybody else surprised this review is as long as it is?
Nelson Smith this is up to par to Mark Kermode rant on transformers.
Me: Hey, maybe this movie will be good, lemme watch Off the Shelf review it. *review begins with Iain pouting like a little kid* Oh..ohhhhh noooo...
I really like how offendet Ian is :D Like a true fan would be. But i also like Gary being cool headed about that. Good dynamic going on there
Skusioh there’s no such thing as a true horror fan
Gary's just defending this because the director's name is Gary, I get it.
He retracts it when he´s pissed off
Gary has admitted the film is terrible. But he got into a dispute with Doug and just wants to be clear he tried to the best Hellraiser he could given the circumstances.
I liked this movie it’s the best since bloodline it’s ok for how low the budget is and the guy who played pinhead was pretty good
At least this Pinhead doesn't look like a giant baby, like the one in Revelations.
What I'd really like to know is: how did pinhead qualify for a mortgage loan?
Anyone can; this led to the 2008 crash.
Its a shame you guys don't have more subscribers, along with Fanboyflicks and of course Red Letter Media you guys are becoming my favorite movie reviewers.
😍 *FanBoyFlicks*
I stopped watching 'Hellraiser' after the third installment. I simply watched your reviews for the other seven. I appreciate your your pain fellas. Let's hope for Iain's sake there won't be an eleventh Hellraiser!
This review is so funny..love you guys ! 😜😘
The Film might be terrible.. The review was fantastic. Cheers guys :)
Plague Boy The worse the movie, the more entertaining the review.
I think there were more "Fucks" in this single review than all of "Scarface" haha. I laughed my ass off!!
This is on Netflix. Thanks for the heads up.
WTF UA-cam won't ever let me turn on notifications for this channel. Only upside is there's always a backlog of reviews for me to watch 🤓
PinHead is really just depressed because Kirsty keeps screening his calls thats why hes set up in her house
Only speaking up to confirm how much he hates shit haha
Easily the best channel on tube!!! :)
They cast Heather as no name Landlady? FUCK THIS MOVIE!!!
Iain Wept.
*Turn up*
This film looks like true suffering
Sacrilege, I never liked any of the Hellraiser series...I always found them to be dull and boring. Fun review guys.
This movie delivers on one thing in spades: suffering. This was actually painful to sit through. I hope Iain is okay after what this movie did to him.
17:17 - 18:20
😂
IAIN
best rant ever
IAIN
THANK YOU
for the most honest review
analysis of this pile of
💩SHIT💩
They came out with another hellraiser?
Watching Iain get so angry was highly entertaining, well done lads this was hilarious.
did they really spell judgment like that on the title card jfc
you look like you've ben up all night watchin it
And one cool Easter egg that I found was the address on the house Ludovico 55 sounds a lot like laviticus 5:5 and that reads : and it shall be when he shall be guilty in order these things and he shall confess that he has send in that thing the auditor gets them to confess I felt this this was this was really clever and not just a retelling of the first movie.
The reboot of hellraiser will have a female pinhead....ohhh boy..this will be uninteresting
Thanks for taking the hit, guys. Good review. Personally, I stopped watching after Hellseeker. P-U.....
I just love Gary's reactions from 32:52 onwards. And I'm really looking forward to Iain's reaction when 6 years from now we get the review for "Hellraiser XIV: HELL, THE FINAL FRONTIER".
Look at Ian LOL.
Funny last time I binged these was 3 yrs ago... I left a comment I still think about when this movie is brought up
The Sin Eater (overweight guy eating paper & puking) is John Gulagar. Director Feast series
I figured i recognized him
I thought judgement was awesome!!
Love iains slaughter lam top.
At least the dude playing Pinhead this time actually looked the part unlike the one in Revelations
Cant wait for the new review.....Iain and Gary's demeanor and faces when binge watching their reviews from Hellraiser to Hellraiser:Judgement... well worth the time, more than sitting and watching the series from beginning to end...thank you guys! 👍
Oh man, Heather Langenkamp is in this? What the actual fuck?
That’s bad when you would rather watch avp requiem over this
